The 1p flight offer is on again but the cost of the baggage and check up has gone up £8 each way for the baggage and £4 to check in so a total of £24. I am going to book and have swithered with the idea of only taking hand baggage. I have decided that when you have to put your handbag in then it is a no no. If it was just for perhaps 2 nights then I might manage. I will be away for 4 nights and I am also going to see my Grandchildren so they will be looking forward to Granny bringing presents!!
Still not a bad deal when I think about it!

Flying tomorrow to Billund from Stansted and have already checked in on line. Silly question I expect, but the Priority Boarding Pass I've printed off tells me to 'fold along the dotted line' but doesn't say to cut. However, the top half says 'Please retain for production at your departure and destination airports.' Should I actually cut this and why do I need this at the destination airport? My friends in Denmark will no doubt check me in on line for the return flight - does this work in the same way?
Don't cut your boarding pass until you are called for boarding. They will detatch it for you, hence they request you fold it to speed things up. The top part of the pass and bottom part need to be together for security reasons. The first time I did online check-in with Jet2 I cut the bottom portion off to save carrying an A4 piece of paper only to be asked for the other part before they'd let me through the gate to board.
Darren
Thanks Darren. I nearly cut it but thought I'd better check on here first!!!! I've never checked in on line with Ryanair before, only with BA.

I just wanted to say that I would definately put myself to "love" group.
I know they are... let's say simple. But they are honest. You pay 1 p for flight and You know what You can expect. O'Leary says that airplane should be kind of bus with wings. I completly agree with him.
I've spent 8 penses for my 4 return flights from Prestwick to: Derry, Cork, Dublin and Bournemouth. I just love it! Any delays any cancellations.
Well done Ryanair
Michal
Is there a way that you can pay without extra costs?
Yes, You just use British Visa Electron and You pay 0 GBP for card transaction!
Do Ryanair charge for using the lavatory? If not, why? On a flight from Cyprus last week a lady behind me went 3 times, they could make a fortune out of this and pay us to fly with them!
Heheh... You are right. I think O'Leary is crazy enough (in good meening of this word) to pay the passenger for flight one day
I have just booked a flight on Ryanair for a friend. I was shocked to find that they charge about £3 for using a Switch card and much more for using a credit card.
Is there a way that you can pay without extra costs ?
I was charged £2.40 per person using a debit card
still,£2.42 for a return flight is pretty good lol
haha Indeed! What are we talking about?? Paying 1p or 2,7 GBP for a flight ticket! Both are such a bargain! Could You imagine this 10 years ago??? Many people still don't believe me I fly for 2p...
I know exactly why it happened and it was my fault but they have a default where the top flight time is checked and when I went on I would always check the bottom last flight. I have to travel from Fermanagh or Donegal so need that time. If you check back to look say or put in next day or previous day then when it goes to the return it by default takes it back to the early morning booking.
I called Ryanair from my Sons and would have had to pay in excess of 200e plus the £8 and the £4 for the bag and check in. Today I could have got a flight for around 80e but would have had to pay for the bag and check in again. I would have to stay over in a hotel and I think it was around 75e for the Travel Lodge.
Decided to then book with Jet 2 and the fare with all the added extras was £104 taxi's etc cost me £31 and bus fare £9.50 so an expensive mistake.
I am annoyed the way that constantly they are adding insurance to the price and you have to take it off. I think yesterday 3 times had me unchecking insurance or clicking to say I didn't want it. I have annual insurance. Ryanair do the same and it is too easy for people not to notice this and I am sure many are caught out. Again the book a seat comes up and again warning etc.
The taxi who came to pick me up was driving away when I went to put my case out etc. Didn't knock the door ring the bell or beep his horn(illegal I know) I was running down the street shouting stop as he was turning the corner. A man in a garden called him bacl. I would have missed the bus I had to catch. The bus I was on was in an accident and we were held up. Got to Belfast and George Bush was enroute to the Airport so Motorway closed which is why I took a taxi and not the Airport bus. Flight delayed 1hr and 20 mins and then a light aircraft was on the runway when a door opened. They then were checking the runway for debrie. I had laughed all day and said well maybe we will blow up on the way.
BUT the only thing I got mad at was at the security to be told that the bag I had 3 liquid items in was too big No you cant fold it over No you can't cut it in half. I have travelled all over the world with the same bag! No problem. A woman bought a bag which had 3 in packet and gave me one. Yes technically they are right but common sense where is it!
Really off subject. I am going to write to Ryanair and suggest that rather than mark a flight they allow the customer has to check the flight they want to fly on. If they go forward then it would take it back and alert them.
A couple of years ago I accidentally clicked twice on a Jet 2 flight and both went through. Nothing had been happening. I got a refund less £35. I did write suggesting a better way of alerting people and now they have a big orange screen telling you not to click again. Looks like they do listen and I am sure that I was not alone in having done this.
Anyway despite all I am poorer but still laughing about all the drama. Talk about a comedy of errors. I have been told to write a book about all my escapades and I could certainly fill it.
Darren you are a star and where would we all be without you!!
Sue
It has to be said that you have to be very awake when you book Ryanair's flights ........... I usually ask OH to proof read the screen as I do it ..... and also wish that you added insurance rather than deleting it ... but it used to be far harder to do than it is now!!
Despite this I will travel with them again for the 1p flight when it is around and try to take handbaggage so I avoid the £24 figure for baggage and check in return.
If I take a bag I will make sure that it is under the 15K allowance. Mine was just 13K. Someone in front of me paid £48 (now £12 per K) and in front of them someone paid £205 crazy>
Had a great time in Ireland for all that and well yes it cost me more through my own fault but I'm still here to tell the tale. All adds to the colour of my life adventure.

and it may answer some of the questions previousley asked about status confirmed/not confirmed/error messages
We have a booking for 3 people - No luggage and on line check in. One booking Ref.
I'm not going (day trip to the races clashes )
So can we only book two people out of the three when we check in online ?
I suspect it will try and make us all book in together.
As the tickets were £10 return, I'm not going to get anything back for cancelling and I don't see why I should pay 10p a minute for the pleasure !!!! I want to give them back a seat that they can re-sell and I have to pay for doing it.......
Alternative is to check us all in on line and I just don't turn up - hoping that this won't cause any problems for my wife and son ? (not bothered about Ryanair )
Anybody been in this situation ?
John
I would imagine that when the close the desk they will see who is and who is not booked in. My flight last Monday was paid for including the check in fee and the baggage. I thought I was booking for the evening but sadly I lost my flight and paid £104 with Jet 2 to get home that night.
If I have to call anyone then I use the Irish number which I think costs me 3p per minute on my telephone plan. Cheaper than the 10p for the other one.
Also sometimes I press no numbers and I get through others will cut you off not sure about Ryanair.
Sue
I've tried getting through to Ryanair to no avail.
I think we will all have to check in online so I will get a boarding pass but then I just don't turn up for the flight. Anybody know if this will cause a problem for the other members of the group ?
Thanks
John.
With a boarding card issued, the ground staff will be looking for you to board the flight. Whilst the airline won't necessarily wait for a no-show at the gate, if the boarding pass is linked to other members of your party and they board and have luggaged checked in, the boarding records will show one passengers from a group as not boarded and luggage loaded on the aircraft. The flight could be delayed as the ground staff try to reconcile the paperwork and the Captain may also ask for luggage to be removed from the flight.
If you plan not to travel and are unwilling to contact Ryanair to cancel the seat, then I would suggest your friends check-in at the airport and tell the check-in agent that one passengers is not travelling. That way the system will have you recorded as not travelling or not check-in in and a boarding card won't be issued.
