It's pretty much the same all over the island New Years Eve. One thing to remeber if you are there on the evening of the 5th January there is the parade of the Three Kings on their camels in Los Cristianos.
i've just paid £285.00 for a weeks flight only for new year - there is defo NO bargains to be had - i remember going new year about 6 years ago and paying £300.00 for my flight.
We have spent the last 6 New Year's Eve in L.C.Usually go down to the seafront for midnight and watch the amazing fireworks,we go near to the market and can see fireworks all around us.Then it's off to the church square and dancing till the early hours, usually get back to hotel about 5am.
Don't forget to take your own drinks.Atmosphere is brill best place to be.Going out on the 29th Dec,this year only 28wks and 6 days, not that i'm counting.
Hope you have a great time what ever you do.
Angie
My partner and i are thinking of Tenerife for over New Year for a week - not sure whether to go to any of the other Canary isles as previously I have only visited Tenerife.
We are thinking about going self catering and are at a loss what we could possibly do New Years Eve - although it must be better than the freezing cold back in England??!!!!
There is plenty to do New Year Eve in Tenerife.
Most of the Bars will have celebrations of some kind but we prefer to go to the bars along Fanabe Beach. Everyone mixes with everyone making for a great atmosphere and it is also an ideal spot to see the numerous firework displays that go on around the coast.
We were there last New Years eve and you could not tell who was drinking in what bar, everyone was outside just having a great time. Also there is normally music/dancing in the main square in Los Cristianos until early hours of the morning.
You will have a great time.

agreed with jackie.... Tenerife is amazing for new year... a great atmosphere everywhere
Just booked for las Americas for a week leaving boxing day ?
Has anyone been before, is it good ?
Is there a lot of young people go ?
tenerife is good at any time of the year...
tenerife kicks butt at new year !
Just a slight disagreement with other posters. Tenerife is indeed busy all year round but with regard to young people. The Bars/Nightclubs will be lively but not ultra packed this is not a peak time for the 18-30 crowd. They will still be busy enough to have a good time and I would rather be there than here but it wont be as busy as the peak June/July/August time for the clubbing crowd.
Got to agree with stewartwilkie. One of the major appeals for me at New Year in Tenerife is the different clientele. Sorry if I sound like a snob but it is a lot less rowdy and more family orientated at that time of year, a distinct lack of 18-30's (not that I have a problem with 18-30 !!) Need to watch what I'm saying, you may be on the same flight as me Ayrshire Boy No. 1 !!!
And what do you mean by young.
Im 42 and still think im rather young(ish)
I fly out Xmas Eve so maybe meet in some Scottish bar

The thing I have noticed in Tenerife at Christmas time is a real mixture of people famlies,18-30,singles,couples, and so on thats why Tenerife has to be the No 1 place to go.
^^^^^^^^^ agreed barry !

Mosquitos are never really a problem over here any way so I wouldn't worry about that.
Most attractions stay open all year round...................as do bars and restaurants.
Hi, we did this jan (New Year 2006) in Los Cris and daytimes were great!! Evenings were a little cooler, for a couple an extra blanket was required... but fantastic days
we have been going to Los Cristianos for the last 10 years in Dec to Feb.
The celebrations are great even better than at home and warmer, although last two years its had rain thats not the norm.Never seen any mosquitos.Enjoy yourself.
PS. and yes we are booked for 18 Dec again this year.
Cheers
Bill
