Just got back from staying at the Portobello and have had the best holiday ever. Yes the rooms were basic but clean and good value for money.

The waterslides are great for kids. The staff were very friendly and always making us laugh.

Do go to their Turkish night, it was an excellent buffet and fantastic dancers from the Black sea area, very good for money.

Shops and boats are all nearby.

Will be going there again next year without any doubt, loved it.

I loved Portobello.

As I am only 17, and went along with friend we had a great time.

We had other friends staying in a different hotel and they wanted to stay at Portobello due to the water slides and pool entertainment.

The new block was excellent, between 3 of us we had 6 beds and we had 3 bathrooms!

We never used the cooking facilities, just chose to eat at the poolside, at the big fingers restaurant, where the food was satisfactory

Just down the street was the beachfront, where we spend the nights out at seaside bar, and we met all the locals!

Turkish mean are often overfriendly, and unfortunately I got one man the sack, as he was making unwelcome gestures, as I wasn

I Loved Club Portobello it was one of the best Holidays! The Entertainment team were brilliant with kids all ages!

There was very little falts that Portobello had and 1 of them was there were some chickens and cockrils and i dont like that type of thing but they stayed away from the main entertainment area.

The Afternoon Games were fun and I actually won a game of darts and proved Naker and Joker wrong! nah only jokin i love them really!

The food was good aswell but i didnt eat much as me and my mates and sister were always muckin bout! I would deffo go back!!

Brilliant!!!!

New block, what can we say "heaven" had everything we wanted & more just had to bring our travel iron.

Arrived at 4am first impressions "wowwwwwwww".
Room was spotless not 1 fault maids in every day, changing all sheets, even washing our dishes we had left that morning. Clean towels of all sizes changed every day.

Food was excellent we tried steak, pizza, kebab, and the kids loved the chicken nuggets, egg & chips at the Porto Rico poolside bar as long as "Jimmy was there".

Portobello is so handy for a 5 min walk to the shops
& beach not that we spent much time at the beach enjoyed it sitting round the pool. Kids were happy as they loved going to kids club. Snake nights were great the kids loved them, the husband loved the belly dancing booking up for Portobello again next march can't wait.

We arrived and were put on the top floor of the old apartments the bathroom ceiling formed with the pitched roof. If you were over 5ft tall there was no way you could use the shower. This was completely unacceptable so we complained to the rep. He offered an upgrade at

The Portobello is like 3 hotels in one.

On arrival we were put into block F which was appalling.

The bed sheets were stained, air con broken, shower only sprayed upwards to the ceiling and there was a huge fungus growing down from the bathroom ceiling. The apartment just seemed grimy and dark (especially as half the lights didn't work). I'm used to roughing it and always expect the standard to be lower than the brochure but block F really is awful. It was made worse by the fact that first Choice are showing the newer block on their website.

Fortunately, we were able to move the next day to block L which is part of the brand new block only opened this year. Fantastic room, hairdryer, aircon, TV, totally clean.

We moved for free because we booked online. Other first Choice guests were charged

We were allocated a 2 bedroom apartment in the new block this was very clean and satisfactory.

The hotel food was average cheaper to eat out of resort (recommend Aloha restaurant just down the road next to Sixt, very friendly especially Tony).

The pools are a little deep for children as all are over 1.50m except the very small ones for toddlers.

Entertainment not very good, were there 2 weeks and saw same show of breakdancers 5 times, mini disco for kids was supposed to start at 21.30, some nights it started at 22.30 or whenever time they liked.

Staff very friendly would recommend a visit to on site hairdressers (say hello to Dennis) they do a great job very cheap.

Overall would go back nice clean pools, great gardens, very clean, friendly staff, a nice place to relax

I love Portobello! The only bad thing about it was my room. I stayed in g block and it was nasty. But apart from that I loved everything else.

The staff are very friendly and I got on very well with most of them. I had breakfast and lunch there a couple of times and the food is really nice, especially the English breakfast.

There wasn't entertainment every night but that was because my second week there was coming up to the end of the season.

I particularly liked the photographer's work, he took photos of me and my brother and me and my mum and they were excellent, the two photographers are very nice people also.

There is some of the best jewellery I have seen and at very good prices and the staff in there are friendly as well. My dad particularly liked the hairdressers as he had a shave and they gave a massage as well so he gives them 5*!

I would definitely go again, I would go with every chance I have.
