Port El Kantaoui marina is very nice, with restaurants and bars around the perimiter and a few shops. Nice place to visit.

The cleanliness of the resort wasnt bad, entertainment was completely diabolical!

I have never seen such a dirty beach- it was covered in camel and horse droppings! There was also a sewer outlet coming onto the beach .

Also it was a bit annoying that if you wanted to go any where or do anything you had to get a taxi.

The resort is lovely but I'm not a touchy feely person and Tunisian folk just love to come up to you and kiss. My little girl was clung to me for two weeks scared to death someone was going to take her and as I wouldn't encourage her to be friendly to strangers at home I found it hard to deal with in Tunisia without offending.

Women get lots of male attention too and that ring on your finger doesn't mean anything to them either.

On the whole a beautiful desert country but the culture was just too different for us and I didn't feel safe without my husband around and unless my kids were shackled together outside of the hotel.

This holiday is perfect for girls on the pull who will appreciate the male attention and who love to sit on the beach as the beaches are absolutely glorious.

Also go here in summer as the weather in December was sunny but blooming freezing.

It was fairly quiet as was off-season but the marina was lovely and the fountain display at night was pretty.

Plenty of shops, bars/restaurants to visit.

The beaches are lovely and you can walk quite a way along them.

Sousse and the medina was quite scary due to the volume of local people about. It was coming to the end of Ramadam though so preperations were under way for their celebrations.

Plenty of bargains to be had in the Soula centre in Sousse also, better as fixed-prices, no haggling to be done!!

What can I say?

This is the first and last time we will ever visit Tunisia.

The local’s fleece you at every opportunity, and traders are the very worst we have ever come across. It got to the point where we did not want to enter the marina because of the relentless hassle you got, and the way they spoke to and manhandled women holiday makers was nothing short of assault.

The beach was filthy with plastic bottles, glass, fag ends and what appeared to be sewerage. This would explain the vile stench that was ever present around the whole resort.

To say Tunisia is filthy is an understatement.

The excursions we went on were designed to rip you off as much as possible at every opportunity.

They have no pride in the way they cater for and look after foreigners, and don’t give a damn about anything unless they think your going to spend money.

There was not a single person who enjoyed their stay in Tunisia from the 7 hotels we picked up at on the way home, and who couldn’t wait to get back home. Everyone had the same complaints as I have written here.

I have traveled much of the world now and visited many poor countries, but I've never been to a country that I have hated as much as Tunisia.

I truly hope that people who read this will look elsewhere for a holiday and be spared the holiday from hell that we had.

The resort of Port-El-Kantanoui is a modern place with all the facilities geared towards the holiday maker. There is enough to satisfy all but the pickiest of travellers. The only problem is the incessant use of TV catchphrases by the shop keepers, it does spoil the illusion of holidaying somewhat. The beach was right outside the hotel but realy required cleaning more regularly several times I rose from my lounger and trod on old cigarette buts and wrappers. All in all a pleasant place to visit.
