Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

We stayed in room 438 good view over the pool the pictures I have included you will see walk in shower no grip handles and shower mat on the base of the shower and this was provided by the holiday rep

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

salou centre was really dirty broken tiles on the streets litter everywhere. we ate out everyday and never had a bad meal; beaches were very nice but la pineda beach was quite nice stoney especially going into the sea. we had a good craic in murphys pubs were quite expensive. salou is to much like blackpool in the sun and we would not return to salou.

The beach was excellent but very packed.
There are plenty of shops,and loads of takeaways.
It was noisy at night but it doesn't bother you because thats what you expect.
It was our first holiday together and would go back again.

Having visited Salou before and found there was much to do in so little time (especially when my daughter insisted on spending most of our days on the beach) I would not hesitate in returning.
The resort is clean and pleasant and there is plenty of choice in amenities, there are some great supermarkets and bars and restaurants.
I would recommend travelling down Carrer de Barcelona for more variety of shops.

Portaventura was great, Costa Caribe was disappointing. Aquopolis much better. Wouldn't go on an organsied tour of Barcelona as you don't have enough time anywhere.

Salou has been and gone, with many tired buildings and infrastructure. Although they are building everywhere on the outskirts of the town, with fancy complexes that are for residential sale. It would be beneficial for the officials to invest in the promenade and the main areas of the centre.
Although it seems we have had an awful holiday, we can say that we have made the most of what was on offer. We spent most mornings walking around the town, promenade, etc. stopping off for a coffee. With the afternoons lounging at the hotel in the adult only pool area on the 6th floor, with the evenings being spent in a number of bars, restaurants, etc., which were extremely friendly and inviting.

The resort was lovely. Very clean and the beach was just great for all ages.
The entertainment was very funny you never get bored. The resort was very clean and I never go back to the same place but it was so good I am going back next year I recommend it for all !!!!!!

The salou town itself was not very clean, there was alot of rubbish left outside shops and graffiti everywhere. The beach itself was great!

The resort cleaniness was disgusting as you walked the streets all the pavement had all come up so people were tripping over it all the time and it could of done someone a serious injury. All over the paths there were dog muck which should of been cleaned up. The resort entertainment were OK. The beach was lovely and clean. I wud probably visit Salou again but i wouldn't go back to the San Diego.

The last time we had been to Salou was 17 years ago and were pleased to see things had vastly improved.
There were certain streets that seriously need their pavements hosed down in areas but generally pleased.
Salou is a very busy resort and at night the streets were very conjested with people and traffic. If you're aiming for the promenade, learn to take different routes - trust me, it is possible.
The bus service was also much better and most drivers asked which hotel you were staying at and would inform you of the nearest stop.

I liked Salou a lot, I think it's a nice resort. Plenty to do with a good but busy beach, lots of shops, a lovely promenade to walk along in the evening, a good choice of bars and restaurants as well as the theme and water parks. Also it's close to Barcelona which is a great city to visit.
