Can anyone tell me if the duty free in Antalya airport is good value compared to buying in the town. Have not used this airport before. thanks
You can't get real English cigs in Antalya, they are all fake and taste horrible. I would buy them at duty free in England or at Antalya airport.
with fake bags and shirts on sale, the local have mastered how to pass off fak fags with even more ease.
best buy at uk airport / or return airport
ciggarettes can you bring back from turkey
200
200 is all you can legally bring back because it's not EU. We were stopped at Manchester Airport coming back last year and warned because we were over the limit. So it's 200 each for us if we got stopped again we would be in trouble and also we watched the customs guy coming out with clear bin bags full of confiscated cigs.
I argued with them about 2 years ago and they still insisted that was the case until I told them I was a UK Customs Officer. It was class seeing their faces. I'm not a customs officer btw.
She said the bloke in the shop at Dalaman told her it was 2000
Personally i always get 1000 going in to Turkey, whatever i have left goes into my cases for coming home, usually about 400.
Then i`ll buy maybe another 600 and put them in my hand luggage from duty free when i`m leaving Turkey.
I havn`t been caught doing this but i think as fags are so cheap there, its a risk worth taking and i`m not exactly smuggling on a grand scale.
thanks a lot for your replys
just seen a comment someone wrote about "dont forget to barter" i barter all the time in icmeler but never at the airport... can u do this?
just wondered if you can get any kind of menthol cigs at the airports? england or dalaman?...
i know you can get menthol ones on the plane last year, and at the english airport...hope that helps
we were told at the airport on coming home that you can take 800 but flying into glasgow was asked how many we had told the customs and was told it is only 200 each and they took the lot we wre left with a packet with about 3 init i asked if we could even get the 200 and was told no even the packets we had seperated they took them to i was i told them what we were told at turkey and she says that's what they tell everyone dont listen to them they do this all the time to get the extra money after you'v left there's nothing you can do
People know they are 'chancing their arm' bringing through extra, that is the price you pay, you lose the lot.
Hi are you better to buy spirits in duty free or in supermarkets in resort? thanks for any info.
Duty free, Imported drinks are very expensive in the resorts.
Thanks rwb46 I like a wee southern comfort when sitting on bolcony.
If your flying with Onur Air buy it on the Aeroplane, Otherwise buy at Dalaman duty free on entry into Turkey where you will be allowed to take into Turkey 2 bottles of spirits, You also need your passport at the till.
ive always bought mine at the duty free this end... i cant recall seeing a duty free in the arrivals lounge in turkey, but thats probably because im always stressed, worrying about losing kids, getting suitcases then making sure i dont miss our coach
