New Year

We've been a couple of times and always had decent weather, around the 70's+ mark. Can get a little cloudy sometimes but still warm.

The resorts aren't as busy as you would imagine with a more family atmosphere rather than teenagers.

Lots of streamers, party hats, balloons given out by the pubs and there's a couple of firework displays.

I would go again for New Year.

My mate goes every year and loves it. She tries to fly from Manchester around the 28th Dec for the past 2 years i have found her a diy. She called me on tue and said that she had been offered 7 nights from 30th dec flying manchester/tenerife with a choice of accommodation. Colombus apts, mareverede, ocean beach and laguna park 1. All are s/c and all came in starting at £1200 ending £1300 all for 1 week s/c.

so i did a bit of research and this is what i got her a flight for 9 nights
fri 30th to sunday 8th jan (they can have sat/sun over there withoug having to book holidays as it's a weekend) for a total of £519

We found various accommodation with http://www.wintersunshineholidays.co.uk the cheapest being playa azul for £350, then we saw the 3* hotel Club tropical playa this was h/b my mate knows where this is and likes the look of the hotel. We searched some reviews on different sites and it got excellent/very good reviews. So we booked 9 nights there for £555 then we got insurance for £20 so this is it

flights £519
accommodation h/b £555
Insurance £20

Total £1094

So she saved £100+ is going for 2 extra nights and has food included, so does not have to budget for food.

all in all a good deal me thinks.

So if anyone fancies new year have a look at monarch site it has some cheap flights.

Looking for a show/Cabaret on New Years Eve does any one have any suggestions?

Let us know where you are staying. There are dozens of things to choose from. The evening shows such as raffles, stars on broadway, decades etc will no doubt be running new years extravaganza's.

If you do decide to go to a cabaret bar, some charge, some don't, you will need to suss this out on your arrival, however, whatever you do decide to do.......you need to be plonked down in ya seat about 1900!!!! Just get yourself settled in for the night.

Will be staying near Las Galletas.

Hi Mandz
And welcome to the board, i'm sure that you will have a great time in pdla. And especially as your going over new year.

I haven't been over the new year, but i believe that Los C is the place to be where there is a big street party and loads of fireworks.

Well as for your boyfriends birthday after waking up with a hangover, well it is new years day. I would go for a nice walk.

Then i would read this topic and maybe you would get some ideas from this. I hope that it helps.

Hi Mandz
wickedchris is right go to los cristianos for the firework display it is out of this world, o worked in tenerife as a rep and that is the place to go at new year, you can pay to go on a night cruise and while you are at sea the display starts, there is food and drink and a really good vibe around the resort, if your looking for a great place to eat try rodeo its not well know to english holiday makers as it is just out of pdla on the motorway(only five mins in taxi) the waiters come round to your table with every meat you can think of and serve you till you cant eat anymore a really nice place to visit, hope you have a great time

If i was you then i would probably start of at San Euginos as it should be good in there new years eve.

Then i would jump a taxi down to Starcos and head for Brannigans or one of the clubs for the younger ones.

Also i would check before as to if you need to get tickets for that night.
