We arrived after a hour delay at the hotel at 7:30 in the morning . We were taken up to the 2nd floor to room 3008 and 3012 when we entered it was clean ,friendly and lovely living space for the next week , the room had plenty storage for clothes and what not , the beds were clean and the singles might as well of been doubles form the size off them. the bathroom was clean and spacious ,unfortunately the plug was ripped on are bath so there was no chance of a bath but that was the only problem with one of the rooms. in 3012 however there seem to be a problem with the toilet were water leaked out of it at the bottom .

And for the people who enjoy TV when there on holiday the only English channels you get a are sky news and BBC world. the food at breakfast was fried egg, plain omelet or you could have a omelet made with toppings of your choice ,sausage , flour doughnut ,scrambled eggs, a choice of various pastries and my families favorite pancakes that were bigger than the plates .

The service was friendly . The pool was cleaned everyday (as it should be) and if your half board you pay for the sun beds ,you don't if your all inclusive as we noticed many arguments over this . since there are no real night life places in the location of the hotel apart from the marina , disco is part of the hotel where shoes are put on which e thoroughly enjoyed . if your travelling with kids there is a team there called the animation unit who will entertain kids from the time they wake up till the time they go to sleep ,they are all fluent in English and great fun a few are from England and the canary islands .

This was a fabulous hotel which we loved and would go back the only real big draw back was the location. also are flight was delayed again and we were sent to the hotel el hana next to the airport which was the same rating as the golden soviva , we found the el hana poor and made the golden soviva seem like a 5 star , the entertainment at the el hana was poor as well.

We had a good holiday even though the out door pool was closed. The proplem we had was that the hotel was too far from any night life, the entertainment in the hotel was very poor, so we found ourselves in bed most nights, very early with a good book, dont get me wrong we are not clubbers we just would have liked a few near by bars with some entertainment, just somthing to do after dinner. so if your going take your own drink (the beer is only 2%) their vodka is like water.
enjoy youself but remember you have been warned.

We stayed at the Golden Soviva over the Xmas period and although we had other problems with our holiday - we could not fault the Hotel - it was clean the majority of the staff were friendly and attentive - we were on half board and ate in the Golden restaurant and had no problems with the food although it was a little repetitive - they went to great trouble on Xmas eve and laid on a six course meal - it is definitely a hotel aimed at families with children with loads of activities laid on but I could not fault the hotel

We have just returned from a glorious two weeks stay at the Golden Soviva. (11th - 25th August 2002. Previous to booking our holiday we discovered this site and was horrified at some comments we'd read. We went with an open mind, not expecting too much and being a little apprehensive. Well there was absolutely no need for concern. The rooms in Golven Soviva are lovely, air-conditioned, LARGE beds, T.V. so we were able to follow local news at home on Sky, a fridge which was wonderful to keep water, pop, e.t.c nicely chilled. We ate in the 'Golden restaurant' which is for Golden Soviva residents only, but is situated on the main Soviva site next to their restaurant. Ours was the far nicer restaurant, airy, chandeliers, e.t.c. We went half board which was more than adequate, breakfast/evening meal is buffet style. Some days are better than others for choice, but there's always something you like or will eat. Pancakes are a must, very nice!!! Golden Soviva had it's own small pool although we didn't use this as the large Soviva pool is much more fun espcially with children, the slides are great and open for a couple of hours in the morning and again in the afternoon. In between times are others water based actities such as aerobics (great fun), water polo e.t.c. The beach is a short walk from the hotel (follow the sign on the complex that says 'gateway to the beach'). It's quicker than walking out of the front entrance and all the way round. The beach hosts various water sports all of which are very cheap/reasonable. Doughnuts, banana boat works out to

It was the worst hotel I have been to. The staff were impolite and the food was horrible.

We have just returned from our holiday. We found that the hotel was very clean and was kept that way all the time we were there. The kids really enjoyed the pool durring the day, but as for the evening entertainment, we were all fed up of the kids 'mini disco' by the third night. They play the same songs each night and in the same order. It became very boring. We found the staff very helpfull and check out Tarik on Reception. He was very helpfull when we needed advice. DO be carefull though when going on the free tour to a carpet and leather factory with Mohamed. He will be found walking about the hotel resort asking you to go for a free tour. A very pleasant chap who speaks good English, but when you get to Souse and the factory, you will be shown some very nice rugs. They will then try and high presure you into buying one and will have you there for hours until you buy. They are not cheap. We managed to cancel ours but only after threatning to tell all at the hotel about them. BEWARE!

DO try the Galleon, Quads and the Camels. All were great fun and the same trips as the tour opperator reps sell. You can hagle a good price with the blokes round the pool who are there daily.

We had a great time and would recomend it to most people. Not the place for young groups as there are not a lot of decent bars. Enjoy your Holiday and watch your handbags ladies in the markets and medinas.

P.s. If you smoke rolling tobbaco, take it with you as you cannot buy it anywhere when there. Got mine on the plane coming home

Well we got there!

at 11pm, no rep to accompany us, just dropped at the door. We were then asked to go to restaurant for our dinner!! which we could not eat as it looked like leftovers from dinner time.

All we wanted was our room and bed. Once shown to room, we dicovered we were beside road, and at about 4.30am, the scooters and traffic started, so if you are used to peace and quiet, ask for a room away from road.We asked for a room away from road as a special request when booking, we were told, at welcome meeting the following day, "not all requests can be filled". They did show us another room but it was far too small for Four of us.

After speaking to Emma again (the airtours rep) she immediately offered to move us, which after a bit of thought we said yes.

as we were going to collect our cases, we passed a maid, and at the end of our corridor we found a MOUSE!!!!!, the maid and myself disposed of the mouse. We were happy to be going.

On our flight over we met a couple with whom we kept in contact. they came to where we were moved to and admittedly, we had a couple of days at the Soviva. Great pool for kids, and the staff catered for the football supporters brilliantly!!!.

If you want Butlins with sunshine, great. But in our opinion we do not think that the Golden Soviva is a 4* hotel.

The hotel was great. I enjoyed it and reading some of the reports people have put in I wonder if they went to the same hotel as I did.

The group I went with didn't like it like all and would say it was the worst holiday they have ever been on.
I will agree with people that the food was not nice at all and it was mainly based on egg. It would have been a lot better if they would at least have cooked them properly my main meal for both breakfast and dinner was the pancakes because they were absolutely fantastic.

The waiters at dinner and breakfast were polite and fast at clearing the table.

On our last day we made the day and through one of the animation staff in the pool. He managed to take his trousers off but went in with his jumper on then made my dad buy him a bottle of beer!!!(lol) Also for the first couple of days they were doing draft beer but then stopped so we had to buy bottles which were more expensive.

If I was to go back I would definitely go back either self catering or half board because I would not be able to eat the food for all three meals of the day.

Another of the let downs of the hotel was that they didn't explain that in the winter the slides in the pool that both hotels shared were shut down. Luckily we managed to get enough people together that wanted the slides turned on to talk the manager into putting them on but they were only on for an hour of two days.

If I was to go back I would go in the high seasons it will definitely be the best holiday ever
