hi,i'm going to Parga next sunday(17th)and staying in the Alexis house studios, any info on this accomadation?also any tips on the area?thank you karen
Hi Karen,
no i hadn't,thanks for that,loads of info
The Alexis house studios are located up an incline on the Valtos side of Parga, so if you go down to Valtos or in to Parga you will have a bit of a climb back up. You can get a taxi from Parga centre for a few Euros.
I am sure you will love it, but be aware that it will be very busy as the Italians decend on Parga by the thousand in August.
To give you a feel for the area you may wan't to take a look a some pictures I have taken of Parga and the area over a few of my visits.

In 2005, as a result of correspondence on this site, Parga lovers led me to book a family holiday there - and what a brill holiday it was! My kind of resort! My kind of ambience! We haven't been abroad since then and are now looking to book for 2009. Hubby and I want to return to Parga but my 18 and 16 year olds want to try somewhere different. We're giving in to the kids, as in a couple of years my youngest wont want to come on holiday with us and we will be able to do as we please.
Can anyone suggest anywhere that has a similar feel as Parga. I find myself comparing everywhere with Parga and quite frankly, they all pale into insignificance.
Mer

Hi Mer
I wish I could help but I feel exactly the same as you do, I love going back to Parga
We did like Kassiopi in Corfu, so that might be somewhere for you to take a look at.
hi just got back from Parga and loved it!!my hubby thought it was fantastic!kids loved it too, loved it so much we are going back again there next year but going to stay in the Valtos beach hotel, can't wait for next year! can't see my pics yet cos we were burgled while we was away and took my pc,but looking forward to seeing them when the insurance pays up,karen
How long a walk into town. I think its by the Fire station on the road in but is there a shortcut?
The return flight is 10pm. Does the owner usually make provision for luggage?
Would it be best to ask for a seaview room(if there is one) or countryview?
Parga is absolutely beautiful . Love it to bits
if you are near the fire station it's about 15 min stroll into the main town of parga, we stayed almost across from the fire station, there is a back road way, but i wouldn't say it was any quicker than the main road just more scenic, but if you go the back road you will see quite afew traverna that are lots cheaper than parga town, and one there begins with a P something like pericona (sorry can't remember the name i should do as the food was fantastic and very cheap) its across a small bridge on the left, defo go there food was fab
I think the taverna you are talking about is Perivoli . It is very good we ate there a couple of times when we were in Parga.
It does indeed sound like the Perivoli pargaluvva I would also recommend slighly further down towards the town centre (just past Hotel Alpha) on the same road having a meal in the Taverna Yannis.
Yannis is also very very good and reasonable too! Moving there myself very shortly after many many years of visiting. Should be an interesting summer as I know the locals are fearing the worst regarding tourism.
I dont know why the "Locals" are fearing a bad summer regarding tourists.....Im trying to book a holiday to Parga for this summer, but everywhere that i like is booked up already......cant get in anywhere, without a long walk out of town.....I can only assume that the Uk travel agents have reduced the bed numbers they've reserved and more beds are being offered to other countries ???
I would think that beds are hard to come by because so many of the smaller b&bs were with Kosmar and haven't been able to register with another company in time for this summer. Keep trying . It's well worth going there.
Many thanks Mel
I am sure you will love Parga and also the Villa Andreas which is where we always stay and is very nice.
If you take a look at this page from Elaine who is an HT member http://www.agni.gr/members/Paxos/ElaineK/index.asp you will get information on Paxos and near the bottom is a list of websites that may help you.
However you could use one of the local travel agents in Parga to arrange accommodation in Paxos for you, and it just so happens that the owners of the Andreas, Tasos and Bettina run one of the best and largest travel agents in Parga, Bettina the owner who is very nice and won't rip you off in any way will be able to help you with your request.
If you want more info their website is http://www.synthesistravel.gr/english/e_content_ta.php?grp=ta&mnu=10 or you can email them info@synthesistravel.gr
Hope this helps you a bit
Graham
Speaking as a resident I would totally endorse Graham's advice Tassos & Bettina will sort you out no problem
Had some info that Parga is lovely and the Villa Andreas recommended. Have looked at reviews and looks beautiful, just wondered what the surrounding area is like? We have a 10 year old so want things for him in evening. We all love eating out, don't like kids clubs etc and must have a pool!! Is it a small island? Went to Zante last year and loved that but looking at somewhere different. Thanks
