Just returned from the Ekinci Palace after a three week stay. I can echo the other reviews in terms of the cleanliness, location, helpfulness of staff, lovely pool etc all good.

There are a couple of negatives that we feel need to be highlighted. We arrived at the hotel on Tuesday at 2:00 am and were escorted to a room on the top floor (in the attic ?). The 'balcony' was a 6ft rendered wall on all three sides. No view to be had without standing on tiptoe (I'm 6ft my partner couldn't see anything) very claustrophobic and hot as an oven in the day as no breeze.

We immediately complained and were told the hotel was full and we could be moved on the Friday. This happened as promised and we got a much better room just below the original room with a proper balcony above reception overlooking the pool.

There are two of these attic rooms in the main block and the other top floor rooms have a view but are more enclosed with the wall at about waist height. Several people also complained about the studios which are a separate block which have shaded balconies and overlook the wall of another block and some of the rooms in the rear block overlook the road at pavement height.

I got the impression from talking to other guests that there was a lot of 'room juggling' going on. So your satisfaction may well depend on the room you are allocated and your readiness to move (even if it means you can't unpack for a few days).

The other bug bear was the music by the pool during the day. This was often blaring out very loud and inappropriate (rap, club music) for the mostly middle aged guests several of who also complained about this to us. We went to this hotel for a quiet relaxing time and sitting by the pool was often like being in a nightclub and I couldn't concentrate on my book ! This became very annoying after three weeks.

Ironically at night the bar is deserted and the music quieter and more appropriate. We did complain one evening 9:00 pm'ish as the bar was empty apart from the staff who had football blaring out of the loudspeaker presumably for their own entertainment.

The receptionist said that no one else had complained and my partner volunteered to go knocking on doors to see if anyone else objected. This had the desired result and the volume turned down.

If you are young, hard of hearing or prefer to stay away from the hotel during the day this might not be a problem for you.

Ironically the hotel is in a quiet area but is self defeating by generating it's own noise and because of this I would not stay at these apartments again.

Originally had booked to go to Rhodes to a family wedding but XL went bust and as a last minute booking ended up here in Turkey, what can I say, the staff here are second to none, friendly and funny, especially when they get thrown in the pool fully clothed, location of hotel great near the old village, nice and quiet but close enough to resturants and bars. Try food at Robin Hood its excellant and Eddie is brilliant he just needs to learn how to make a rose instead of the fan, he will know what I mean. We had room G706 a studio above the Lora Hairdressers, who do an excellant pedicure, we had a side balcony and a front one so had sun all day, great views of the mountains. We will be back oneday.

Just back from a 2 week stint in the Ekinci. Toprak was the friendliest member of staff - always willing to help. Greeting at reception was great every morning and the room was more than adequate with a great poolside view - no kettle or toaster however. Pool facilitites were really good and the beach was a good 15 minute walk. Didn't try the food in the evening as there were so many nice restaurants in close proximity. Entertainment was a little disappointing; the Turkish night being the best on offer. Other than this it was just loud music or the occasional karaoke night. Would definately go back again but maybe for just a week.

Fantastic time had at the Ekinci.Mehmet on reception was a jolly chap.Toprack,Bill,TJ,Michael,Luca.All the staff were fab and very accomodating.Rooms were spotless, view over pool was great to keep an eye on the kids.Restaurant open all day for drinks, snacks, ice creams.A Turkish night was held on the Tuesday night, great atmosphere, traditional Turkish buffet style table laid out.Mariano cleaned around the pool every night to a very high standard.I would definately go back here,we had a wonderful time, the staff couldn't do enough to help.
The waterslide was excellent despite other reviews stating it looks unsightly,it's had a lick of paint and looks better, both kids and big kids alike had a whale of a time splashing about!Hoping to book here again for next August,i can't rate it highly enough.
Thanks to all at the Ekinci for a fabulous and memorable holiday, hope to see you all again next year!!

The appartments were very basic but clean. The hotel was located on the outskirts of the old town just a ten minute walk to the centre of icmeler. The staff were brilliant couldnt do enough for you.Two nights out of seven there was entertainment on. A turkish night and a magic night.I would holiday here again although the rooms were basic the pool area and the staff more than made up for that.

stayed at the ekinci palace for 1week self catering and cannot fault the accomodation, the maid was in every day to empty buckets and make beds and towels changed every 3 days,

there was food available at the pool bar and it ranged in snacks during the day to dinner at night and both were excellant,

pool is massive and there are loads of sunbeds and also a water shute for the kids which can be enjoyed by adults aswell.

the accomodation is situated about 5mins walk to the main cross roads which is very central, they had a turkish night when we were there and it was excellant, also a magic show and also a show with micheal jackson lookalike so entertainment was excellant for a self catering complex, it was that good we are looking to book direct to go back in october for the week, last but not least the guys that work so hard to please they were brilliant, couldnt do enough for you and entertained all day and night....

First time in Turkey so a real find to arrive at the Ekinci Palace - just the right size hotel and located far enough from the Icmeler strip to be not too noisy at night for a midnight bedtime for the kids but within 10 minutes walk in the heat of the day.

Rooms spotless with daily cleaning and a 3 day change of linen and towels. Staff were extremely helpful such as when the room air conditioning didn't work on arrival - electrician called and fixed within an hour. Brilliant Pool with water slide providing constant amusement and enough sunbeds for all.

Hotel staff brilliant with adults and kids alike and worked constantly to make the stay memorable and fun. Entertainment provided 3 nights per week with the Turkish Night a real value for money experience of both good food and traditional and modern entertainment (belly and street dancing within an hour of each other).

Good cultural exchange of long standing returning Danish holiday makers and recently marketed to Brits. Would recommend highly especially for families or couples looking to avoid lager louts/ladettes or worrying about feeling safe and secure without having to be constantly vigilant.

A truly relaxing but fun filled holiday environment.

We have just got back from our 2 week holiday here and want to go straight back!Had a brilliant time!Everything about the holiday was perfect, the hotel.rooms, staff(especially Aydin he is the best) and location.Maids came every day and gave fresh sheets and towels.
Staff are friendly and helpful and such good fun almost every member of staff ends up in the pool every day,be prepared for them to return the favour!!!
Food was average preffered to eat out as was self catering.
The Turkish night was good fun but didnt attend the magic show or Micheal Jackson night!
would reccomend this hotel to families or couples!
We are looking to book there again soon. All in all a brilliant holiday!
