The Beach was spotless and uncrowded with plenty of sunbeds provided by the hotel.
Side was buzzing at night the markets are a must ! if only to chat Haggle and laugh with the locals. They adore the english.
Buses are regular although can be crowded but cheap !
Taxis are great if you like michael shumacher style driving but haggle with then to get a bargain ride they love it!
There are plenty of historical places to visit and it is easy to arrange sight seeing trips which are relatively with meals included.

You will need prtection for your feet on the beach (sharp stones) and the sand DEFINATELY not white.
Side Market - to sum it up, I quote one of the shop keepers, "Ma'am, will you spend 5 minutes in my shop to look at my rubbish." And rubbish it is. Tacky copies of top designer items, one look at the barbage and it will be seized at customs. Shop keepers bugging you non-stop. Prices - NOT CHEAP.
If you are looking for a cheap holiday in the sun and require no special services, if you are the type that enjoys pontins but in a nicer hotel and abroad sprawling with lobster red tourists, then this is right up your street.

Cleanliness no problem, not much litter around to be seen. Titreyen Gol, the nearest resort wakes up at night and is bustling with people looking for bargains or or a place to eat and drink. Local people very friendly. Side, nearest town a pleasure to walk through but getting used to over friendly shopkeepers takes a bit of time. But have a go and barter with them, some great bargains to be had even though most are fakes.

went out into the resort as well, can recommended the queen restaurant ( has pool tables and internet cafe at the rear ). we had 3 lovely meals here. this was at the strip in front of the arum, plenty of shops and bars etc here. we only went into side itself once, its about 4 kilometres down the beach and takes at least 50 mins to walk, but it is a nice walk there and back, you can of course get the dolmus or taxi. we ate at the mexican restaurant called chillis, this was very good and friendly staff. cosmos charged the earth for trips, so we used local operators to do ours, white water rafting £30.00 what a great day, boat trip £42.00 and jeep safari £50.00, all brill days and we got a good deal as they let my 14yr old go as a child ( under 12 ). The only down side to the arum is the entertainment, while its very good and beautiful costumes, its basically just the same show in a different format every night, everything is geared for the germans. they get a ten min explanation, the british get one min. the staff also speak very limited english so if you like to sit and chat with the waiters, you can't do it here. service is very good though and the snack bar does lovely cheap food, but its only open until 5.00pm. this resort is lovely, but be prepared, its more expensive than other turkish resorts, the turks speak german as their second language and we didn't see any dancing waiters in the bars or quiz nights etc. ( not our thing, but the kids always like watching the dancing and doing the quiz's) also euro is the excepted currency and you will get a better deal, for ex i was charged 13 euros for some drinks ( £8.20ish) but when it was converted to lira for me it was 25mil (£9.60ish) this happened a lot. we loved this hotel and will be booking again next year hopefully. well worth its 4/5 star status.

On the whole the resort was very clean. The local village however was not. It was your typical small Turkish village. Very jaded and poor.
Kamelya resort has its own shops on the premises which are very good. The village has a small market and there are shops in both hotels.About 200 yds up the road is a small market with all your t-shirts? etc. Where you are told "cheaper than ASDA" or TESCO's
The Beach is 99% sand with a little shingle. Plenty of sunbeds and pallets to go round. Feet washing stations a plenty. And your ever present water sport station offering paraseiling, Jet Skis etc. It does a roaring trade.
All in all a lovely place to stay and it doesn't feel like there are 3 big hotels sharing the area.

The resort was very pleasant, plenty of restaurants with friendly staff making everybody feel welcome. Lovely walks up the beach into Side with plenty of restaurants on the sea front. Plenty of excursions to choose from but especially the Final Delight which is absolutely a delight with a days cruising onboard a gullet. Then onto a hotel for your evening meal before setting off to the airport for your return journey.

I have no hesitation in recommending Side as a resort. although it is geared toward the more Germanic market we found that in shops and restuarants the staff mainly spoke excellent English and were extremely friendly. Side itself was ancient city and is rich in historic architecture. the remains of the Temples of Appollo and Athena which over look the harbour are an impressive sight, as is the Amitheatre at the entrance of the town. There still seemed to be a lot of excavation going on along the roadside from the main resort into the old town. Sandwiched between these fabulous peices of history lies a myriad of shops and restuarants selling a huge range of things from the usual tat to spices and fine crafted jewellery. Be careful as you sho though... I almost bought a air of shoes in 'odd' sizes. We had a lovely afternnon in Chillis restuarant down by the harbour, really friendly staff, great icecream and a mercifully cooling breeze.
One thing I would definately recommend against is going to the beach on your own if you are female...I was stalked in the water to such an extent one afternoon I had to leave by one particular man. We had no trouble any of the times we wentr as a family.
Excursions I would recommend would be the Manavgat River Cruise, which includes a trip to Manavgat Market and boat ride past terrapins and pelicans to where the river meets the sea...the ferocious current is a real rush. Also the Thomson last day waterfall/ airport hotel trip is a fabulous way to wind down from the holiday. On the whole I would have no fears in recommending this resorts for a family holiday.
