Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

Our first time in Icmeler and I have to say I was surprised. After staying in Olu Deniz last year which was quiet, I was under the impression that Icmeler was the same. I was wrong.
However once we got our bearings, it seemed that Icmeler was spread out into 3 areas. The Old town, the main square, and the beach and canal area.
The old town was lovely and quiet and for us, provided the best restaurants, these being Mezen, Cubana and Turbo Chef.
Never had a bad meal once and they serve good authentic Turkish cuisine. Most of our meals cost around YTL 25-50 including drinks. You must try the Ottoman Gloden Plate at Cubana, fantastic!
In the main town we ate at the Anatolian and The Angel again both fantastic food. The Angel is a bit special perhaps for that last night meal.
None of these reataurants gave you any hassle to enter which is what we liked as the food said it all. Another observation was that they always had Turkish customers.
On occasion we did feel that walking down Icmeler main street was like running the gauntlet when it came to the restaurant/shop owners. However, we did take into consideration that 2006 was a particularly bas season for the ownwers of the businesses so competition was fierce. It's our money which dictates how they live through the winter months. When you look at it that way we kind of accepted it. By the second week we had formulated a plan of zig zag action across the road to avoud the more persistant ones! I have to say though, a simple smile and a polite no thanks was all it took. We all have to make a living.
Beach was lovely although a little dirty around the jetty areas, but as we were pool people, I can't comment any further.
Overall, a great resort. Entertainment on your doorstep if you want it, quiet setting in the old town if you want something different.
Best bars Wonder Boys and Chill Out.

Icmeler is a lot quieter (and dare I say more up-market) than Marmaris and excellent for families with younger children.
Beach is beautifully clean (sandy) and sun-beds only cost £1.00 per day. Lots of choice of good restaurants and bars to suit all - from Turkish, Chinese, Indian and typical English Food. Restaurants provide free entertainment most nights and the 'hassle' factor seemed less than before (i.e. 10 years ago!).
Numerous
excursions - horse riding, jeep safari, loads of boat trips and all are really reasonable (full day boat trip including lunch was £30.00 for a family of four, jeep safari £40.00 whole day & lunch - great fun)! Funky doughnut rides (rings attached to back of speed boats) were £8 and great fun for 15 minutes! All trips can be booked cheaply in the resort and you can haggle if you do more than one trip with them (they do provide insurance).
The Turkish people are lovely and will offer you Apple Tea/Turkish Delight whilst doing a deal!! All music finishes (or is turned down) at midnight which means you can sit for a quiet drink after this or go to bed and actually go to sleep. We will definitely return here and the kids had 'the best holiday yet'!!

Icmeler is a lovely family resort, and very pretty. The hotel is located within easy reach of all bars and local restaurants, and the canal.
The resort itself is laid back, lively but not unbearably so. It still has a charm. There was quite a lot of hassle from the "getter inners" outside the bars this year, perhaps because the resort was very quiet but just a "perhaps later" usually suffices.
This was our third visit to Icmeler, we love it. The back of the hotel backs straight onto the beach, the sea was really warm, there are showers on the beach which is shingle.

Icmeler is fantastic in every way. This was our second visit there in four years and we are returning again at the beginning of October for a week.
If you want somewhere with more 'action', Marmaris is only a short Dolmus or water-taxi ride away.
Our 21 year old daughter went to Areena on Bar Street in Marmaris and said it was the one club to visit!
Icmeler is very clean and tidy. Shop owners can be seen at all times of day and night ensuring their 'space' is kept imacculate.
The 'No Hassle' rule does not always work. The majority of shop owners do operate this policy, but you will always find other who flaunt it!
The beach is very clean and the water is a beautiful clear blue.
Having visited several resorts in Turkey, Icmeler is the one we always return to!

This was our first time in Turkey & we stayed in Icmeler. I can honestly say that its my favourite holiday destination. Nice & quiet but plenty to do. We were going to go to Marmaris but I'm so glad we didn't. We were close enough to go there if we wanted but we had the choice of staying in Icmeler if we fancied something not so lively. The resort was very clean and locals very very friendly. Can't wait to go back!!

This was our 3rd visit to Icmeler and we loved it just as much as the first. There is an abundance of bars and restaurants to choose from, all serving excellent food. Our personal favourites were The Love Boat, Titanic, Champagne and the Amore

Our 3rd time to Icmeler in a year. You will get addicted to this resort.I never wanted to visit Turkey but how glad I am that I did.
Views are spectacular and people are so, so friendly.Once you have been once they WILL remember you.Tours are daily and very good for the price you pay.Very cheap. YES, you do get hassle but a polite no is all that is needed. The Amalia pub and resturant is a must, what a laugh.
The beach is shingle and plenty of sun beds for all.Music MUST be turned down at midnight which is very good when you need to sleep. There is always Dolmus's or the boat taxi to Marmaris if you want a late night out.
People are so friendly and will help you with any problems you have. Would we return????? arrived home this morning and I am off to look at next years prices now.
Happy holidays in Icmeler, YOU wont regret it I know for a fact.

The resort is very orientated towards the English and plenty of restaurants catered of UK food tastes.
From our experience we preferred restaurants on the side roads rather than the busy main road ones. The one exception to this was the lighthouse by the cash machines in the square which was a little more expensive but the food was really first class, with the best Steak I have had since going to the US.
The beach is shingle and our children really didn’t enjoy it that much, but as we had a really good pool at our hotel we stayed their for most of the time.
The trips are a mixed bag, we had a great time on the Jeep Safari but be prepared to get very wet and also take a water gun with you as other jeeps will soak you. But we found the package boat trips and visit to Dylan a bit disappointing, although the turtle beach is fantastic. When we go next time I am going to try and rent a car to visit a few places on our own such as the mud baths and also book smaller boats just to ourselves.
The main advantage is that Icmeler and Turkey still offers great value for money particularly compared to other EEC resorts and places like Cyprus.
Don’t forget be prepared to haggle this will save you money!!
