My son and his girlfriend did it with sky sports. I did some research before we went and they seemed to be the most recommended .they wernt cheap however and at £70 you can get it much cheaper but they wont budge on the price and I figured for an extra £10-15 it was worth going with someone i knew to be reputable. Full insurance was included but before we went I added my son onto our insurance for just under £3 as a precaution. easyriders also seemed a popular choice.

They knew what they were doing as well, whilst hubby was flying around waiting for my son to take off the mountain it appears that he was having a little difficulty with the parachute. My son and his pilot were just running down the side of the mountain to take off when part of his parachute collapsed. He immedialty halted the run as seconds later they would have been off the mountain and god only knows what could have happened. However, due to prompt action from the pilot they were made safe. My son was 16 at the time, this did not phase him as he stated that once that happened and the outcome was positive he knew he was in 'good hands'.
He was then able to fully relax and enjoy the experience. Funny enough we were only watching the DVD on Friday of them undertaking this fabulous experience. Although, I did not want to participate with them it was nice watching them flying around and even better when they landed safe and sound.
Enjoy it they most certainly did
Have a fab time

we are going to olu deiz on the 16th may and my 19 year old son is keen to do the paragliding can anyone recomend th best place to book this and how much should he expect to pay?Do we have to take out extra insurance? sue
Where you staying Sue? We arrive in Olu on 19th.My sons 19 on 22nd may and thinking of sending him off the mountain.Maybe they could meet in cloud 9 and have an effes or 2?!
http://www.skysports-turkey.com . easy Riders are also very popular as is the company outside the beach entrance of Belcekiz beach hotel . (turn left at the junction of the main strip/beach). You will find it very difficult to get sky sports down in price but you may get lucky. expect to pay between £55-70 whoever you decide to go with and barter . you may well find some of the excursion guys selling cheaper but pesonally I wouldnt risk it . i would go with one of the above unless someone has any other recommendations.
sky sports include insurance but I rang my insurance company before we went (insurance and go) and only paid a couple of pound each to add cover .
hope that helps

accidents only happen when people do not listen to the saftey briefing
this is a sure buzz and a great photo and video opertunity most of the paragliders now have mounted video camera's the view is to die for (sorry for the pun )
Hi - myself and my 10 year old son did the paragliding in 2005 and it was the highlight of our holiday. We flew down together (with separate instructors obviously!) and for most of the flight we were only yards apart. The whole flight must have lasted about 20 - 30 minutes although it seemed longer. The scariest part is probably the jeep drive up the mountain, although when we flew out over the sea my instructor asked if I wanted to do acrobatics as he called it - this involved me holding on to the video camera while we did about 10 spins over the sea. All you can hear on the tape is me squealing like a baby! As I was heavier I landed first and I can still remember my son's face as he and his instructor suddenly appeared over the top of one of the beachfront cafe's in Olu - his feet seemed to skim the roof and they just touched down as light as a feather. Have a go - you won't regret it.
I did the paragliding last August at olu deniz with Easy Riders off the beach. It was fannnttaassic and i will always remember it.It took about 30 mins to land and we did a few tricks at the end which really made it for me (but i almost lost me brekky lol) but it was really good. The drive up was ace too and you could feel the air getting cooler the higher up we went.
Think i paid £55 for the trip from gorgeous George on the beach but it was worth it ,take a camera though but they will video it for you for around £25 extra .See if you can resist saying"i can see our house from here" lol
My husband did a paraglide earlier this month in Olu Deniz. He went with sky sports, having checked out their safety record etc online. They arent the cheapest, around £80, but is it worth saving a few quid when your life is in their hands? While I was waiting for him, some other people came down from other companies, and their equipment did look well used.
I did it this year with a company called Icarus, very professional and the price of £60.00 included insurance, however i had also taken out holiday insurance with a company ( columbus ) that included this in the price so i was covered twice i wondered why my wife was behind us on the mountain pushing us off! only kidding about the wife as other people have stated the ride up the mountain in the jeep is a bit hairy but look at this way, they do it four or five times a day in the summer and know what they are doing. I enjoyed it and would do it again to-morrow, it is an experience you will never forget.
We are off to Olu for the 1st time in 3 weeks and plan to go Paragliding - have heard that there are different prices depending upon where you take off from on the mountain - lower and upper ?.
Any idea of prices etc ?.

The cost was £60.00 per person for the 4 of us (we negotiated a fiver off the asking price) and the views are fantastic.
