hi all,im off to albuferia in sept has anyone have any airport transfer recommendations and prices from faro airport to hotel california in the old town

I'd give you the name of the firm we use but they aren't taking any more internet bookings
for the time being because they are so busy.

But if you have a read back through this thread there's quite a few recommendations.

I'm sure you'll find one suitable.

We have booked with the same firm as you and were a little concerned to see that internet bookings had stopped. I emailed enquiring that our booking was still ok but have had no reply as yet. I'll try again tomorrow but if no further response then it will have to be someone else. Your thoughts?

If it's Pete you mean, (Algarve-365) he's run off his feet at the mo.

You see, it's not just internet bookings they have.
They get lots of bookings from people in the Algarve too.

Internet bookings have just been suspended for now because they
don't want to take on more than they can handle and spread themselves too thin.

That's how mistakes are made, people get let down, and it's the last thing that Algarve-365 want.

After all, it's not good business practice to do that is it?

I think it shows they're not greedy, and are seriously responsible about their customer care.

I'm sure he will get back to you, don't worry.

Any bookings made prior to the suspension of internet bookings are fine, I am reliably informed.

Hi simoncha. I have never used this forum before but I am Pete from Algarve 365. I have only joined so that I can answer your question as I have honestly received no email at present asking me a question from yourself. Or at least I dont think I have as I am usure of your email address as I can not find any bookings under the name simoncha.
We did get 1 email about 3 days ago by a person (initials A.N) so if that was you then we did reply.
Basically I would just like to back up what was said above by MM. All bookings already taken are being honoured but we have stopped taking internet bookings as we were strugling with the demand (not a bad complaint I know lol). There are many villa rental companies and property management places etc that use our service and as they are very regular bookers with us it obviously pays to keep them happy and not turn down the work.
If you would like to PM me your email address I can then reply to you via the website so that I can prove who I say I am if you like.

We always used to use them until we had to share with another family on the way home.
No we aren't anti-social - far from it!

The family in question (and if you are reading this you know who you are!) were awful!
The two teenage lads were loud and lewd.
The mum seemed ok.
The dad - wouldn't come out of the apartment bar!

We were stuck in the minibus for ages waiting for him! Not amused!

(Just as well we were stay at the back and my husband couldn't easily get out - he wanted
to go and drag him out!)

Of course, when he finally graced us with his presence, he was half sloshed and was nothing but
a pain in the backside.

The atmosphere in the minibus was awful - me trying to be polite but not too chatty with them, my
husband blatantly ignoring him, and my eldest son growling at the teenagers.
(He eventually told them to stop the loud and lewd behaviour - which caused a few rumbles.)

My nerves were shot by the time we got to Faro airport.:(

Hi, we have just returned from Lagos and booked a shuttle transfer with Best Day, they were reasonably priced and punctual, I would definitely use them again.

I am arriving at Faro airport tomorrow at approximately 11:00am with my girlfriend, going to Albufeira for 2 weeks. I assumed it wouldn't be terribly expensive for a taxi at the airport, is this true or is it likely to be quite expensive? Is it far too late to book a transfer if it is expensive?

I was going to respond but Andrew and his girlfriend will be in the air now...

We got back from Albufeira on Monday, and used Alan Sutton from http://www.ownersinportugal.org/ . We have never gone DIY before, and can't believe the difference. There were 6 of us, so we were met at the airport by a lovely man and taken to our apartment in a very comfy 6 seater mini bus with aircon. The return journey was very prompt and comfy too. I will definately used them again!
