Flight no FCA038 - does anyone know the seat layout?
There's only two of us so were hoping to get just two seats together and not have anyone else sitting with us.
If you get to the airport early enough having a 2 with a window seat should'nt be too much of a problem.
Enjoy
It will not make any difference how early you get to the airport as FC Star Class passenger seat allocations are done well in advance. They seat passengers in order of booking date so if you booked early there is a good chance of getting 2 seats by a window .
That may be true on the outbound leg but the inbound leg is on first come first serve basis. They have a picture of the aircraft with stickers and usually ask where you want to be seated.
This now means that my wife and I will have to take two smaller suitcases rather than one big one which we shared on previous holidays.
Question is are F/C now sticking rigidly to the limit of 20kgs per person ie will they still let you have one suitcase at 23 kgs and the other at 17kgs???
We have recently returned from a FC holiday in Mexico and the limit is 20kg. It appears to depend on who checks you in as to whether its enforced. While queueing to check in we noticed one guy insisting all hand baggage be checked for size in a size guage. Our check in girl was'nt concerned at all and just glanced at it, it was'nt weighed. Very comfortable seats and excellent legroom in the cheap seats with FC
anyone able to show me a pic of a first choice plane inside? im flying long haul to dom rep and have read on some sites u get ur own tv, movies, games etc on demand? anyone know also how much room 33" ive seen
Have a look through my flight reviews for photos of the aircraft:
First Choice Airways Flight FCA048; Manchester (MAN/EGCC) - Varadero, Cuba (Juan Gualberto Gomez, VRA/MUVR), 3rd March 2006
First Choice Airways Flight FCA049 from Varadero, Cuba (Juan Gualberto Gomez, VRA/MUVR) - Manchester (MAN/EGCC), 17th March 2006

I ask because last year my tray (and several other passengers trays) fell off the stand because there was a hinge in the middle. I felt really embarrassed.
First Choice said they were replacing them but I just wondered if they have.
If they haven't, I will just have to be extra careful.
I don't think the rules on pooling luggage allowances have changed, its just the max weight of one case has now decreased. I cannot see any problem in having one case at 23kg and the other at 17 kg, but you could not have one at 30kg and the other at 10kg ( unlike a few months ago ).
Thanx to all for replies on luggage limits.
I am looking at going to Puerto Vallarta but am a bit put off by the 14 hour outbound flight as I have a 32 month old with me and a 6 year old (she has done 14 hour flights before and the furthest he has been is Egypt). Has anyone else done such a long flight with an active toddler in Star class.
Also we can upgrade to SCP for £100 each and was wondering whether this would be worth it or would it totally annoy other passengers on honeymoon or something. (kids have always been well behaved on flights so far as we take the PSP with Thomas the tank engine etc on and the DS and colouring books etc etc). Does anyone know if the kids get kids food in SCP and what movies are shown for them. I know they have a kids channel in Star Class but am not sure what they would get in SCP.
Also I guess we would be separated with the 2 3 2 configuration.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I'm on that flight 4 weeks today. You won't get there any more comfortable than flying with FCA, they have the best charter configurations in the skies at the moment. Personally, I would save the £100 (its normally more like £250) because the standard star class if fine as it is. Unless you really need the extra 3" of legroom, put it towards your spending money (thats just my opinion of course). This'll be my 4th time flying with FCA in the last 12 months, they really are first choice at the moment. My flight reviews from last year are at the top of the page for more info, and there's always FCA's website. You can pre-book kids meals, details are on their website.

We don't really need the extra legroom but thought the on demand video would be good as we can never watch a film normally on the flight as the kids get in the way so at least we could put the film we wanted on if the kids were asleep or something. That was the main reason but a lot to pay I suppose.
Where are you goingin PV?
Nicola
We have just bought the kids a Trunki for their holidays and I can just see them wanted to race up and down the ailse on them. Hope they are accepted as hand luggage as they are approved to be.
Nicola
Are you allowed off the plane in Florida or do you have to stay put
I'll tell you when I get back! It's only a technical stop for fuel so I doubt it to be honest.
The on demand system is good, always nice to be able to pause and start again at will but the IFE system is looped and films will be available 6 or 7 times over the duration of the flight. For £5, you can upgrade and get the premium movies which are normally new releases.
Where are you going in PV?
Golden Crown Paradise, the adults only one rather than the family one with a similar name (Crown Paradise Club I think the other ones called).

I guess your right then really we should really save our money and with that we could buy another PSP and watch what ever films we wanted to then. Our current PSP has 2 batteries and is loaded with Bratz films for my daughter and Bob the Builder and Simpsons for my son.
I believe it is worth the extra and as much as possible going long haul I would rather save a bit harder and go without at home and start the holiday off in as much comfort as possible.
I know everyone has different views on it but just thought i would share my latest experience. the food was very good, bar service plentiful (never had to ask) and the seats were comfy. wasn't so good on the way back but maybe more depressed about having to come home!
Also did the day before check in again which is brilliant, no queues until you have to go to security which as usual at gatwick is total chaos!
Thanks for posting and hope you had a good holiday.
How far back do the seats recline in SCP?
Were there any kids in the premier section at all?
What movies did you get?
Thanks a lot
