chester,

Etihad don't list thier IFE, all the information they give is this. They have a good selection of things to watch and probably don't list everything as it's so extensive it would be a nightmare to keep updated!

what a choice they had it was a huge selection of films.
Great Airline and I will make sure I use them again.

I've just booked with them and checking checkmytrip.com appears I'm getting 30kg hold allowance in economy and I'm not a member of there frequent flyer programme. Rang them up to confirm the 30kg and they said yes...also allocated my choice of seats while I was speaking to them. Very good airline, this will be my second time of using them to Bangkok

On Saturday 28th February 2009 my family and I arrived to Casablanca international airport at 6.30am to depart to Australia. We went through the usual protocol, we arrived to where the passengers were boarding, handed our tickets to the ground crew,
This is where the problem started; we were given the wrong boarding passes without our knowledge. The lady at the boarding department gave us a pass from Abu Dhabi to Australia. We made our way down to the plane. As we arrived into the plane we were given directions on were we were seated.

We made our way only to find that the seats were allocated to two other passengers and my wife was seated 13 isles away. I sat my two kids down aged 4 and 6 and made my way to the front of the plane to discus the problem. I raised the matter with one of the flight attendant only to be told that nothing can be done about it as the flight was full and return to my seat. I knew for a fact that there were 17 spare seats and five of them were side by side we got into a disagreement, she was rude and disrespectful to me and my wife, called my wife a dog in Arabic and a number of other rude words. I reminded her over and over again that this is there mistake and it has to be rectified before we fly. I requested to speak to the Captain at lease five times and was again rejected that privilege

The plane was delayed for over an hour and a half, we were told either we apologies to the flight attendant or we had to all leave the plane there was no other alternative
By then the other passengers were getting involved with rude comments to the staff about there behavior towards us. We were then told to leave. They removed our luggage left it on the runway sent us on our way. Mind you it was around 9 degrees. No body from the entire Etihad Airway would help us or wanted to get involved.
I am requesting immediate action towards the flight crew and dismissal of XXXXXXXXX, flight crew chief. This whole matter was handled wrong and this should have never happened we should have never been told to leave the plane.

The seating part we could proberly get over in time, but the part when the flight attendant called my wife a dog, it was in Arabic. She obviously thought that we wouldn't understand what she was saying because we were speaking in English and also had an Australian passport, that's when we replayed back in a rude manner, The flight crew didn't hear her say that or there not admitting it, why would they, again that's why the captain decided to take action like he did with out the knowledge of what XXXXXXX said to my wife, we were told either we apologies to the flight attendant or we had to all leave.

"Apology after what" calling my wife a DOG (Kalbe) as we returned back the airport, my wife was taken straight to the medical center suffering from an asthma and anxiety attack and we have a certificate from the specialist doctor in Morocco out lining just that..

The customer service manager just stood there as if nothing was going on and was happy for the flight attendant to continue taking control of the situation. Nobody got involved as if she was some kind of queen or something, I have heard many stories about Moroccan flight attendants but not to this extent no other member of the staff would even comment expect her???

I have requested a full refund of our trip and nothing less

I have correspondence from the following members of Etihad and replied with nothing but cover-ups and excuses

Okay so i go to board a flight Casablanca to Abu Dhabi and i have boarding passes Abu Dhabi to Oz. If there are gate readers at the boarding gate why don't the boarding passes reject when crew or ground staff attempt to board pax?

If they just manually check the boarding passes why don't airline staff realize I was giving them boarding passes for my next flight not the first one? All they needed to do was reprint boarding passes for the CAS/AUH sector.

Then even onboard the flight attendants don't realize they are the wrong boarding passes either, so i go to the seat numbers i have been assigned on the next flight but of course people are legitimately in them because that's what has been allocated to them on this sector.

I'm at a loss to understand why no-one from Etihad at any stage got on the radio to someone in front of a computer that could verify the correct seats i should have been in on the first flight from CAS to AUH. Surely the flight dispatcher could do a reprint of the boarding passes then run them down to the aircraft.

What happened to us was all the airlines fault. Like I said XXXXX mumbled the word dog in Arabic to my wife and we heard it, that's what started the argument"¦..

Have just been looking at Ethiad for flights to India, no problem outgoing from Manchester to Mumbai, but gutted they don't fly from Delhi which is where I am returning from :cry I could do with the luggage allowance they offer :rofl
Reply
seems Ethiad are getting rid of the Airbus and replacing it with a 777 on the manchester route I was reading today.
Also they are offering a seat sale on Pearl class , manchester to Abu Dhabi for £777.
This might be old news to some on here but only passing on what I found out today.

chester,

That's correct, commencing 7th June, they're using a 77W rather than an A333 to add greater capacity and choice.

I don't see getting the 777's as an improvement as I prefer the Airbus's they use in terms of comfort and seating layout in economy.

Anyone managed to get 30kgs luggage allowance in economy recently. I'm a member of the frequent flyer programme but was told only 20kg back in January, though on previous flights had got 30kg. Luckily had not overpacked.

We're fliyng to Bangkok from Manchester via Abu Dhabi on the 16th Sep, returning on the 29th Sept. The return sector Abu Dhabi- Manchester is by a Airbus 330-200, the other three sectors seems to be with a Boeing 777-300 as far as I can make out. Different sites give different legroom figures, pehaps Dazbo or some one could advise me what the economy leg room is, also could anyone give me any advice re requesting seat bookings, the travel company supplying the package was less than helpfull. My wife struggles with limited leg room and we normaly use Qatar or Emirates, both who have excellent web sites, that allow you to pick your seat. All advice appreciated

gramps,

Seating is always personal preference. Seat pitch in economy on the 777-300's and A330-200's is between 32" and 34" depending on the specific seat. Seat maps are available on Etihads website. You can choose your seats online using online check-in, but you'll need a flight reference number from your travel agent or Amadeus if that's what they use.

I just give them a call when I've made the booking and they allocate the seats there and then. Used seatguru (which was wrong) and the Etihad site to choose a seat. None of seats I've been in have felt like the 34 inch seat pitch you get with Thai for example...more like 32 to 33 and they have a footrest which is neither use nor ornament which tends to eat into your legroom a bit. Still they've become my airline of choice when travelling to the Far East so they can't be bad, given the quality of the airlines that fly that way.

We flew out on their 777 a few days ago to Bangkok from Manchester The leg room is'nt the 34" of Emirates but I would reckon it was 33" and better than we had hoped. Their seat back screen was fully interactive touchwise, easier to operate than Emirates, but the selection of films and audio fell a long way short of Emirates, but then most airlines do. Emirates seem so much dearer than the rest nowadays, we'll be just as happy using Etihad, Qatar,r most of the Far Eastern airlines, until Emirates decide to become competative pricewise again.

One for Darren. We fly back from Bangkok to Manchester on Tues 28th Sept, the second leg from Abu Dhabi on the 29th is arriving in Manchester about 07.10am All the flights so far have been with a 777 and we booked aisle seats c & d We've met somene who told us that the leg into Manchester that day will be using an Airbus, meaning that the seats c & D will be both in the centre of the plane. Anyone able to clarify this ?

All the Etihad airbus's I've been on would have C and D in the centre aisle in economy. One reason we prefer the Airbus on Etihad (apart from them being nicer to fly on than the 777s) is that A and B are window then aisle seats, ideal layout for couples. Can't remember if they are 2/4/2 or 2/5/2 layout.

There used to be seatmaps on the Etihad website - you could always try Seatguru. I've always found them amenable to seat changes when you ring up.

We used checkmytrip.com using the PNR on our last booking which gave details of aircraft type used on each leg - whether that accuratly reflects what plane you really get I don't know althoght certainly matched for the flights we had.
