The Carvery has been a great success this season.
To be honest I thought all the old regulars would turn up, and no one else, you all know who you are ;) but it didnt work out that way. There were tons of new faces. Cant wait to see everyone again in 3 weeks time, old and new faces :) :cheers
And most importantly its fab seeing some positive words being written about Goa.

yes- being let down by our original choices was the best thing to happen :D Good suggestion from Mike :tup
I think a lot of "newbies" have also turned up and are able to find out a lot about Goa from the "oldies".
As you say Gemma, we only hear positives from the meets.

Hi All we arrived home on Friday, managed to get to 1 of the meets at the Carvery (our 1st week) and there were quite a few there. It was the 1st time we had been to the Carvery and you can see why the meets there have been a success, nice staff, nice sized place, and an owner who goes out of his way to welcome you as well as giving you a discount on your bill.We were down south on our 2nd week and I wasn't to good during our last week so only got to the 1 meet, I went with O/H Karen and our 2 friends. We were all made welcome and I would like to say a big thanks to all who were there and take this opportunity to thank the long term stayers ie, Split,Chilly (even though she called me KFC :rofl ) Samtheboater & O/H, Goangirl,Mike Richardson and any more Ive forgotten, who attend the meets week in week out and go out of their way to make sure everyone has a good time and more importantly get everyone involved in conversation with each other........thanks again Keith

it was great meeting you KJF and Karen and your friends, sorry about the KFC!!! :rofl good job you have a sense of humour! it does get confusing!! :whoops

sleep-r-us i will try and have a tot up and see ....(when i get a quiet moment...got my baby grandson here right now and its mayhem having a baby around...he loves the carvery too as all the boys are so sweet to him and he calls out 'RAM') ..... but i think we must have hit 30 people at times? its been totally brilliant and the amazing thing is how well we have all got on...so many people from different walks of life, but we just seem like old friends within minutes... thanks HT!!! and of course Fiona for helping organise and allowing us to post it all on here :thanks

It's great that the meets are going so well! I'm sure that this is down to all the fact that Chilly and Split, and other regulars make sure that you are warmly welcomed and enjoy a coffee or two :cheers

Roll on November :sun2

I think the list works( thanks Chilly) as many folks can be a bit worried that there will be no-one there. And Chilly, Split and Mike are usually there to welcome everyone. It is amazing that there have been so many folks at each meeting. Wonder what it would have been like if it had been a "normal" season?? Standing room only? :D

Attended 4 meets in Feb and March and have to say they were great nights. Thanks to the resident band of Split, Mike R, Linb and especially Chilly who manages to overcome her natural shyness to become a great hostess and makes sure everybody joins in.

Would definitely vote for continuing the Carvery as a venue and would recommend all HTers to get along there when they're over in Goa. :tup
