Thanks for the replies, will look out for the place on the beach that hires the fins! Looking forward to seeing some new fish, as we were in The Maldives last and there was an abundance of Trumpet fish and Angel fish!
Here is hoping we can get hold of some Antinal and dodge the diccy tummys this time around, only thing that worries me about going to Egypt Oh and the airport
e-mail address is oriental@coralsearesorts.com
Thank you ali
Obviously don't go out of your way but if you take a stroll up there please let us know in the Holiday Villiage thread.
Thanks
jj
The staff from the CSR have had their weeks leave cancelled and have all been sent to the village to carry out the final touches.
Thats about all I know....sorry!
Hope it brings a glimmer of hope.
Welcome home spinner , hope you had a ball in sharm
is there aywhere local to the csr that you can buy li-lo's etc ,or is it best to bring them
There are loads of shops in the CSR selling all sorts of things including lilos etc
thanks for the quick reply spinner
Airport was fine, pharmacy is still here and Holday Village looking good.
Will log in later in weekso pm me if you want to know anything and I will reply on here...we are having a great time!
Antinal alive and well in the pharmacy, don't worry! One of the girls ate too much red sea and they have worked wonders on her!!
In CSR at present and this is our second last day. Just discovered they have an internet cafe ... Have to say the Hotel has lived up to our expectations after reading all the positive posts on this site. It has been a fantastic week. Will post a more comprehensive report on our return to sunny Scotland. Happy Easter everyone !

Got back late last night from the CSR. I will do a review when I have caught up with the washing etc.
Didnt meet Sheba and Spinner unfortunately, though I did ask a few people and got weird looks back!!
Hotel is fine but Spinner, how could you enjoy the beer!!! Shandy Bass has more taste!! It was awful, though refreshing during the day when it was hot.
What the taxi driver told me about the holiday village and another holiday maker, to me the HV isn't looking good. Sorry if that's not what you want to hear. Dont shoot the messenger!!!!
Karen
PS Airport experience wasn't too bad at all. I've been to worse!!!
Hi Karen,
Yeah I did see that today, but don't recognise them at all. To be honest the first night we were in bed early as we'd been up since 2.00 am. The place was full of us Brits so it was hard to find anyone!!
Hotel is fine, the staff are fantastic but the drink (please understand that I don't even drink that much) was truly terrible!!! The lager was watered down or something and the white wine was like lighter fluid!!! I've never been anywhere that the quality was so bad. The staff are all just so hard working people and a credit to the hotel!!!
Just ask if you want to know anything!!
Thanks Karen
Going to CSR on 27th september, in laws have just come back from Sharm and said the airport was horrendous.
Having been to Turkey a good few times I thought there was no worse airport than Dalaman, but they said Dalaman was a pussy cat compared to Sharm.
Are they right or are they exaggerating a bit?
Sorry if this is off topic.
Got me worried sick now and it's still 6 months away!

Personally have had much worse booze abroad, am on my second rum and coke and we find the beer ok!! Horses for courses I guess!!
Still sunny, a bit cooler at times but that has been a relief at times, doesnt seem to affect the tanning...
They have all done the PADI open water this week and have just qualified so are poleased with themselves. Off to Ras Mo on Saturday snorkelling
Staff are being brilliant, will write a big review when we get back!!
It's amazing how many people are there with teenage daughters so I asked a few people. It got to the stage that i asked people that I thought might be you if they had been here before so they wouldnt think I was some crazy stalker!! Sorry we didnt see one other. I did have a look at the photo that you have put on with you and spinner but I really can say that I don't recognise either of you from the CSR. We used to sunbathe near the pool bar where all the young children used to be like ours.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday and dont get too tipsy!!! oh I forgot, you wont with there drinks hee hee!!
Take care
Karen
Got back from CSR very late on Monday night and only now finding the time to submit a post. Had booked the holiday through Eclipse and was on a Thomas Cook flight. No problems and out of Glasgow on time arriving in Sharm on scedule. (Same on the return ) It was in the back of our minds about the hassle last year on our first visit and we weren't looking forward to it. We took over two hours to clear the airport then but what a difference this year. We didn't need a visa and went straight through passport control and we were picking up our luggage and heading for the coach 30-40 mins later. Arrived at CSR and luggage taken straight to the room. Given our bands at reception then headed to our room to be reunited with our luggage. We were in room 2256, for those who know the Hotel look towards the sea and it's off to your left. As we were near the entertainment area we could hear a bit of noise a couple of times we had an early night. Don't get me wrong this wasn't a problem and most nights we were out anyway. Room was of a good standard and kept clean, had no complaints about it at all and we were very satisfied with it.
Went for a quick walk around the grounds/gradens before going for dinner and we were both very impressed. It really is well looked after. Quickly sussed the smoking / non smoking aspect to the dining area and being Scottish we found it strange to see people smoking in restaurants (It's coming your way too ..). While on the food topic I thought it was good for a hotel and on comparison to last year where we had to try and find a waiter for drink (Concorde el Salam), going to the bar yourself was better. I also liked the fact that you were given bottles of water and they actually had fonts around the resort too.
The area around the pools is great (one heated) and the wooden beds with substantial mattresses mean you have to watch you don't nod off in the sun For me I liked the fact you could go for a walk using the walkway between the hotel and the large beach, it seemed to go for miles in both directions and the views as you walk out the long narrow pier into the sea are stunning. The water as expected is so clear. It was out on one of my walks that I found a nearby Italian restaurant ( Dua Dua ) that we eventually visited twice in the week. Good food and reasonable prices. We also did the Italian in CSR which was great too and you only pay for your drink. Remember you have to book this in advance but worth it.
Heard a few negative comments about Naama Bay which we didn't visit last year but visited it twice this year using the courtesy bus from the hotel, £2 return, excellent value. We liked Naama Bay and after a visit to the Hard Rock Cafe .. doesn't everyone.. we chilled out in a bar just watching the world walking by.
Neither the good lady or I were looking for trips and spent most of our days around the pool with one afternoon spent on the beach, both were excellent and CSR had everything we needed for our weeks break. The staff couldn't have been nicer and helpful, the weather was good and the drink was ok ( sorry usedtobekaz33 ). I'm a Guinness man myself so all I look for is cold and wet lager, which it was, to ease my thirst . Both of us like wine and apart from one day when the wife said her white tasted like fuel, the rest was ok. Like others have said I listened out for names I could recognise from the forum but heard about three ladies called Karen ... so decided against asking them all, you know how it is.
In closing, sorry this was meant to be a short post, a fantastic time at CSR and would definately return.
Wilson
