The beach was full of cigarette ends!!
Not a great deal to do other then the hotel entertainment, and everything is a taxi ride away.

Resort was ok not as good as we expected. Not as modern as the brochure made it out to be. Marina was a nice place to visit at night. Not as good as Hamammet or Skanes.

The resort is well situated and always clean even the bushes and trees are kept in high order and the beach first thing in the morning is a wonderful sight.

Port El Kantoui is one of the best resorts that we have visited .Fantastic eateries , coffee shops and bars, My wife enjoyed a little bartering that is much more relaxed than in Sousse (Just a three pound taxi ride away.)The marina has some beautiful boats and there are trips of all kinds to be had

The resort I stayed in was clean most of the time well all of the time. The entertainment was mostly for kids but entertainment on a Sunday was good it got everybody involved. The beach was nice but I didn’t like the walk down to it people who works in the shops hassled you a lot.

Beach a bit dirty. Beware of the guys selling carpets and newspapers!
The cafe on the beach is OK. The guy selling pottery on the road to the beach reduces his prices if you haggle (and offload your surplus shampoo and your old sandals!)

We loved PEK, the people are lovely and it is very safe. We strolled around during the day and quite late at night with no problems.
During the evening the bars in the main square are bustling and there is a fountain with lights and music, very relaxing. The marina is very nice - make sure you walk all the way round, you can see the coastline as far as Sousse.
We went on the 2 day Safari and although we had heard horror stories about the overnight hotels and toilet facilities along the way, we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was 3*, clean, comfortable and although there was a limited choice of food it was of good standard, fresh and beautifully presented.
All the stops made had clean toilet facilities and we had 3 course lunches in very nice restaurants on both days.
The journey was long, but we were never on the coach for more than 90 minutes, our guide was superb, very knowledgeable and helpful.
We are so glad we weren't put off doing this trip, it was fantastic, the sunrise over the Salt Lakes was breathtaking, the camel ride an adventure and we made some good friends too.
We went into Sousse and visited the Medina, we laughed and joked with the shopkeepers and didn't encounter any problems. I did manage to trade a bottle of fairly ordinary whisky for a very nice leather bag, so that made my day.
As I've said before, we'll definitely be back, we would like to do the catamaran trip, and go to Dougga. To anyone thinking of staying at this resort - have no fears - its brilliant.

Very nice resort, the harbour was a treat but the groups of local lads makes you a little uneasy, barterring is at first a laugh but does get very tedious after a couple of days.

Port El-Kantaoui was a pleasant supprise, nice modern looking marina.
We stayed in Sousse around 30 years ago when things were pretty basic, no beds or chairs on the beach just camels going up and down, so Port El-Kantaouri is a much nicer place, we used to walk in most evenings and sit for a while near the fountain where it looks great when around 8.30 pm the fountain sprngs up in several different colours.
What is annoying is when sitting in a restaurant having a meal or a drink the flowers sellers keep coming round, I know you can say no thankyou, but not all the time you are sitting there, and they poke them right in front of your face and some of them smell really strong (jasmine) makes your headache.
Best to keep out of the shops unless they are the fixed price ones, they drive you up the wall trying to sell you something, worst is they get annoyed if you don't buy anything.
The Le Mediterranee Restaurant was really good, the waiters outnumber the customers but this is a classy restaurant with good food on the menu and prices reasonable.
Noticed a lot of cats walking among people in some of the restaurants (down in area of the fountain).
The resort is nice and clean no litter sprawled about anywhere.
Entertainment I can't comment on that as we just like to have a stroll after the evening meal with a sit down and do a bit of people watching.

Glad we stayed in Port El Kantoui as I thought the resort was a good choice.
I went out diving (as I am qualified) with the boys from the Dive school right round the other side of the harbour who came into the hotel to do try dives in the pool. They were very good and looked after me very well.
We got a tuk tuk to the main town (Sousse?) and it was hillarous! Glad to get back to the resort in one piece!!
There was quite a lot to do in the resort and looked like quite a choice for food but as we were HB and the food was good at the Kanta we did not eat out.
One lunchtime we do go to the golf club and have a nice lunch outside overlooking the course. Very nice and quite and civilised!
Our evening entertainment was normally Dinner at the Kanta then out to the resort for a drink/walk to see what was going on. It was very amusing with all the life sized camels in the shops and there was quite a lot of looking and spying at the locals which kept me amused!
However some of the locals used to stare quite a lot and make whistle noises (now I dont rate myself but I suppose a size 12 blonde with long hair and young (ish!) female with her parents might have been an invite to say I was single?)
We had a go at Parasending on the beach from the recomendation of a 62 year old lady from the hotel as she said they were very good and looked after you. They were. I was terrified and the whole beach probably heard the Eeeekkkkk! as I went up but it was fab! Mum and dad did it too!
Port El Kantoui is a nice place, yes it is commercialised but it still has a good traditional feel and I would go back especially to the Kanta.
