we stayed at the Iberostar hotel Sahara beach, it was fantastic. My family has been going there for year, and they have never complained bout a thing.
I would like to say how brilliant our waiter was Jimi who brought us two drinks for when we arrived.
Lol the entertainment crew were so coo, funny and polite always trying to get everyone involved. Round the pool activities were so fun I was on my own cause my boyfriend was a lazy bum and didn't like to interact {hes boring} lol but still joined in cause it was so wicked.
Everyone so happy polite and everyone just chilled. On the beach the water sports is wicked recommend you take alot of money I couldn't stay away from them lol its so clean and safe...

The hotel is clean and the rooms on the small side but adequate as we didn't really spend much time in them this wasn't a problem. The balconies are great as everyone gets a sea view but they are designed so you are not too overlooked from your own block. There is a little clothes airer on the wall which is very useful and I took some string and pegs to dry the swimming costumes overnight. There are plenty of hangers in the wardrobes.
The food is typical all-inclusive fare. You get allocated your own table in the restaurant and this is yours for the duration which is a great idea. The food was good. Breakfasts were a bit unusual but we always found something we liked, always eggs in some form and breads, croissant, jams, chocolate spread, cerials, yoghurt, fruit salad. Occasionally there was bacon but it was very streaky and there were frankfurters most mornings. Lunch and tea were much the same as each other soups, chips, pasta, rice, fish, chicken, beef, pork, salads, the lasagna was lovely. For afters there were always a variety of cakes which were lovely and fruit and ice-cream. Our 6 year old is a fussy eater and she ate well and had a balanced diet. We all did have a dodgy tummy from time to time which you could put down to the heat or over-indulgence or the food but we had the diacalm tablets so this was no problem.
We always found the staff to be friendly, if you make the effort to be friendly to them. We tipped little and often and had no problems.
We went at a busy time of year so you did have to get up early to put your towels on the sunbed if you wanted a sunshade. The pools are big and clean. No waterfall into the pool though. The inside pool was good, nice and cool after baking in the sun!
Money is easy to change, there is a money desk by reception. Phones are easy too and it was quite cheap to phone home.
This hotel isn't the Hilton. You won't get the same level of luxury but you do get what you pay for. It's the kind of hotel that doesn't sleep, there is always something going on.
They could do some things better, beach towels would be good. They certainly need more toilets and they could do with having a member of staff permanently on duty in the main ones.
Go with an open mind and make your mind up for yourselves, we did and we weren't disappointed.

The Hotel is divided into three large blocks with 2 large swimming pools and a childrens pool and is directly on the beautiful sandy beach.
The rooms are basic but clean and the maid comes every day, all have balcony with sea view.
The food was fine: breakfast had some weird combinations but there was always cereal, toast, fresh breads, fresh fruit and eggs of some sort. Lunch & Dinner was meats, fish, chips, potatoes, salad, pizza, pasta, soup, veg, frsh breads, cakes, mousse, ice cream, fresh fruit.
Our waiter 'Jimmy'was very friendly and couldn't have done enough for us.
We had no problem with the Marwa bottled water and on checking the ingredients against other types it had nothing different in it.
The AI drinks were basic own brands, lager, vodka, bacardi etc and then soft drinks, hot drinks and water. We didnt eat a lot of the snacks as the three meals were enough but I noticed people went to the beach snack bar more than the pool one.
The first week people were getting up a FIVE to put towels on beds which is unbelieveable especially as they are not supposed to be put on till 7.30am but by the second week signs were put up saying that the towls would be removed. But if like us you are on holiday for a break and would prefer to lie in till nine then for a couple of dinars a days the pool men will supply you with beds regardless of what time you go down, just ask at the place you get the mats from.
We mainly went to the Skanes bar which played films or music each night, The outside entertainment was geared towards children, there was a piano bar and a German bar and 24 hr bar at main reception but AI is only up to 12am. The arab cafe and pizza place were nice for a change but were not included in AI.
The were a few shops, one where you could buy papers, crisps, chocolate etc but they are expenisive. There was market stalls on the way to food hall and a market on a Friday but it was a big area and they did not bother you.
You need to haggle with them whatever price they ask you for take 75% off and start from there but don't pay them any more than 50% of the asking price.
The staff were very nice, I couldn't fault and of them. They live off tips so a few dinar(50p/

MEALS
Normal continental breakfast with hot food eg: beans, fatty streaky bacon, runny scrambled eggs, different veg most days apart from rattatouie which near the end of our holiday had been put out 4 days on the trot, the veg in it was from the night before. So if you like that sort of stuff great.
Adviced not to drink the water and only found out 2 days before coming home the fruit juice was powder which they added tap water, out of the 12 of us 11 were ill with stomach cramps and the runs for most of the holiday.
Lunch was mainly what they could make out of the left overs from the night before.most of our party had soup and bread roll as you get fed up of the same.
Dinner had a couple of nice things eg: chicken, lasagne which you had to be quick for as everybody wanted it.
The food at the outdoor bars was pizza, hot dogs, beefburgers and tuna baguettes, the pizzas were fine if you got them just as they came out of the oven, if you wanted tuna or anchovies and olive on they just got a hand full out of the fridge and threw it on .Hot dogs on hard baguettes, beefburgers no flavour and tuna baguette, was tuna on stale baguettes with a bit of tomato and cucumber and you have to be quick as at the top bar they threw them at you.
The staff inside the hotel were friendly.
ENTERTAINMENT
Bingo in about four different langagues, cabaret boring, spent most nights in reception as this seemed to be the place to go, entertainment was that most people were playin cards.
We would never visit this hotel again or tunisia as there is alot more nicer places in the world.

Hotel was kept very clean, our rooms were great two inter-connecting rooms kept very clean towels changed every day sheets twice/three a week.
The food was adequate for our stay our children ate well and so did we. The varied dishes were good cosidering they were feeding over 2.000 guests. We had no problems with queing up. Served well in the restaurant and great service outside.
The staff were fantastic, we were freindly to them and they were friendly back. They couldn't do more for you.
The entertainment was excellant. All of the animation team worked very hard from 9am to 11.30 sometimes 12midnight. Our children never went to bed before 11.30pm. Congratulations, to all the shows they did. Lion King,Moulin Rouge, musicals, comedy , grease, strong man will we will never forget the spinning man!!!20 out of 10 for them excellent. Our childern became so attached to them. We cannot speak more highly of them well done. WE WERE ENTERTAINED. My husband and I did water areobics every morning I did belly dancing and salsa while my husband played water polo , volley ball and basketball. The children went to the Thompsons kids club but enjoyed the hotel kids club as they were more involved with the shows in the evening. Both girls were on the stage dancing, recieving certificates. throughout our stay. If you want to be entertained, pool and beach holiday it is for you.

The hotel was clean, the towels were changed every day and the room cleaned every day. The staff in the hotel and restaurant were very friendly but we did find the bar staff outside very rude and they did not know the meaning of the words please and thankyou, but don't be put off by that. Didn't have to que long for food or drinks, mainly just walked right up and got served, kids ate mainly in the outside snack bars at lunch time and we always ate in the restaurant. My husband had to get up very early to get a sunbed in the shade, there was no shortage of sunbeds but there could of been a few more sunshades as the sun is very strong and you would find it hard to sit all day with no shade. The swimming pools were great and very clean, we noticed that they were cleaned every day and there was always some life guards on duty. The entertainment was ok and they put on some good shows in the evening, kids didn't go to bed until at least 11.30. In all we found this hotel very safe for the kids and once inside it was like a little village with a few shops and plenty for the kids to do. The horse riding was good value and the horses were fairly well looked after as they belong to the police, kids could hire a bike for an hour for a couple of dinars, and crazy golf and windsurfing was included if you were all inclusive. I would rate this holiday as good value for money and would almost certainly return there.
