Hi,
There is 20 of us, we are not staying at the hotel for the whole time just our honeymoon night so looking forward to that. I used the pick and tick list, just need to finalize the cake and flowers when i get there, was thinking of a two tier cake also. the free bar sounds pretty reasonable, we may do that and the food sounds good. i think i'll have to read up on the order of the speeches, toasts etc as i haven't given them much thought, but thanks for pre warning me. Thanks for all your advice you have helped to put my mind at rest.

Just for the record, a friend's daughter recently got married in Jamaica and they had to pay for the reception, including drinks, even though they were all AI.
Thanks.

I have booked my wedding for June next year at St Helenas church Larnaca. As I am a Cyprus virgin I am a bit wary of what to expect!Everyone seems to be going for Ayia Napa etc and Im worried about what kind of choice i will have for hair / makeup etc.
Also does anyone know what photographers Thomas cook use in that area and would I be better off organising my own.
I will be staying at Louis Princess hotel.....is it in the middle of nowhere??
Advice from anyone would be great.XX
planning a wedding in paphos want all inc and to travel with first choice found hotels we like and want honest opinions and advice???!!!
I don't know St Helanas Church so I can't help you there. The Hotel should have a resident air / Makeup Salon within the hotel they all seem to be all 5 * around that beautiful stretch of coastline, your hotel is right next door the the Palm Beach & I have been inside that hotel & it's stunning.
There is plenty of Restaurants & bars around that area & also you are about 5 Km from Larnaca
I hope this helps
Kev
Like you I went out to Cyprus virgin, not known what to expect. The co-ordinator was very helpful, but as we were there a week before we married I had a good look around the resort and instead of paying 'expensive' hotel hair and make-up prices I went to a salon near by and had the full works for half the price.
I don't know Lanarca at all but I'm sure with all the weddings they have there, there will be salons nearby.
Good tip - make a list of what kind of photo's you want i.e. bride/bridesmaids etc ... and remember they take as many photo's as you want as you receive all the negatives so if I was you (which I wish I done) had some natural ones i.e. chatting amongst friends etc
Ingrid
I did not see any hair Salons around but having said that I was not looking for them & I am sure there are many, I just mean't if she was stuck then the Hotel would have one in place. Again she is about 5 km's from Larnaca so it would not be a problem popping in & asking if they do call outs which am sure they do

May I ask what people are giving as favours (if any?) we were thinking of mini fans for the ladies (wedding is at 12noon!!) can these be bought locally cheap enough?
Havn't got a clue for the men (preferably not chocolate or alcoholic) - any ideas?

one worried groom
My fiancee and i are looking to book our wedding in Cyprus either late 2008 or early 2009.
We are looking for a small venue ideally inside a hotel complex as we only have a small number of guests ie 15-20.
We dont really have a strict budget at present and are looking for a smaller hotel with a more intimate feel.
I like the look of the grecian park hotel at the minute as the panoramic deck for the "i do's" and the cliff bar for a small reception/meal afterwards seem to fit the bill !
Can anyone recommend any other venues and also independant wedding planners as we are not to keen on using one of the package holiday companies.
Thanks In Advance
Kev
I have some beautiful pictures of the Grecian Park and other wedding venues. If you'd like to see them, please could you PM me your email address so i can send them over to you along with any other information you may require.
Many thanks

thanks.
Cyprus isn't really renowned for rip of merchants, most wedding companies out here are professional and pride themselves on the level of commitment they give to each and every wedding.
If you want to communicate over the phone and via email with your chosen wedding coordinator, this shouldn't be a problem either.
There are only a few hotels that will allow non residents to use their wedding venues, please PM me you email address for a list of these hotels along with their usage fee (and pictures if required).
If you require additional information, just give me a shout

Looking at flying (independent with jet2) into Paphos and staying in Paphos
Any recomendations for accom and wedding package please ( he is useless at sorting stuff ou so hotel must be competent at sorting every detail out)
i am stopping at the kefalos village in August so I was gonna check this out
Any other good hotels etc
I can't vouch for them but I remember seeing this one (probably driving past)
