Thanks Kath I will check this out!
I've booked my wedding, through Thomas Cook, getting married 31st July 08 at Paralimni Town Hall.
We are staying at the Constantinos the Great Hotel in Protaras. We chose this hotel as we needed a room for 4 and also a single room for my mother in law, which we really struggled to find, and with the kids we wanted all inclusive. I've read a few nagative reviews about the hotel and also some possitive reviews also, so its booked now so can't really change it.
Never been to cyprus, but I am hoping that with the hotel being on the beach it will be great for the kids. All I have organised is the hotel, and the date to get married, all the rest is up to me!.
Which is ok, I think, Thomas cook have sent me a list of extras which I can choose from, but I'm sure that they have a local agent who organises everthing for you.
Does anyone know who the local agent is for Thomas Cook, as I could do with finding out the time I get married before I go so I can arrange some of the things myself.
I have to organise the following so any help would be greatfully received, there are loads of search results but would prefer personal recomendations.
Transport
Flowers
Photos
Reception, 22 Adults, 4 children. This is by biggest thing to organise, I can have this at the hotel but it seams very expensive, we have to pay more than the people who are not staying at the hotel as we are AI which does not sound right. There are 4 children under 10 and 3 under 16 so I need somewhere where the kids can let of a bit of steam, i.e somewhere which is no next to a main road, if we can have a disco then all the better.
If anyone can help who has stayed here or who can provide details of little extras then that would be fab.
I'm sure that the time will fly between now and July.
Thanks in advance..... Kerry
DJ Bill's wife here......we got married end of May 2007 at the Aqua Mare Hotel in Paphos, on the beach, and then had our reception inside........the weather was perfect, it wasn't too hot, and the sunset pics were great too. The Aqua Mare hasn't been listed yet, but we really think it is the best hotel in Paphos. The service, the rooms, the location and the food were faultless. I'd get married there again!!! Whoops!!
My Fiance and I are getting married in Cyprus in July 2009 and we really want to have our reception in a Marquee, so were wondering if anyone knew where I could hire one from?
We want to make the most of the glorious weather and we don't really want to be mixed in with other holiday makers when celebrating the big day so we saw a Marquee as a perfect solution.
We hope to marry in Paphos, so can anyone suggest who to talk to about prices and availability of Marquees? Also, I will need to find out which hotels will allow a Marquee in their grounds. Can anyone help me please???
Many Thanks,
Marsie

Hi Marsie
Hi dannibb
hi everyone iam a newbride i was wondering has anybody got married in athena beach and had their reception there?
I think you find that the Athena is very very nice, havebeen there many many times & it is a lovely Hotel. The lobby is well decorated & the outside area to the pool is well layed out.
Of all the wedding couples I have known to have married there they have not had a wrong word to say about the place. The ceremony is situated to the right of the hotel away from the pool area & there is also a nice footbridge leading over the pool as you make your way to the ceremony.
The Manager George is a really nice & helpfull guy & the staff are very friendly

We went with First Choice, and left all the extras to kerry the FC rep. She showed us flowers, venues for receptions, arranged transport for us and guests, she was absolutely amazing. As for hair and make-up I arranged that before I went, a lady called Angeline , who I had heard of from this forum, and she was fabulous.
We had our reception here http://www.sunsetbeachcyprus.com/
you wont be disappointed.
any other help just pm me.

There is a lovely little taverna called the Garden of Eden, they are extremely experienced in wedding receptions, its not a private venue but they will section off an area for you and your party. http://www.thegardenofedencyprus.com
Another place is Sunset Beach, this is a private wedding venue in between Protaras and Ayia Napa situated on it own sandy beach. http://www.sunsetbeachcyprus.com

Hi there I can help you out with the Iberostar Ledra Beach as I got married there in July 2006 and a friend of a friend got married in the Riu Cyria Bay last year and they had no complaints. I loved every minute of my stay at the ledra beach and the wedding was amazing we ended up hiring a boat for the reception after we got married in the hotel. Any questions let me know!
