Interesting article about Ryanair.

I know the maximum allowed dimensions are 55cm x 40cm x 20cm but what do those dimensions relate to? What I mean is which part of the bag does each refer to? Does it have to be a certain shape? Oh I can't explain what I mean! I'm tired!
Pippy.. if you get a box to those dimensions then your bag should fit completely inside it this includes wheels and handles if its a mini trolley case
Cheers Wiz! So, it doesn't matter whether it's tall and narrow or short and wide so long as it would fit in my (imaginary!) box? I'm going to buy a bag today and I don't want to get it wrong!
Also, do I have to attach a luggage label to my bag?
many airlines/tour operators no longer issue baggage labels.. but i always attach one in-case a HT one
Ryanair don't issue them but I'm wondering if I ought to take one with me in case they insist on a label.
* they want to buy Stansted Airport (!!!)
* they want to ban hold luggage on certain key 'business' flights
* they intend to turn away any passengers from Monday who have
bought tickets from any other source than their own website.
And Michael O'Leary has decided not to leave active business life as he had planned to do in 2009 because life for him is on the up ..............................
'No publicity is bad publicity'
They always ensure one way or another that their name is being mentioned, that way its always on peoples minds when they go looking for flights.
I think most of us can't help but see how much our flights will be with Ryanair compared to other airlines and I normally end up booking with them as a result (luckily I use Electron so no card charges, yet....)

I have never flown Ryanair and most certainly will not do so now. This is just another money making ploy from Ryanair.
There will be three of us on my booking flying from Gatwick to Dublin at 15.25 on this coming Tuesday. We will then be meeting up with two more people prior to checking in (none of us opted to check-in online as we preferred not to do that).
We're all travelling to Dublin for the same event so would like to sit together.
Can any regular Ryanair passengers advise whether we ought to pay for priority boarding at check-in or if it's likely we'd have no problem all sitting together (I assume it'll be a three and three config?) bearing in mind there will be five of us?
Thank you!
Pippy
I think it really depends just how much you would like to sit together. I personally have never paid for priority boarding and have never had any problems but if you really really 100% want to make sure you get the best choice of seats I would say this is your only option.
Having said that, if you hover near your gate ready for the boarding announcement then I still think you'd be OK.
Your flight is fairly full, I have just been on the Ryanair site and pretended to book your flight for 15 people but it would not let me, it seems there are only 12 spare seats.
I do think you would be OK if you were at the gate before the masses but I wouldn't like to guarantee that just to find out you were split up.
Thanks
Mark
I think we'll probably stump up for the priority boarding then as we really do want to sit together. I guessed it would probably be close to capacity (and I can guess the nature of most of the passengers business in Dublin! ) so what you've discovered kind of clinches it.
I know these passes are available on a first come first served basis so we'll make sure we're at the desk a while before it opens. Hopefully not too many people will have bought them online. Do they have one desk for all flights (like FCA do, or at least used to) or is it a different desk for each flight? Want to make sure we're in the correct position!
I can only vouch for Luton, but they have seperate desks for each destination for Ryanair flights.
Not sure if they operate the same policy at all airports though??
Cheers
Mark
It was separate desks at East Midlands when I used them.
Thanks both!
Can the priority boarding passes be paid for with cash at check-in?
If anyone is able to clarify the above for me by tonight I'd be ever so grateful!
cant answer that but will it be worth it once the priority boarders have passed the gate the let everone else through and it still becomes a first to the aircraft chase [or it did last time i went with them]
