I didn't use the kettle at all but I know a lot of people just took sachets of coffee, sugar and teabags from breakfast. Give you a bit more room in your suitcase :D

Maz,

I was in Rm 3125, never had to use the room card at all for air con or electric.

3125 is a "superior room". We did use the bathrobes (they are not new though, you might get horrible worn out ones...ask for them to be changed. We did and got two more old ones. Mind you, I just like to whinge, me.) The aircon is very efficient and not too loud.

To get tea and coffee, you did have to lift it from the dining room at breakfast. I thought this was out of order. I paid £240 for my family to be upgraded I didn't expect to have to lift tea and coffee from the restaurant. What would a jar of coffee and a box of tea bags cost?...£4 maybe.

Hi all, I am booked in here for one week at the end of March. I have booked a premium double with sea view and jacuzzi. From what I can make out from all your really helpful posts is that these are still actually being built! Now I am concerned that these may not be ready in time, anyone care to pass comment? I'd really appreciate it as you hear so many horror stories don't you.......

Also the fact that these are being built next to the disco gives me cause for concern. Is this area very noisy?

Do you get given wrist bands that you have to wear all the time? I am now thinking of my tan.... :) Also are all guests AI or are some just HB etc??

I have been to Sharm once before and absolutely loved it although after reading the varied and mixed comments on this site I am beggining to start to feel very worried about my choice of accomodation. Please can someone help to put my mind at ease!!???

Thanks very much in advance!!

:D Hi jemma

these rooms are still being built and are nowhere near completion but next march is quite a long way away - im sure they will have finished by then!! Yes they are right behind and beside the disco.

Yes you are given wristbands to wear, and there are italian people who are there half board. When we were there the italians didnt bother with our side of the complex much as they have their own entertainment area.

the beach and sea will not dissapoint you - its stunning ! :fish

But the food we found appauling. :yuck Take your duty free spirits as theirs are terrible.

read all the reviews and then you will find some good tips and recommendations of good places to eat in naama bay.

good luck!

Thanks very much for replying so quickly but I can't say it has put my mind at ease!

Do you think our rooms will be noisy? Surely the disco has sound proofing?

Also has anyone any experience of the dive school attached. I am an advanced PADI diver so obviously the main attraction for me will be the diving!

Thanks,

Jemma

:D Hi jemma

im sure that it is soundproofed!! surely they wouldnt build that close if it was going to cause a problem - why dont you request a quiet room ??? then they will put you furthest away with a bit of luck!!

you wont be dissapointed with the diving if the snorkelling is anything to go by!! I didnt go diving so cant comment on who is the best but if you read through this forum you will find tips im sure.

Thanks for that. I have emailed them to ask what the completion date is for the building works so as and when I get a reply I will post here.

Hi Jemma,

You can see the dive centre web site HERE

Huuby used them for his very first dive. The house reef is spectacular, you really dont need to travel for the best. There are also dayboats leaving form the jetty at the hotel for a bit of variety.

Cheers, Mrs Mac

Hubby has started is BASC training since we came home, and our hols next year revolve round "were is the diving good" Enjoy !!

:D Hello all.

Me and my girlfriend are going to the Conrad on september 29th. Just wanted to ask if the bombings had any effect on Excursions to Cairo? We have the whole two weeks planned out, so it won't be a great problem but we would both love to see the Pyramids. Can anyone please let me know if they have been.
Thanks
Ben :D
Can't wait to go only five weeks now!

the dive centre at the bottom of the hotel is run by sinai divers. My 11 year old son did his referal dives - and have the DVD to provie it. Found Sinai divers very good for our needs but perhaps tey need to be more aware of the needs of those who have never dived.

you can visit sianai divers at http://www.sinaidivers.com

Ben1977 I imagine you will be fine and it'll boil down to personal choice but suggest you have a look on http://www.fco.gov.uk

Please let me know what you make of the Conrad on your return.

Hope you have a great time!

Just a quick note to let everyone know I returned from the Conrad on Friday morning and we had a good week.

A few things about the hotel I did not like, i.e. the Superior Rooms are not superior, they are just standard rooms with sea views, but what a view, we were in Room 4118 and we looked out on to Tiran Island (fab view and on the same floor as reception).

Food OK, but a bit repetitive and the Dining Room needs air conditioning.

The Pool Area was not cleaned once in our weeks stay and a little boy sliced his foot open on broken glass.

Also, if you use the Italian Restaurant, your drinks are included if you ask by the glass, providing the doors are open between the Main Buffet Restaurant and the Italian (usually after 8pm).

Also, First Choice has a new Rep, her name is Lorna and was very helpful.

The new Rooms are supposed to be finished in November, but I was told more like March, but they are working on them, sometimes til 10pm.

If anybody has any questions, please ask, but I will put a fully review on the Hotel Review Page.

Hi All

The new first choice rep came from the Grand Azure, Lorna was very helpful when we were there.

Now they have the Conrad rep Claire, hope she does a better job for them .
