I found this resort to be excellent, both in locality, and cleanliness.
The Marina itself is very charming, with an array of Yachts, Restaurants and gift shops scattered within it.
I feel it had everything that most people would require of a holiday, unless your looking for "fish and chips, Lager louts, or Union Jacks.
I found Tunisa on a whole to be a very refreshing change, attracting a far better class of person to mix with during my holiday.

Enjoyed the resort of Port El Kantaoui very much. Ideal for couples, families.
Marina is beautiful with all the boats.
Friendly people.
Very nice beach. Hotel Kanta had their own private part of the beach.

This is a quiet resort but bustling in the evening around the harbour with all the quayside restaurants and the many gift shops. There are no clubs and all entertainment seems to be provided within the hotels. The local people are very friendly and we enjoyed bartering with the traders.

Port El Kantoui had somthing for everyone, in the day there were lots of water sports fishing trips cruises for children and big kids too. The beach was gorgous very clean golden sands. Watch out for the jelly-fish in the sea few people were stung when we were there. The beach-bars have a good selection of reasonable dinner-time snacks pizza's worked out about £2.00 soft drinks were expensive though. The Marina in Port El Kantoui provided a good selection of shops nice atmosphere at night lots of bargains to be had if your good at bartering you'll do well with leather, jewellery and ceramics. When we return to Tunisia we will certainly stay at Port El Kantoui we felt very safe as there were secutiy men keeping and eye on the tourists at all times. We didnt see any trouble whatsoever.

The resort is very south of France with the lovely marina. It was lovely strolling around here night and day. There were some very big boats there, picked ours out, and it was lovely sitting in the bars drinking and people watching. There were quite a few restaurants too and the usual tourist shops. Have a go haggling, but you do get fed up of it, go to the fixed price shops. You will be surprised how cheap they are, so no need to haggle really. Went out for one boat trip, but found during our stay the sea was a bit choppy, it was fun to sail down the coast though. Sit by the fountain and watch it spring to life with lights, that was nice, and there is a fun fair in the resort as well. While we were there there was a concert in there one night and it was free to watch, it was in arabic but enjoyed it. Nice resort, but not any good for discos and the like. Try popping into other hotels and see what is happening we did and we enjoyed that. Would go again.

This was my fourth visit to this resort and can honestly say that I really like it. It takes a bit of getting used to the haggling but it is also great to have a modern up market area to visit without it being over-run with woolworths and Macdonalds!!! There are lots of small local bars and although not visited this time I know there are one or two local nightclubs.
The private beach at our hotel (Royal Kenz) was superb - clean, fairly quiet apart from the constant beat of Bob Marley from the beach bar. If this bothers you just move nearer to the sea. Some of the best entertainment on the beach is watching the 'beach boys' work the parachutes and banana boats.

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, peaceful and non eventful holiday, this is it. There is NO entertainment at all in the hotel and none in the town either. I am not understating this, generally the entertainment is sitting in the hotel bar having a few beers and that's it.

Very artificial, which we knew before we left but thought there may be some normal life outside of the hotels. The shopkeepers were in the main very aggressive and arrogant. much worse than Morroco. The Marina is pretty but a huge rip off with pestering all of the time. Sousse medina appears to be almost totally tourist offerings.

The actual resort itself it's really good. If you want a nice relaxing time this is the place to be. You get served 24/7. There are other hotels you can visit as they are part of a chain - you can got try out the food & drink there. This hotel has the better location though!
There is a shopping place called the Marina where you can get souveniers or just have a meal / few drinks. It's really modern & nice to walk around. It only costs 3 dinar from the hotel - that's about £1.50!
There are several trips you can go on - we went on a 2 day safari trip to the sahara desert and had the time of our lives. It's a once in a life time experience!!!! Definitely recommend it!!!!!

Port El Kantaoui is an old port (really) and as such is very historic and small - which is a good thing. The resort is only a short trip away by Taxi - £2 one way - to the City of Sousse, which is about the same size as Edinburgh City centre.
As Port El Kantaoui has been purpose biult for the tourists it does rather cover the real Tunisia and this is a blessing because it is a very poor country and the tourism is the biggest import for the Country.
A tip for all the Scottish going over - take whisky as your duty free - you might not like it, but the Tunisians love it. It costs approximately £75 a bottle (75cl) over there so you can always sell them for a lovely profit for say £50 each!
