Kefalos is the nicest place in my opinion, that is where we stayed the last few times
Can anyone tell me if there is a local tour company to book trips with or do we have to go with the reps. And how easy is it to get to other places by bus or taxi.

Hi their I don't know if you've already booke dbut andreas studios and apartments have double beds upstairs they are with kosmar you would have to pay for the under occpancy though.

My 2 friends and I are going to Kos in August. We are aged between 25 to 30. We have booked the Smagardi Apartments. Has anyone stayed there? Is it a good location? Is the nightlife suitable for single girls our age or is it more suited to 18 year olds. Is it expensive when you get there?

We have booked to stay at Antonis Hotel Kefalos I read that they have two double rooms but don't know how I can get intouch with them. Any information on Kefalos would be really good. I am still trying to find out if there is somewhere local to book trips and would like the names of good places to eat and how easy is it to get around Island.

Hi Anne, we were in Kefalos a couple of years ago in late September and had a lovely week - we'd spent the week before in the neighbouring island of Kalymnos. There are several tour companies offering all sorts of trips. We took the boat trip to the volcanic island of Nissyros which we really enjoyed but there are all sorts of possibilities. We found they were cheaper that the tour operator and also we saw some special offers when booking multiple trips or trips plus car hire. We hired a car to tour the island so I can't tell you about public transport. The car hire was very cheap on Kos.

The Smagardi Apartments are in the Lambi area of Kos town. Seem to get mixed reviews on various sites.

We are planning to go in May 07.
We would like to know if it is mainly english, or german or italian or who ever stay there. And what are the facilaties like, ie the sauna and Jacussi.

Trying to find out how easy it is to get around the Island on public transport. We like to explore by ourselves using buses and taxi's is this going to be practical or will we just have to use organized trips.

the island isn't that big when we last went we did 2 trips and then used available transport

If you are staying at Antonis hotel it is only a few minutes walk to the bus stop on the square where you can catch the bus which travels the length of the island. There is a timetable in the shelter, but as always in Greece, take the times as aproximate.....but who cares when you are functioning on Greek time anyway!!! We have hired cars before from Kefalos Tours which is right opposite your swimming pool at the Antonis Hotel. The manager there ( Stella if my memory serves me right!!) is Australian and married to a Greek gentleman - both extremely friendly and helpful. They also have tours that you can book with them and have safety deposit boxes too!!
