Hi Kerrie,
Costa Caribe is like HB says. If you do want to economise in 2005 we hired just two sunbeds not 4 as the kids hardly used theirs. This time being older they wanted to sunbathe so we hired 4.
It is possible to manage without hiring rings, as HB says most slides and the lazy river have them, but you could wait a few mins. People hire them for the wave pool, where they aren't supplied, but the 4 kids with us never took them in there they prefered jumping about in it.
The new ride at PA is Furious Baco, which is a fast roller coaster. I think Hurakan Condor has been there a couple of years now ours loved FB.
One tip I would give with Furious, is it often goes down, so if it's up and running it's probably worth going on it then and there. It didn't have fast pass last August so if the queues are small, perhaps first thing you enter the park hop on it, although I guess it may now have FPass.
You can fast pass Condor and Khan which are the other 'big rides'.

hi alsbaby we've been to both aquapolis at la pineda and it takes about 15-20 mins by bus, but it's needing a face lift. a bit run down.,still good what with the dolphins etc but watch the rings you hire as sometimes they go walkies(if you know what i mean) the best out of the two waterparks is caribe next to portaventura. great for the kids with the wave machine, lazy river, chutes and places to eat. also has an indoor pool. but as before watch the rings cos i don't know how but they can walk!! when we bought our tickets from 365 we got a percentage off the waterpark tickets for caribe.
There were 'walking rings' when we went to Costa Caribe as well. They seemed to be faintly murmering Spanish as they walked away.
BTW I just mentioned this on the thread Kerrie started in the General hints and tips forum which is a much more uptight thread than this, but was immediatley told, Spanish kids good, Brit kids bad (more or less) so don't think I will bother anymore.

Even if you hire the rings, you'll still have to queue to get on the rides, it's just that you won't also have to queue for a ring as well. As the others have said, keep an eye on them.
Another tip - I don't know if you have to pay for the sunbeds, but the loungers by the kids pool are free. Keep an eye on these too, as they can 'walk' if the locals want one.
Doe,
I can only speak from my own experience, but the Spanish kids we met on a Saturday night had no idea of the notion of queuing, and were quite happy to barge my 6 year old out of the way. After a torrent of good old fashioned Anglo-Saxon they got the message. They probably learned some new English words too!

It was the same for us. I am normally very strict with my kids, but I'm afraid we resorted to 'when in Rome do as the Romans do'. Except we were in Salou.
doe have i caused murder on the other thread, I have not been to check, this is the first time i have had a chance to get online for a couple of days. As i said i didnt mean to cause affence to anyone its just what i heard.
I dont think i will bother highering the inflatables as i couldnt be doing with them going walk about on us plus i think mine would rather jump about in the waves too.
I am off to see what ructions asking one question has caused elsewhere
Speak to you all soon and thanks for the replies guys i am very grateful
Kerrie
Not too much havoc its just a more serious thread than this chatty one.
I know you have been before, but you will have a great time at Port Aventura and at Costa Caribe.
This was my second holiday there and it was even better than my first. Probably because we kind of knew the ropes so to speak.
We went with another family who had two boys of 15 and 13 and they said it was one of the best holidays they had ever had.
I think you are probably right not to bother with the rings we didnt get a lot of use out of ours, as the rides that needed them they are supplied and in the wave pool ours prefered it without them.

I am sure we will have a great time as we sort of know the ropes ( not really ) What i did mean to ask you was do you know if the fireworks will be on when i go 7-21 june as lastime we missed them ( or they didnt happen it was oct) Also the shows, are they on in the night time We knew nothing about them until i got back to put my review on HT and heard about them then
What time would you recommend to go for the shows and fireworks ?(if they are on)
Thanks
Kerrie.
Your right my other topic did get heavy. I replied because i disagreed with one.
hi alsbaby i backed you up on what you said cos it happened in front of me and my family, couldn't believe it any way didn't stop us having a great time
I went the last few days of August and the first few of September.
When the month changed the nights they did the firework display changed. In August I think it was on every night when the park closed and the park was closing between 11pm and midnight if I remember correctly. Come September it was shuting at 8pm and I don't think they had fireworks every night.
It must vary from month to month. You need to find someone who has been in June to see what happened when they were there.
I wonder if in more off-peak times they might only stay open late on a Saturday night or possibly Sat and Sun.
Hope someone else knows? It might be on their web-site I guess.
WHen I went the shows were on in the evenings as well, but I can't speak for June. Although you will have the light evenings then which will be great.

We went portaventura loads...one time we were in a big queue and my teenage son shouted " quatro quatro " I looked at him wondering what was going on...we were waved down out of the queue and put on the ride ...I was mystified my son had whispered shush to us all ... Later he explained he had noticed the spanish kids doing it ...so he had tried it : ...Tweetie
thanks for that tweetie i'll try that next year when we go
So probably there where 4 seats empty and big groups before you, or other people who could not understand
Hi Spanish....thats probably it...all I knew was it worked...there was 4 of us as well...Tweetie
bang goes that idea!!!!nevermind
If it were you....would you pick
iv'e been inside the salou princess(had to use the loo) and it looked o.k. a bit older than the salauris and med and walked along the back of it on way home to our hotel and the entertainment sounds good. the delfin hmm been in it too not as nice(my opinion) you have supermarkets and pubs near by ,like the salou,i would opt for the princess.
Hi can anyone tell me is there a web cam site that i can go on and see salou live
try salou uncovered there's webcams on there.
