Have bought some garlic capsuls and was wondering if there is a set time to take them before you go away as we go in 9 weeks to Corfu.

Just use the Avon SSS as directed on the bottle, use after showering as a body spray paying attention to ankles etc. and exposed bits prior to going out in the evening.
I always combine it with ant mossie after sun as it helps hide the smell I put the SSS on first as soon as I'm out the shower then let it dry and put my after sun on afterwards.
I took the SSS to Thailand with me recently and was still bitten!!!!!!
Hi Mandy, my friend says that a couple of weeks before you go should do it. Apparently the smell that comes out of your pores ( can't be detected by humans) that puts them off, and it needs time to get in your system. I do hope it works for you........have a lovely holiday, Lindax
SSS works for me in Europe but strangely it didn't work in China last September - I was bitten to death in Xian!!
Apparently I've been told if you eat Marmite or Vegemite the mossies stay away! I have a friend that is from Australia and it's a know fact for them, they eat lots of vegemite and never get bitten!
Garlic tablets definitely work for me - I start taking them a week beforehand. I also try and take some Marmite with me!
What is the Avon product which is good and what sort of price does it cost/how long does it last.
Also garlic tablets, how long should you start taking them prior to leaving?
Avon Skin so Soft - Soft and sensual (pink) = Good for mosquitos
Hi
moved to gen enquiries forum see mozzi topic
Hi not sure on that? however buy a bottle of Citronella oil mix with water add to a bottle ,spray on and heaven :). I was a walking buffet for Mozzies untill I found this.
We're off to Borneo in a couple of weeks and last time we did a jungle type holiday my legs were covered and ended up having to wear hubbys socks pulled up to the knees soaked through with water to stop the itching.
I've also bought one of those clicker things incase I do get bitten, worked wonders last year.
I used Avon SSS, garlic and VitB1 when we were in Turkey last year and didn't suffer any bites, but if you're going to Borneo I wouldn't just rely on the natural-type repellants, you should really get some Jungle Formula DEET spray and as far as I know you should also have some sort of anti-malaria tablets in that part of the world too.
Are these the Avon products from the book, if so we've missed the boat with that, or can they be brought in shops?
Cyberspacekadette - My doctor said I don't malaria tablets for the part of Borneo we are going to, and have checked it on the the fitfirtravel site.
I always take a DEET based repellent when visiting Borneo/ S.E.Asia prefer Jaico but can't seem to get in in the UK. Also watch out for the ants they can deliver some nasty nips.
I also bought some combats that you can "close" at the bottom to stop the nasty ants crawling up my legs. Got loads of long sleeved tops too.
