Side itself is a pleasant destination but the resort where all the holiday ccomodation is is very spread out in little clusters. Lots of space between each little huddle of shops and restuarants-very spread ot for my liking. Beach is huge with extremely good selection of water sports but beach not very clean. lots of cigarette ends-sand not cleaned at night.
The local shop and restaurant owners are very persistent and get a bit waring after a couple of days. Be prepared to be pestered to spend your money in their establishment.
Must sees are the ruins and apoloos temple at sunset- a worthwhile trip for that alone. Also lots of turtles in teh bay which was lovely to see.

Fantastic beach lovely golden sand and shallow water.Acess may be a problem to those with walking difuculties due to most of the hotels having steps down to the beach.

the area that we stayed in was a lovely quiet place during the day and then at night it was great music,dancing and late night shopping. the only entertainment in the resort was the bars and the shops well and the beach but it was a really nice place to be. the beach itself was really nice and clean and it loads of activities you could do for example parasailing or the crazy banana ride and jet ski. the walk there to the beach is 5 minutes which is okay because its not too far.

The resort caters a lot for the German and scandinavian tourist - so expect to be greeted occasionally in German. This didn't cause any problems, as the Turks seemed bi-lingual and fluent in German and English.
The standard of the beach makes up for the lack of recliners around the pool area. The beach is ten minutes walk away, but there is a shuttle bus - out the back of the hotel by the pool/tennis courts, up the hill, turn right, cross and then left and you're there. It's great! You'll find a bar and food from twelve'ish until two. Free sun beds and an attendant. There is also free water and cordial drinks on offer. There are beach activities available and trip, which run from a small pier. These are cheap and cheerful - £10 for a trip that ran from 9 - 5:30.
If you prefer the pool, then get up early and still reserve - all of the sun beds are gone by eight o'clock. this was probably our biggest gripe, but we preferred the beach any way.

Side is the old Roman town of PAPHYLLIA, the place was crawling with Graeco-Roman archaology! I personally enjoy that, but for those of you who dont Side has a very nice centre, which is pedestrianised most hours of the day. Plenty of shops and bars, and if you walk right down to the harbour end there are hundreds of restaurants.
Many of the shops sell genuine fake watches. I went into GALERIE and was served by Ulas,he spoke very good English and gave me a good deal.down by the harbour we used Aphrodites restaurant, a very good meal but a bit pricey, though you expect that in a very touristy prime seafront location!

If you go out the hotel grounds onto the main street you can get a hair cut, shave, massage every bit of facial removed all for 5 euros Oscars next to the gold shop(don’t forget your security pass it get back in with).
I even took my 14 year old girl to get her eyebrows plucked. If you go shopping the word "browsing" does not mean anything, you just cannot look without someone jumping out and saying "cheap as chips, the best Rolex in Turkey" but you can a have a good laugh with them.
If you go to the beach turn left and the first place you come to offering boat trips book it. You get a sight seeing trip with food all for 8 euros and you are out for at least 8 hours fantastic well worth it. Don’t forget your sun cream.

I thought Side itself was a lovely place full of typically Turkish entrepenaur style people, treat them politely and with respect and you will enjoy your stay.
You don't need to buy anythinh from them, just have a look, they will love you for it.
Accept their hospitality and you will never need to buy a drink for the duration of the stay.
I loved it!!
Take a trip to Antalya, but be warned, dress appropriately, none of your skimpy clothes that reveal too much flesh. It was frowned upon during our visit.

Side is a bustling tourist resort with lots of narrow streets filled with shops selling all sorts of goods!Many fine sites of antiquity to visit and a nice harbour and lovely sandy beach.

Outside of the hotel Side itself has been hugely developed all along this excellent beach. Transport into Side is very easy just put out your hand for a Dolmerche and for 50p it runs you in and out till the early hours. In fact it is a very busy place even at midnight . If you like fake designer clothes, shoes, belts and jewellery then Side is for you as it is packed with them, almost every single shop except for the restaurants around the harbour. The roman ruins and amphitheatre have most been lost in this mad and sometimes aggressive throng to part you with your money. Turkey is not cheap any more and even a fake leather designer belt will at the very best cost £8 far more than a few years ago.

Side is very tidy and well kept,the beaches seemed very clean,the entertainment appears to be what is wanted as all the clubs and so on were busy.
