we didn't go to the welcome meeting, partly because we weren't going to book any trips, partly because any questions i had thought of had already been answered by the wonderous people on here and partly because i went to a first choice welcome meeting in lanzarote last year and it was just sell sell sell the whole time and i'd had 4 hours of that on the plane already! My 10 year old only decided to go to the wavelength club towards the end of our week and i just filled in a registration form in the clubroom at the start of the session he went to, so i don't think it's vital that you go to the welcome meeting for that reason. Of course as i didn't go i may have missed out on something amazing that i am unaware of to this day, but i somehow doubt it.

hair braiding doesn't seem to be a big thing at the palace, i did see one little girl that had it done and i think it was done at the hotel but i don't know how much it was. there were quite a few little boys walking around with fancy patterns shaved into the sides of their hair, i suspect that was done at the hotel but again i don't know how much it cost.

Can anyone tell us if the hairdryer in the room is any good, just thinking this may be one less thing to pack.

Also only 5 days left , yipeeeeee!!!

thanks viv k, i think I am in the same boat as you with regard to the welcome meeting, i have asked all my questions on here and got all the answers, I hate the sell sell sell, as if we havent spent enough already!!! would rather give my money to mustafa at sarigerme tours.
my kids are funny about the clubs, they never want to go until they meet someone else who goes and says its good, then you cant keep them away, not that I would try too keep them away anyway! thats what the clubs are for!

Thanks again for the answers vik.

12 days and counting!

If the welcome meetings are like last year, then you will be in for a shock. Its like a mini show in a large ballroom with stage and goes on for an hour or so. I think there were about 400 guests at the one we went too.

the hairdryer in our bathroom was next to useless, but to be honest my hair dried naturally in about 10 minutes, would take an hour or more at home. the girls and i just let our hair dry naturally and the 19 year old did straighten hers a couple of times once it was dry.

mrs jack sparrow,
when is it you go, we go on the 24th july and the kids love the kids club but are a bit nervous at first, think they just need to meet a few friends :)

my husband just pointed out that if you settled near to the sea at the beach, where the sand is damp, it is much cooler and ok to walk on, but he also said that the trip is a very long day for children of that age.

we fly from cardiff on the 27th, I have two girls 8 and 10, very chatty and usually very confident, unless I tell them to do it! when the see others doing things they are off! we are staying at the PT, although i dont think it really matters as they all seem to merge by the sounds of things.

what is the situation with cots ?

Yeah viv I agree that for a 1 year old it might not be suitable, unless you've got a 1 year old who eats ANYTHING! People could ask for a packed lunch from reception for them instead

Wezhoy, about 30 mins after we arrived at pp the maids arrived at our door with a cot, it was a full size cot with proper mattress. Of course, we didn't need it with a nearly four year old who had a fit when he saw what they were attempting to deliver to us, rofl  He had already claimed the king size bed on arrival, pmsl.

We booked our cot with FC as our little boy was 2 last Friday and has been allocated a bed, but his bed at home is a car shape and has a ridge to stop him falling out so didn't want to risk him falling out the bed on holiday - that's hoping he we sleep in it!!! In hotels we have been too they are normally travel cots.

As I have just said my boy was 2 last Friday and i asked mustafa what trips he would recommend because of the age difference with our children and the mud baths was one of them. And like everyone else has said I think it will be safer to take a packed lunch for the little one's.
Only 4 days to go Yippee :hyper :hyper
