Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

An excellent small resort. Probably too quiet for some!

We have been visiting Icmeler for almost 10yrs now. We have obviously seen a lot of changes. I know Turkey has a lot of bad press about hassling but the local police have clamped down on this and it is no longer tolerated. You will not find friendlier people anywhere.We are still finding new restautants to try out even after all this time. A few of the ones we recommend is Prince, Lighthouse, Majestic & Wayside to name but a few......

this was our first time to turkey and we loved it, icemeler is lovely with clean streets, plenty shops and places to eat,and they dont hassle you half as much as you would expect, we dont think we want to go anywhere else again.

Ichmeler is a brilliant place to stay.By day the beach is very clean and there are plenty of sunbeds. We found a great place by Linikers bar where the staff were friendly and the beach is clean and the beach waiter was very entertaining and helpful.
At night the whole town comes alive with countless restaurants and bars to feed and entertain you. We ate at a different place nearly every night and never had a bad meal. The food was plentiful and reasonably priced. The entertainment is great, can recommend Stella Showbar at the end of the beach,good food and entertainment if you like drag artists. Can also recommend the wednesday market for a challenge! The only downside was that the staff in the shops mithered too much so didn't go in.
We would definately recommend this resort and hopefully will be returning soon

Icmeler is a lovely resort, the Alvaro is less than 3 mins walk to the main area, this by no means says its rowdy because it is not, far from it infact.
Theres entertainment if you want it or you can just retire to bed early.
For more lively entertainment Marmaris is only a few mins by taxi.
Tom reccomends having a Turkish bath BOOK THROUGH YOUR REP
to avoid being ripped off or standed and also he recommends having a turkish shave.
Lovley clean place and every one is very welcoming.
PLEASE remember these people only have 5 months to earn a living when you barter, be fair. and barter every where except for food & drinks....GO THERE YOU WILL LOVE IT ~ IF YOU CAN FIND AVAILABILITY ITS VERY POPULAR (the alvaro)

Icmeler was in the process of preparing for the season ahead and had quite a way to go! It lacked character and did not really appeal to us as there was nothing memorable about it. The canal could be a very special feature but it was disappointing and needed smartening up.There were a number of bars and restaurants but many had not opened yet.Marmaris was much bigger and we really liked the harbour area as it was interesting and attractive. The town also lacked real traditional character but at least it was more alive!

great resort with exellent beach .. there is parasailing banana bouts ringo and jetski's all for hire .. there are plenty of restaraunts all prices vary .. bars a plenty and good shops
be prapared to haggle though we halfed the prices they gave us then comprimised from there .... just say no and walk on if you dont want to buy .
the market is an experience but to be honest you can just get things at the same price in the shopping areas in ishmeler
great place tho had a ball and am going to take my kids there next year too

Icmeler was a very clean place, beautiful beach and lovely views.
The only thing that spoils all this is in the way the Turkish people conducted themselves. We had nothing but hassle of most of them.
You couldn’t walk past any cafés, bars or shops without them in your face asking to have a look or have a drink or food, we were very polite in saying no thank you but they would give you abuse.
You couldn’t go in a shop and have a look at clothes as they wouldn’t give you a minute to look at anything before saying what’s your size try this on and this.....they are not suppose to hassle you but most of them do and even follow you down the street!!!
One lady we met there had been spat in the face just because she didn’t want to look in one shop but she did report this. If you want to relax and have a peaceful holiday this isn’t for you. I wouldn’t go back there as they are just way to rude.

Stayed in Marmaris in July 2007 and Icmeler is much better to stay.

Icelemer is a lot better then marmaris, but the beach is a shingle no bucket and spades,and because you can still smoke there fag ends are everywhere
