I'm sorry you didn't like the food Karen :( , sounds like that was your main problem with the ADR though (apart from the weirdo :yikes ) and everything else was fine.

It is disappointing though as when you have spent a lot on AI you assume the food is going to be good, as that is the main thing that seems to differ between 3*, 4* and 5* AI's, and what you would hope your extra money was being spent on. Did you do a review, as I said earlier I would still consider it if I could get it at a good price ?

It probably helps that we are very fond of Turkey (the bird). Your DD's comment had me rolling up Lally. :rofl

I hope Kazee is having a good time she should be out there by now. She stayed at the BB just before me but if it's like comparing Apples and Pears :think I guess I will be none the wiser.

Karen i'll pm you about Lykia.

We are all following each other round. :really

no we didnt eat out anywhere in the end, apart from 1 day when we hired a car from outside the ADR this was £21 for the day which we thought was reasonable and went to yaklivak and bitez for the day, we preferred turgutreis to both these other resorts. we did still have a good holiday, as i said already our room was lovely with fab views, our check out room was a suite that was fab, entertainment was good what we actually saw, hubby said beer was watered down but i think this is common for all inc, hote was in good location, most of the staff was lovely especially emre the waiter, we used the spa a lot and that was all good, ellie loved shelley the kids club lady although she left this week, so the evening meals were are main let down and not a lot for the kids to eat, ice creams were 1 hr precise every other day lol, breakfast was great, with fresh pancakes and omelettes, pool bar had burgers, pizza and chips at lunch for the kids

Hi has anyone used the laundry service and ADR, and could tell me how much it costs. Thanks

i didnt use it but looked at price list in the bedroom and thought it was expensive ,it was in euro's, there was a price per washing each item and another price for washing and ironing each item, cant remember the prices but i know it was way more than i would pay

Hi peeps I'm back :( arrived home at 2am this morning

What a fantastic place, the surroundings are beautiful and the hotel was spotlessly clean. As for cockroaches I never saw one.
As for the food, dont know what the fuss is about Karen you will have no problems at all. There are barbecue stations occasionally in the afternoon and every evening, plentiful salads and meats, yes turkey but there was also lamb, chicken, veal, tuna, trout etc etc wide variety. IMO the food was not repetitive at all I never once ate the same meat at evening dinner. The meat balls were gorgeous I wished they had been on every night :) In the afternoons there was burger, chips and pizza around the pool area.In the evening there was a wide variety of potatoes rice dishes to accompany your meat if need be.
I will put a review on very soon

Hope this assists

Hello another quick question for all thoes just back from ADR, are there a lot of mozzies around, should I bring a mozzie machine for the room at night? Thank you
Reply
i didnt notice hardly any mozzies when we were there, we put mozzie spray protection on,mainly around our ankles but only at night and none of us got bit, i didnt spray room etc, not sure if mozzies have got worse since we were there
Reply
Thats good news, one less thing to pack. :) Did you do any of the excursions or boat trips while you were there? Thanks

I got bit a few times but I was the only one out of eight of us and that was only in the first couple of days. I can recomend the mossy bands - well they work when you use them anyhow - I forgot which is why I got bit !!

As for boat trips - Last year I went to Rabbit Island and this year I went to Camel Beach with the Animation team - I think they go every second saturday. I would definatly recomend it - if you get a change buy a snorkal and mask before you go on the boat. The boat stops several times for you to be able to swim in the sea - the fish are amazing when you look through the mask.

I am so jealous - I wish I was going - I have about another 47 weeks to go - if I can ever get booked - prices seem to have escallated in the last week.

Enjoy yourself

no we didnt do any boat trips as my father has a yacht in turkey so we prefer to go on that, and we like to do our own thing, but we did hire a car from outside aegean which was the cheapest price we could find and drove to bitez and yalikavak (spelling) for the day and we enjoyed doing that and stopping at both resorts and spending time at each resorts beaches, we did prefer turgutreis to both other resorts although they were reasonably nice, but it was nice to get away for a day and see other towns nearby

We did a boat trip to Kos. Booked it at the travelagents across the road from the ADR. Trip was fine and crossing gentle.Took about 45 mins each way.

Hello I was reading somewhere that one of the A La Carte resturants was not included in the AI Package, does anyone know which one it is? Tickets arrived this morning am very excited :rofl

yes its the 1 next to the beach, we decided not to try it out as i didnt agree with being charged for meals in an all inc, i wouldnt mind paying a small supplement for the waiting staff etc like lykia world do but thats only about £2-£4 each, but not over £10 each for a steak, so if you have 3 course meal it would work out dear, we did hear that the drinks are free that are included in the all inclusive, but also heard some people being charged for them too, but everyone we spoke to that had eaten in there had said it was good, but out of principle we didnt go, nor did most people infact it was outside our room and it was empty all the time, it also did full english breakfast for about a fiver which we thought was high for turkey especially when on an all inclusive, these prices seemed to be the same for the general public and aegean dream guests minus the free drinks, which was a bit naughty

Totally agree with you, If you have paid for AI package that's what you should get, especially with food. Thanks for all your help.

we ate in the turkish and italian restaurants and didnt enjoy the italian that much, some of it was nice but some not so good, but we loved the turkish meal ,but be warned if you try it the main course had a sausage type thing and it was highly spicey ,apart from that the meal was great in there, we didnt try the fish as we dont eat fish, hope you have a good holiday and lets hope they have improved the evening meals in the main restaurant

i have put some photos of aegean dream in the gallery , i think they are still in upload so have a look
