Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

I can't imagine going even one year without going to Icmeler, The people are fantastic and extremely helpful, there is something for everyone, plenty of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. For the first time last year we were unfortunate enough to need medical attention for one of our party and she could not have got better treatment in a private hospital anywhere in the UK, within 2 minutes of walking in to the Academia health centre (the one near the wed market) she was on a drip, within 15 she had had xrays and we were looking at the results, the story goes on and on (5 days of on and on actually) but to cut a long story short any fears of treatment I would receive if needed in Turkey has gone.

Icmeler is a relatively quiet and relaxed resort, suitable for young families, and older couples looking to unwind. Not much in the way of nightlife for party animals. Having said that, myself and my partner (both in our mid twenties) found exactly the right mix of bars and restaurants and if you want something more buzzing, a short boat or taxi trip away is Marmaris where there is no shortage of shops, clubs and bars. Beach can get fairly busy throughout the day so get in early to reserve your sunbed (two million lire each)Also highly recommend the med cruise offered by Thomas Cook and any of the water sports on offer...though don't necessarily book through them as you can find cheaper deals through "Trigger" or any of the guys with their stalls along the beachfront.

This was our second visit to Icmeler and I couldn’t bear to think it will be my last. The people are the friendliest I’ve ever known I really feel like I left a second family behind. I cried a lot when I left!! I’m so very sad!
We booked through Icmeler Online, they were fantastic the transfers were far better considering they sent a mini bus just for us so the drive home didn’t involve 50 thousand drop offs to every hotel in Marmaris first!!!
The first week of my holiday was amazing I don’t think I stopped for breath half the time never mind spending time with my family before I leave for university, just didn’t happen! As I was visiting my friend at the time, Levent (famous kitchen restaurant) he really showed me how to have a good time whether it was just swimming in the pool or tripping off to Gokova beach with his friends including Rami and John who run Icmeler Online we never stopped laughing! Levent’s trick of pretending to drown under our canoe when John tipped us out (cos he couldn’t bear the thought of losing the race to a girl) had us in stitches all week his face was a picture I’ll never forget! I thought John was about to commit murder!
The only problem with Icmeler is the beach the sand is a bit crappy but the water sports on offer are brilliant, on our last day my family rented a speed boat for about £30 for an hour of us and raced around the bays like mad men the sea is beautiful and so we couldn’t resist diving in, even if climbing back in the boat proved difficult for some with less upper body strength!!!
The night life in Icmeler is also brilliant there’s defiantly something for everyone which says a lot for our family, while I wanted to naughty dance on the bar every opportunity I got my 15 year old sister who’s a little more dignified than myself enjoyed the entertainment at the Venice bar on the canal which is a must see for girls of any age while the guys dancing on the bar maybe a little suggestive even my dad enjoyed the Michael Jackson impersonator. Be prepared to join in the atmosphere is electric.
You have to drink to enjoy Icmeler as I found out after spending my second week on antibiotics, but the cocktails everywhere are not to be missed the fishbowls are fun if there’s a group of you.
As the music is turned of in the bars in the centre of Icmeler at midnight if your planning to stay out all night like myself either head to the canal for some family entertainment or Marmaris is only 5-10 mins away by taxi for some fantastic clubs along bar street that rival even those in our own big cities.
The restaurants in Icmeler are also of a really high standard and there is defiantly something yummy for everyone. Even though most are relatively the same do look around n don’t be taken in by the hassle. One place I should suggest is the Old Famous Kitchen we spent most nights there and defiantly check out one of the Holiday Truths parties if you get the chance.
On a whole I love Icmeler and would recommend it to anyone, I’m hoping to go back in September before my law degree starts final fling so to speak, whether alone or with family I know I will be safe there.
I still feel cheated about losing my second week to illness. However one thing I can say about the hospital I went in was that it puts ours to same no-one should ever be worried about being ill there if I was going to be in hospital anywhere id rather it was there. The doctors and nurses where great even if they did use my ass as a pincushion!!! In fairness though I was taken straight to my own room n was put on an IV drip in minutes with anti-biotic and fluids for my dehydration they even let Levent stay and hold my hand all night!!
Hope I’ve been informative through my whitering!! Maybe I’ll c you in September.

A very clean resort with no litter on the streets (makes a welcome change from the UK)..their is something for everyone at night time in Icmeler..
The beach is sand/shingle and is very clean some sunbeds are at a charge and some are free (if you by drinks etc)
I would recommend this resort to anyone and would visit again one day...

Icmeler is a lovely resort lots of bars and restaurants our favourite was The Love Boat. The beach is shingle but nice the water is lovely and blue. I would recommend the scuba diving with Divers Delight it was excellent. There is a market one day week and there are plenty of shops especially jewellers where you can get excellent quality jewellery but remember to haggle because you can always get the price down.

icmeler was one of the cleanest resorts we have ever been to and we have been to a few.the resort entertainment did offer something for everyone and the locals made you feel very welcome. as far as the beach was concerned, we are not really beach people but what we could see was it was very crowded with loungers etc.we would come back to icmeler again as it was good fun and we had a lot to do. i prefer this to marmaris as it is cleaner and friendlier.

Icmeler is much smaller than the neighbouring resort of Marmaris but still has plenty of bars and restaurants. We liked this resort better because we thought it was a bit more select than Marmaris which we thought was more built-up and commercialised. A lot of the bars were very lively with music playing and the waiters dancing on the bars.
Many of the hotels had their own section of beach which was extremely well laid out with sunbeds and umbrellas. There were plenty of watersports and you could also get a taxi-boat to neighbouring Marmaris.

We have been going to icmeler now for five years and I would not go anywhere else now for my main holiday. We have made lots of good friends over the years (turkish) and it is so nice when you go back to meet up with them all again. You are spoilt for choice for food and entertainment but I would recommend Venice and Old famous kitchen for good food and entertainment. We didn't go down to the beach this year but every other year it has been fine but sometimes it can get to busy, we were quite happy to stay round the pool. I would recommend Icmeler to anybody.

The resort of Icmeler was very family friendly, the turkish people were lovely with me children and helped however they could.
