Tea Coffee Faciliteis in the Calyso

Hi

Can anyone tell me if there is a kettle in the rooms at the Calypso, We are taking my mother-in-law on holiday this weekend, YEE HAA, and she is anxious to know should she take her travel kettle, she needs her cup of tea last thing at night and first thing in morning to get her going

Also are there hairdryers

Jenni I dont remember there being a kettle in the room (dont drink tea or coffee), but you can borrow a hair dryer from reception. The Calypso is great, the food is lovely and the rooms are cleaned daily. The entertainment is old fashioned and mainly for over 60 spanish dancers, but you will enjoy the hotel

Calypso Hotel - Refurb

Closed for several months for an upgrade. Re-opened at the end od April. Anybody just been or know what's been done, what it looks like now or any photos would be excellent.

When we had family there at new year they got moved to the orange hotel as calypso was getting all new aircon in bedrooms .That was all we got told cheers mazza

Thanks for that Mazza, i've stayed at the Calypso a few times and the Air conditioning was definately in need of modernisation as it was a very noisy box on the wall that took ages to cool the room. The hotel otherwise was very good in my opinion. Just interested to know what's changed.

Can anyone confirm if the hotel is actually open?

The ServiGroup website still has the expected opening date of 29 April on it....I know the external has had some work done on it but thats about it

Hi Willie, i kind of reopened this thread after it had lain dormant for a while. I'm going there shortly and was after the same information as you, basically what's it like since the refit. Well it seem like nobody who frequents these forums has stayed there yet. No update here and no updaye on the Hotel review page either.

I fairly confident it can only be an improvement, i've stayed there 3 times before and it was great.

just got back on saturday 12 july had a great time first time in this hotel food was good room was good just all been refurbished pool was great plenty off beds would recomend

Just for anyone who is going to the above hotel ,It has been refurbished and is looking fantastic .Now i had a friend who was staying there and she took me to show me her room it was very nice fridges in rooms and flat screen tvs .I know my niece stayed there last new yr and was put into orange hotel as it was to get a face lift im not sure if All the rooms have been done but friend asked at reception for prices for next july and was told they are not out yet but its to be very expensive .. so good luck to all thats booked mazza

Calypso Hotel

I am going to the Calypso Hotel in September. I have been before about three years ago but got a good deal for September. I know that the hotel has just had a refurb at the start of the year. Does anyone know if they have done any work to the rooms? I have seen the refurb of the public areas.

i was in annex and all the rooms where refurbished nice clean rooms tv on the wall fridge in the room hope that helps

Refurb Hotel Caylpso

I am going to Beni next Saturday and staying at the Calypso. I last stayed there two years ago. I have been told that the Hotel has reopened after a refurb. I went into it on my visit in June and saw the public area's. Does anybody know if the rooms have also had a make over, and if so is it all the rooms and not just the annex? I woulsd also like to know if the rooms have now a fridge. Can anyone help? :think

nice report.my fav hotel .nice staff. good food.great location.say if you just look at front of hotel on a brigh sunny day.get the reflexen from front.you have no need to sunbathe
