We arrived home yesterday morning after a brilliant holiday in Marmaris,we stayed in the Cosmopolitan for 2 weeks and to be completely honest we wouldnt stay there again if we returned to Turkey.

The staff are lovely and couldnt be more helpful and the maids are very friendly but whilst we were staying there not one pool rule was followed, there were people sat by the childrens pool drinking beer and one day a bottle smashed and it didnt get cleared up properly,it said 'no animals' but there were chickens and cats freely roaming around the pool side.

The newly refurbished large pool had new sunbeds, umbrellas and large lounge cushions whilst the little pool where most of the British were had the older sunbeds etc,we also noticed that the pool area was never cleaned. The location of the hotel is quite a distance from the main bars and restaurants and it would be about a 20-25 minute walk, its situated on a main road so you have to be very careful when crossing as the turks are mad drivers.

The entertainment wasnt geared up at all for the british holiday maker as the majority of the visitors are scandinavions.

The rooms are quite small but clean and the air conditioning is not powerfull enough for august temperatures.

Being a self catering holiday we were told that we were unable to have our own drinks and food by the pool, where it was acceptable for some scandinavion customers to sit in the pool with glass bottles of beer which is something us British what not do,this was reported on numerous occations to reception but there was no response from any of the management team.

This is a fabulous complex and we are vising again in 2007 for the third year. The staff are wonderful. The turkish bath and massage is a must - a lovely start to the holiday. The rooms are very clean and towels changed almost daily. The cleaners are always friendly and helpful.

Food at the hotel is more expensive than in the town but that is usual in holiday locations. The town is about 20 - 25 minutes walk but there are plenty of shops to look around.

One tip - book the trips with the local people not the tour rep - much cheaper. They do all of the same trips but will do "deals" if you book more than one through them. You are picked up at the hotel so there's no problem.

Two lovely pools - one family pool with slides and one smaller quieter one. Could do with more sunbeds but again this is pretty usual when on holiday!!

The brochure does not do this complex justice - only downfall is that it is not right in the middle of the town and is a walk from the beach. However the Dolmus runs regularly so it's not really a problem.

First time in Marmaris. Wwe will be going back next year both pools very good. Large one did the families the small pool at the front was very good for couples.

Rooms in the older wing were very basic but ample staff were great speak very good English turkish bath in the hotel is free for first visit great way to start the holiday. Plenty of bars near. 25min walk to Marmaris beach or 5min on the dolmus.

Hotel entertainment is ok. Magic show for kids. Turkish night (belly dancers)Fire eater show.Snake dancers show. One 3 game bingo after Turkish night this hotel is great for kids.

Hotel prices a bit dearer than outside bar and restaruant prices.

Cosmopolitan Resort is a lovely complex. Thomas cooks brochure really does it no justice whatsoever.

It has 2 large pools with separate baby pools each. There are 3 good water slides into a separate pool which kids (big and small) love, this is not detailed in brochure. pool sides and public areas, as are the rooms, are immaculate.

Rooms cleaned on a daily basis with towel change most days too. We didn't each much at all in the complex, but the odd occasion we did, it took ages to come, then i would only have described it as average and slightly higher priced than in resort, but I suppose acceptable.

The location of this hotel/aparts is what lets it down greatly, but considering I only paid

This hotel is very nice, rooms are basic but kept very clean.

Pool is great size and the slides are great fun, there is also a quieter pool at front of hotel.

There is a gym and a Turkish bath.

Bar staff are always on hand to serve you at your lounger, hotel staff entertain daily at pool ie volley ball darts etc.

Hotel food and drinks are expensive, and they charge it to your room, it quickly adds up! BBQ night was nice, good food and price was not to bad.

They have entertainment nightly like belly dancers, snake show, bingo. We didn't watch any of them as daughter and her friend like to go down the front every night, which we had to go via taxi as hotel downfall is it's to much out the way, no bars or shops are in walking distance.
