Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

Icmeler is becoming a home from home. We have friends in many jewelers (Ebru and Millennium) and bag shops who are quote happy to sit with you and provide you with a free Efes or apple tea and chat away with you. We also "lunch" daily at the Kontes as it is right off the beach and they are the best group of waiters and waitresses (Hi Gushen) you will ever meet. We spend most of our nights in here too as well as the other Hotels (Coco Beach) and the Three Bells. The music is turned down around 1am as the resort dies down a bit. The police do enforce this too.If you want a livier nighlife, a dolmus or water taxi ride will take you into Marmaris.
Icmeler has a small village feel and all the inhabitants are lovely. You have never experienced hospitality until you have been to Turkey.

We would normally walk down town most evenings, which took about 20 mins, but always got transport back (hic!). You may as well take a taxi/dolmus as the little train took us an age to get back one night and costs the same anyway! - 5,000,000 TL (£2.50p) and your home in mins.
The only thing that got us down was the hassle from some of the waiters and bar staff as we walked passed the very many bars and restaurants. I can already hear some of you shouting "What's the matter. It's only a bit of fun. Where's your sense of humour?" Well, at times it got passed that. I enjoy a laugh (and a drink) as much as anyone but it was, at times, relentless. Some restaurants had two staff, one on each end, and even though it was clear we declined the offer to dine/drink (politley, by the way) the other who clearly saw this would still hassle us the other end! I'm afraid "No thanks. We've already eaten" falls on some deaf ears.
We would dread running the 'hassle waiter' gauntlet most evenings until we found a bypass from our apartments to a quiet bar - yes, there a few left in Icmeler!
All in all, a great holiday and thanks, once again, to Rami and his crew!

Been to Icmeler 3 times now, last time was in Feb this year, the difference from then to summer is amazing, it was hardly recogniseable as the place we have come to love. They do a tremendous job transforming it for summer into a spotlessly clean, warm friendly place.Brilliant beach and pretty canals, ideal for the relaxing getaway feeling.it was strange to see the places we normally go to, dreamboys, loveboat and waterfall, all closed and locked up for the winter, but in the summe these provide excellent evening entertainment, brilliant food and great atmosphere. We are going back in August and can't waite (working on my Mrs to try and go in May aswell but we'll have to see how that goes!)
icmeler is a lovely, scenic resort but its more for those looking for a relaxing holiday. The resort was clean and was small so everyone knew each other. Didnt visit the beach much but when i did it was clean. I hired a scooter and went a drive up the mountains and then ended up going on a tour. it was very interesting and the scenery was breathtaking.
Icmeler, has been spoilt now, used to be lovely and quite, no hassle when visiting the town, last year it had become like Marmaris, really did get on our nerves, impossible to walk in the town without been hassled. Good market on a Wednesday, again that became hard work last year, had a real laugh the year before because everyone would barter, prices had risen quite a lot too, we were told it was due to the war! And the fact that tourism was down, I don't think so, Icmeler was packed, more so than the year before. Having said all that we love the people. Word of advice,if you are taken ill DO NOT let anyone take you to the ACADEMIA the local hospital (clinic).Insist you are taken to the Ahu Hetman Hospital in Marmaris.
The little train is good fun, for a few pennies you can travel around Icmeler, for good food try OZZY'S in the Old Town and for Jewellery try Dal's on the corner oppositr the Steak Set. But remember to barter.

Icmeler lot quieter than Marmaris, but still plenty of night life with loads of entertainment for young and old.the beach is lovely and would definately go back.
Icmeler is a beautiful, clean and friendly resort. It's ideal for couples, families and older people. It's small enough to be intimate, but big enough to enable you to eat in a different restaurant every night. There are some excellent restaurants - Summer Garden being the best in our opinion. It's close proximity to Marmaris means that you can have a livelier night/day out if you want to.
It can get quite irritating when you are called into every shop/barbers/restaurant that you pass, but a polite "No thank you" usually suffices.
Icmeler is somewhere that we will going back to time after time as we loved it.

The whol e resort was very clean and tidy. We have had holidays in Bodrum but this resort is far superior. We noticed there is a very large police and security presence which creates a very secure feeling.
We returned to Plymouth on the 21/6/04 and on the 26/6/04 booked to go back to the Moonlight Apts in May 2005

Icmeler is one of the nicest places you could go to. Quieter than Marmaris but still plenty to see and do. There are some great bars and restaurants to visit and most of them are good ones. Food choices are excellent so is the entertainment. The beach is great it costs 2million lira for a sunbed [bout 75p] but you get waiter service all day they wil even run to the shops for you to get kiddies bucket and spade. We go there at least three times a year a super place.
We stayed in icmeler which is very clean and has some beautiful hotels and a great beach. the walk from icmeler to Marmaris is wonderful and the views from the boat taxi on the way back was even better. All bars and restaurants are clean and give excellent value for money. My favourite restaurant was The Love Boat, beautiful food, wonderful presentation and very high standard of cleanliness. The beach in icmeler is very nice and clean with plenty of sunbeds to hire .I will be visiting icmeler again soon.
