Worth paying all inclusive for the drinks, but not the food. Expect to eat out occasionally.
Best rooms: Ground floor, facing the pool.

Beaches

Hisaronu is a busy, lively resort with very friendly people. Loads to do, with many restaurants having evening entertainment. Great choice of food - Turkish, English, pasta and pizza. Easy access to lovely local beaches by either taxis or dolmus (bus). Local market every Monday. Small water park which was great for all ages and the staff were very helpful with small children.
Lots of day trips for all ages – history, boat trips, jeep safaris.
Olu Deniz worth an evening visit to chill out on beanbags on the beach.
Hisaronu is slightly cooler than the coastal resorts and less humid which we found more comfortable.

We all loved Hisaronu, the beaches were wonderful and so too are the people. We met some great people who have lots of time to sit and talk and take an interest, especially with the children. We are definitely going to go back next year.
We ate at an excellent restaurant called 'Kafkas' which is towards the end of the resort as its a new builing. Matt who owns the restaurant is also the chef, we spent most of our nights there as it was excellent value for money and fabulous food. You must try it out!!!
Look out for a bar called 'The Black Pearl'(this is oposite Kafkas) owned by a great guy called Taz and his family. We had lots of laughs there...
If you shop around in the resort you can get great value for money when eating out, we often had a discount or a free drink with the meal, don't be afraid to barter!
I would like to make you aware that spirits over in Turkey are quite expensive, the local spirits are cheaper but if you like a tipple then make a visit to duty free and take you own!!!

The people around the resort are wonderful and warm and friendly. Although the area does suffer from severe commercialism. You cannot walk down the street without being harangued by shop keepers or restaurant owners enticing you in to their establishments. It can get a bit tiresome after a while. There's obviously no Trading Standards in operation here, either, as cheap copies of world famous brands are abundant, be it clothing, perfume or other items. Do not pay the asking price. Barter; haggle; you will get it cheaper. However, don't expect top quality. Buyer beware! Also be aware that some of the 'salesmen' can be very aggressive in their pursuit of your money. Especially in the market where I was actually grabbed by the wrist by one stall-holder in order to stop me walking away without buying anything. Take English money with you - especially when paying in local restaurants as it is cheaper to pay in pounds rather than Turkish lira.
Do take advantage of the different trips that are available such as jeep safari or jump on a Dolmus to be taken to the nearest beach. It is nice to get away for a day. And make sure you have plenty of suntan lotion - high factor because it is very, very hot! If this is your cup of Turkish tea then you will have a wonderful time. Personally, having been there once - I'm in no hurry to rush back.

You do not need to leave the hotel as all essentials are there. But if you do wish to see more of Turkey, the Dolmuº' circulate every three minuites and can transport you to Fethiye, Hisaronu and Olu Deniz. The word Dolmuº translates as stuffed, and you really are stuffed in! But they are considerably less cheaper than Taxis.
Most nights we took a Dolmuº into Hisaronu, and every meal we had was delicious! Because there are soo many restaurants in such a little space, there is lots of competition, so every restaurant will treat you like stars.
There is soo much to do and see whether it be day or night; during the day there are a variety of boat trips and Jeep safari's to endure, or trips to places such as Pammukale, Ephusis, Kayakoy ETC. There are also Parachutes availiable which allow you to see panoramic views of the resort (although they have a tendancy to land in the sea!) If you like bars and clubs, Hisaronu is pedestrainised at night which allows you to easily access the clubs, bars restuarants and shops. There are two markets; Hisaronu Market is on a Monday and on Tuesday Fethiye hosts another. If you like beaches, take the Dolmuº down to Olu Deniz, the most over photographed beach in Turkey, and I promise you will not be disappointed! Although I reccommend beach shoes as the sand can get very hot during peak season! Hotel Orka also has it's own lagoon at Olu Deniz, if you speak to a member of staff they can give you access to a free transport service to this area.

Beach at Olu Deniz was red hot on the day we visited, children found it slightly uncomfortable but with umbrellas for shade they managed. Rocks into water quite slippy but being careful they managed.
Hisaronu more lively than our hotel and obviously deals on offer but if you want true luxury visit Montana and have the best of both worlds.
