We're flying from Manchester to Palma on Saturday 30th June with First Choice Airlines (about 1430) - do you have any info on the plane/entertainment on board ?
Also, we've arranged to check in the night before which seemed a good plan at the time - any comments on this ?
There are two flights within 10 minutes of each other, FCA2642 departing at 14:20, and your flight, FCA2664 departing from Terminal 2 at 14:30, ariving in PMI at 1800z, a flight time of 2 hours 30 minutes. There's a third flight, FCA2660 departing at 15:50 and a fourth flight, FCA2682 departing at 22:55. Make sure you get on the right one! Your flight is scheduled to be operated with a Boeing 757-200. These aircraft have 233 leather faced seats configured 3-3 with 28" seat pitch and ceiling mounted IFE. I'm not sure what film they are showing at the moment. They're powered by two Rolls-Royce RB211-535E4 high bypass turbofans each producing 41,500 lb of thrust, proper rocket ships
Have a great time,
Darren
We did the day before check in last year at Manchester and I am so glad we did. The following morning the checkout for our flight was enormous and we were able to head straight past it. I have been reading about the new security measures for passengers to Spain so I think you have made a wise move getting it out of the way early.
I know that the long haul First Choice flights are Casino Royale, Music & Lyrics, The Queen, Happy Feet, Charlottes Web, Eragon, Because I Said So, Breaking and Entering, Notes on a Scandal and The Pursuit of Happyness so they will probably be showing some of the above on the short haul I would imagine.
Have a great holiday.

flying to sharm on the 25th june 13.30 from manchester could any one tell me what plane it is the flight number is fca258
michelle maylor,
We're flying to Sharm (FCA 328) on Monday 30th July.
Originally there were six in our group, now only four of us will be travelling. We've booked to sit together and I know if all six of us had gone we'd have been seated three and three but how about just four of us? Three and one in a row, or two and two one behind the other?
I'm hoping it'll be the former!
Thanks.
Pippy
It all depends on seat availability, but they'd normally try and give you 3-1 across a row so you're all together. It's unlikely they'll give you 2-2. Because most people travel as a couple, the end seat in a row is often free. A group of 4 should be easy to accomodate with the addition of a couple next to you. If you get to the airport a little later than planned, the '4th' person could get allocated the end of a row anywhere in the aircarft. It all depends on seat availability when you check-in. It's a bit like playing Tetris!!

Hi I'm flying with First Choice in July. There will be myself and my 11 yr old. I didn't pre-book seats as I couldn't afford it. The woman at First Choice I spoke to told me that most people pre-book now and there could be a good chance we wouldn't be seated together! Does anybody know what the chances are that we won't? Am I within my rights to insist we are as he's a child? Worrying now that he'll end up one end of the plane and I'll be the other but really cannot afford to pre-book as we are on a budget. My plan is to queue at check-in half hour before it opens in the hope I can get us together. Help anyone?
Ignore the women at First Choice, sounds like she's just trying to get you to part with more cash. It's true that a lot of people do pre-book seating together to guarantee their party don't get slpit up. However, providing you get to the airport and check-in in plenty of time, ie >2 hours prior to your departure time, then the chances are you will get seated together. It's only when you get to the airport late and seat allocation is getting tight that you'll get split up. Families do get split up from time to time, it can't be avoided. I remember coming back from Tenerife over 20 years ago with my dad. He was at the back of the aircraft and I was at the front because we checked in later than planned, very nearly missed the flight! I had a nice couple look after me for the flight, I think they actually enjoyed having me for 4 hours! If seat allocation does become a problem, the check-in agent will do their best to get you together and the cabin crew will probably do their best to get you seated together once they become aware of the problem.
Your plan is sound and I would say you'll have no problem. Very often its the flight home when travel arrangements to the airport are out of your control (ie on a package deal) that you run in to problems because you don't know if you're the first or last coach for the flight. I arrived at the airport earlier than expected because I didn't run in to expected delays getting to the airport / parking for a flight with FCA last year and I had the pick of the aircraft!
Darren
Thanks Darren
Thanks Darren, Its our first holiday abroad alone and I want it to be great for him so I'm worrying over every little thing!! I'm panicking a little less now!!
No worries. I think most people are the same. The run up to any holiday can be stressful because you just want everything to go to plan, I know I am!
ollysmum, where are you flying from? some airports have day before check in for FCA It costs just £5 each. If you can do that, you get allocated seats then. Don't worry though, my daughter in law works as cabin crew (not FCA) and assures me that a child under 16 has to be seated with one of his/her parents. Don't worry Denny
Hi Denny, I'm flying from Gatwick North.
Can anyone tell me what meals we're likely to receive on flight no. FCA 328 Gatwick - Sharm on 30th July and flight no. FCA 329 Sharm - Gatwick 13th August please?
Pippy
Pippy,
Thank you Dazbo
can anybody tell me whether first choice ever fly their two-cabin aircraft on short-haul routes....namely cyprus? i flew with them to florida and premier was great for the money.
They do, but only when they can't cover the flight with the regular aircraft, eg technical problem. A handful of flights were operated with a 763 last year but I wouldn't count on it.
Darren
Doesn anyone know what type of aircraft will be used on the flight FCA780 flying from Birmingham to Bodrum on 13th August?
