Flight Only / Airline and Airports

I think when you use online check in with Ryanair that it's possible to check in each person on a booking individually simply by ticking a little box next to their name ( I may be wrong but you can certainly do this when submitting API). If that's not possible then I can't see why checking in all three people on the booking would cause a problem if there is no hold baggage included on the booking.

I go along with Traveller, who has weighed the situation up very well.

With the online check in you don't actually see Ryanair staff until the gate. However your boarding card is scanned at security so Ryanair should know I have checked in online but not actually gone through to departures. My wife can then let the staff at the boarding get know that I won't be travelling.

Baggage isn't a problem as we haven't booked any as hand luggage is fine for an overnight stay.

Obviously I can't see if the online checkin will only let us check 2 out of 3 passengers in until 5 days before the flight.

Come on Ryanair - I want to give you back a seat I don't want to use so you can sell it to somebody else !!!!!

When checking in online there are boxes beside each travellers name, I had booked 3 people to travel last month but 1 dropped out, when checking in I only ticked 2 boxes and all went through no problem and no questions from Ryanair when flying in and out on the flight, online checkin must be done 2 hours before travel which means as this time elapses Ryanair will know that there will be a person in that party not travelling and a seat is available, It does not give them much time to sell the seat but at least if there is a traveller at the airport on standby for a seat on that plane they will be able to purchase it

Thanks Phil,

Just what I needed to know ! I couldn't remember what is on the web page as it's a while since checked in on-line with Ryanair and I won't be able to do it until Tuesday.

Is it just my computer or has the Ryanair website stopped displaying the prices with taxes again?

Recently they changed their website and as soon as you selected your flight a box on the right hand side showed the price of the flight, the taxes and fees and the total price. Now I have to continue a step further again before I see the price inclusive of the extras.

Didn't know if my computer was playing up or is it their website??

If anyone can advise I'd be grateful.

Thanks

I have just checked Mark, and I am seeing the same as you.

On the flight selection page, the basic price is shown and a message on that page indicates that the flight price including taxes, fees and charges is displayed in the right hand fare box. But the right hand fare box isn't there. :hmmm

Thanks David,

On the plus side, at least that means my computer is not throwing a wobbler!!

I think the EU has finally passed a law to outlaw the advertising of lead-in fares without their tax/admin costs/tip to Michael O'Leary etc .......... probably Ryanair have to now change their computer programmes to abide by this ruling.

Ryanair did take its site offine for a couple of days in February, in order to update it to comply with the inclusive fare requirement. But something seems to have gone wrong in the last day or so, as the all inclusive fare box is currently missing.

nyone know if you can bre book seats for Ryaniar, we are 1 adult and 2 kids with airport checkin as we have luggage and I'm worried we'll be seperated, I can't see anything in my booking. If you check in online do you get to choose your seat? Also what is the lugage allowance I have only booked one case between us?

Hi Jodie,
I don't think so, but you can pay to board the aircraft in the first intake. However I can't guarantee it but you should have no problem getting three seats together, it all depends on your destination and the date.

Good Luck,

As you have only booked to take one piece of hold luggage it will only be 15kgs - not a lot for 3 of you. The cabin baggage allowance is 10kgs per person - measuring no more than 55 x 40 x 20 cms. This is quite a weight for a child to carry.

You can pay extra for priority boarding but all that means is that (in theory) you get to board the plane before the masses. No pre-allocation of seats on Ryanair - it is a free for all!!

I am travelling from Belfast to Glasgow with just hand luggage and on-line check in. Can anyone tell me if the staff at security or the gate weigh and measure your bag please?

Thanks

Hi Shelly  I flew from Stansted and they didn't but I suppose there is always the chance that they could.

Hi,

Also from Stansted the man on the door to security turned a young lady back due to the shape of her bag, of course I don't know which airline she was flying with, but it did happen. But on our flight with Easy Jet there were two people with bags that in my opinion did not meet the shape criteria.

There are scales at the entrance to security at Stansted ..............
