Flying from East Midlands in November to Tenerife. Have booked the priority seating option and would like some answers please.

At EM do you get onboard the plane first or is it a case of getting on the bus first and therefore a scrum with everyone else to board the plane?

Same question but at Tenerife ?

I understand you have to get to the gate early but it from there on I am concerned about.

Thanks

Hi bobstheboy, when I've travelled with Ryanair from EM, the planes have been next to the building and its been a short walk across the tarmac and straight onto the plane. Although you get the usual hanging around the gate (I sometimes wonder if everyone thinks the plane will go without them :que ), the staff have followed the priority boarding to the letter.

Not sure about Tenerife, but when you arrive back at EM, you will probably be picked up from the plane by bus and driven over to the arrivals entrance. I have flown back from Southern Spain with Ryanair, and it was as equally organised on the return leg as it was at east midlands. :tup

At least going out should get seats together :)

Hi

Just returned from Valencia with Ryanair. Took off on time both ways, good flights, and was off the plane within about 4 minutes of the plane stopping! Brilliant!

We didn't buy Priority Booking Tickets, but were fairly close to the front of the other queue. There were still plenty of seats together when we got on the plane. However, there was only me and my husband. When we've used Ryanair in the past with our children, we have paid extra for Priority Booking. We've never had a bus to the plane with Ryanair - like the earlier post said, the aircraft is usually pretty close to the terminal and you walk (or sprint!!!! :rofl ) to the plane!

To summarise - Ryanair - excellent value for money, no delays, pleasant staff and very clean aircrafts.

Best Regards

David, what shape bag did the lady who was turned back have? I thought hey might weigh and check size of my 35l backpack back in March as it's 50cms tall by 40cms wide by 20cms deep. Bang on the maximum on 2 of the dimensions. It was reasonably full but was packed carefully so that if size had been checked, it could have squashed without anyhting getting damaged.

Hi Cate,

It was a square shaped bag certainly I feel that it would not have fitted any airline frame measure, but on our Easy Jet flight two passengers had very similar shaped bags as their only luggage and got through security and on to the aircraft with no problems, Easy Jet do however allow more weight as long as you can lift it unaided to the lockers, but I still think that it should fit in the frame. It all seems a bit hit and miss and your luck on the day. perhaps online check in may be something to do with it.

Does anyone know when Ryanair consders to be 'winter' and which flights they are stopping? I'm hoping to go out to Billund in Denmark from Stansted sometime after Christmas (probably about Feb/March) and this is the most convenient route for me. Of course it's a bonus that it's quite cheap, but I can get to Stansted in just over an hour on a free bus (the advantage of being older) whereas to get to Gatwick is much more of a hassle.

Ryanair are suspending flights to my favourite airport (Basel) between November and December, but are promising a Basel-London Stansted flight 3 times a week from 21 December. I can't get any details up on their timetable. Can somebody help me find out the details?

The Basel/Stansted service is currently showing in the their timetables and booking system from 21 December. It looks like a Tues, Thu & Sun service, but not at the same times each day. What dates are you looking for ?

Thanks David - you have more perseverence than I do! No firm days/dates yet ..... but as that's the easiest way for me to get to the UK, I will be using it fairly regularly if the ticket prices are right! Ryanair are now in direct competition for BSL/STN with Easyjet!!

When I check-in for my flight (I'll be doing this at Gatwick, not online) do I need to show the credit card used to make the booking or will my printed booking confirmation suffice?
Reply
Hello Pippy,
No you do not need to show your credit card. All they need is the confirmation number which you could write on the back of a cigarette packet if you wanted, they don't even need the print out of the booking.

In fact quite often they have taken my passport and found all the info on the system without me even given them the confirmation number.

Wherever your going I hope you have a good time.

Ryanair have issued a reminder about cabin baggage allowances, saying that the 'one bag rule' will be rigidly enforced this summer.

The airline allows fare paying passengers one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 10kgs, with dimensions not exceeding 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. Ryanair say that they will not allow anybody to exceed that allowance, and that passengers will be denied boarding at the gate if they are found not to comply.

last time i did checkin at the airport i only showed the booking reference.
i've never had to show my plastic on ryanair.

I booked flights with Ryanair a few days ago and at the time didn't have the facility to print the booking reference off, I thought it wouldn't be a problem as I would receive email confirmation.......to date, despite giving the correct email address I haven't received an email :really So no booking reference and the only way to contact them is via the premium rate number which I've given up on after trying all day yesterday to get through without success. I also tried faxing the complaints dept. this is permanently engaged even at 1 in the morning !

Will we be okay to fly ? I have the 2nd page of the booking which shows the names of people flying and the credit card payment.

Thanks
