Woohoo!!!!
Just got email from Ramy to confirm ok to upgrade to Junior Suite so will have a bath for 'little miss I hate showers', am so happy.
Can't wait now 5 sleeps and we'll be there, no down to counting days of the week not dates!!!
See you all there if you're there w/c 29 September, I'll be the totally stress free mam with a clean daughter!!!
My brother in law, husband and our 2 sons, 14 and 13 did the quad bikes and he thinks it wouldn't be suitable for a 10 year old.
He said although there were only 4 in their party, once they got into the desert there were 30+ quad bikes whizzing around.
He didn't see anyone that young on them or riding as a passenger either.
That's just his opinion, maybe someone else has a different view.
Did you get the photos?
Emma
Yes thank you I did get the photos they make me want to go even sooner now!!
Thank you for the input on the quad bikes, I know how dangerous they can be and some others had
had younger children on them, but me being an over protective mum I would rather not take the risk.
Did you do any of the other trips or did you stay close to the hotel complex?
Katrina
While the boys were doing the quads, and the younger kids were in the brilliant kids club, my sister and I went next door to the Laguna Vista and had a couple of spa treatments, so much cheaper than the HV.
We didn't do any other trips. We did go into Naama Bay a few times. Ate once at Hard Rock Cafe, which was fab and relatively cheap.
Would loved to have gone to Cairo, but too much with the kids, they wouldn't have enjoyed it.
The firt choice trips are very highly priced and we found if we went over to La Strada, there was a man there in a kiosk selling trips at a much better price, and he is fully insured too. Don't be afraid to haggle too.

What a great place, we were in block 7 as requested (thanks again Ramy) location and weather superb.
Food was great, not repetitive at all and the al carte restaurants were nice too, very small portions though .
None of us had the egyptian belly but we did take acidipollus prior to our departure and whilst there. Our friends came out to us for 2nd week and they too were fine and only 1 of them took the tablets prior to their departure.
Only gripe was young children in the main restaurant helping themselves to food and messing then putting it back. I mean these children were only about 4/5 years of age. Surely parents at home dont allow the children mess around with hot food when they are cooking/preparing at home. Also little children being sent to the bar to collect their own drink sprite/cola etc. The times I have assisted them with drinks, the little cherubs couldnt even reach the top of the bar how on earth could parents send them its beyond belief.
We did the quad biking twice one in the morning and one sunset, this is great. Undertook the Ras mohammed trip again and enjoyed it just as much as last year when it was our first visit.
Lovely to have met Tash again (from the entertainment team) she was at the CSR last year when we were there. Nabq bay has really come on in 12 months such a fab place. IMO I would prefer the Nabq instead of Naama as the air quality felt better.
Will defo visit HV again if we could get a cheapy for next year I would be back like a shot, its just we are going Mexico in March 09 so other half says we'll have to see .
Will put a review on any questions please feel free to ask, everyone going soon have a great time.
Kazee xx
We were there the same time as you and found the food was fine but agree with you regarding kids messing with the food and getting own drinks.
We thought the a la carte restaurants were a lovely change from the dine around restuarant. The portions were a bit too small.
I absolutely loved our holiday at the holiday village and would go back in a flash if I could.

Just started reading this forum again ( had to cancel 18 months ago and have rebooked for April 09 )Getting excited even thought its a long way off. I have a question about the kids den beds. Our daughter is 12 and quite tall. Someone mentioned their child being too long for them and changed rooms. Just wondering if I need to do the same as there is bound to be more choice sooner rather than later. Also could anyone say if there are showers as well as baths in kids den rooms as I amm unable to use a bath due to a disability. Thanks
we had a kids den in august and i would say that the beds in the kids den should be fine for your daughter. the reason for for this being that on occasion i was banished to the kids den because of my snoring and young jonny had the huge main bed. try not to worry you will have a fab holiday.
happy hols
john
ps
the shower was above the bath in our room (6202)
Thanks for that john gwyn
First of all i dont want to pack things I dont need.
1. Do I need to take a beach towel or are they provided at pool?
2. Is there a hairdryer in the rooms?
3. Do men have to wear long trousers in the restaraunt?
If anyone can help me on these matters I would be very gratefull.
Thanks
Donna
1 yes there are beach towels provided
2 yes there are hair dryers in some rooms ( we were in a swim up room and they were in there) just drop a line to the hotel and ask them , if you know what type of room you are going in.
3 No they dont have to wear long trousers in the restaurants,
have a good holiday, am sure you will love the holiday village

Hi peeps
Thanks jeppo
The hotel is beautiful ~ we stayed in block 6 which was a good location. The room was standard but was huge with a walk in wardrobe and a wet room shower.
The maid ( all men ) service is econd to none. They are always cleaning.
The food was good, we loved the Bamboo a la carte.
The snorkelling was ace.
On the down side we all (me, hubby 2 kids, 10 and eight) came down with the "bug" at different times which meant several nights/days in the room. My 8 year old needed the doctor, who by the way is very good. She had an injection at the time, then we collected the prescription and she was right as rain within 24 hours.
The rest of us sufficed with the chemists own prescriptions, and were all ok with 24 hours too.
We still had a great time in between.
My hubby and 10 year old have qualified with PADI, via Aquarius that First Choice use ~ hubby did the 4 day course, and my daughter did the 2 day.
Kids clubs (in2action) reps were great, they did the high adrenaline, and survivor, gladiator, sea scooters etc, all the activities.
Arrived back this morning, had fantastic time, swim up rooms are amazing and well worth the bit xtra. Fantastic holiday, 3 in our party including a 15 month old (he was the one who like saying hiya to everyone.) all drank plenty of water and careful in the sun and none of us had any sign of illness, great holiday had by all, anyway will post a review shortly.
I am a complete newbie to Egypt, but, we are thinking of booking up for March 09.
This village looks lovely especially if we book a swim up room, it will be just the two of us (hubby & me).
Next question is, how warm is it likely to be mid to end of March, also is it still warm in the evenings.
If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you all in advance.
Deb.
Does anyone know of a particular block to ask for that has the sun all day with a swim up room please, we are going to book tomorrow & it would be good to know what block to request.
As I said we have never been to Egypt before or any holiday villages.
If someone would be so kind,
Thank you.
Deb.
we were in block 13 swim up room, that had the sun on all day, i asked that one before we went, and 7 and 13, came up the best for sun all day. block 13 is near the quiet pool, 7 is a bit nearer, the main pool
jeppo
Thank you jeffo, I have made a note of that. Any other advice would be welcome anyone.
Hiya just wondering if anyone can anwser my querie. Me and my husband and my 3 children are travelling to the hvrs next week and i was a bit dissapointed to hear from some reviews that they have a adult only view bar that children are not allowed into, they also say that some of the entertainment is held hear. Could anyone let me know if this is right as i find it quite unfair that i have paid alot of money for a holiday and am not allowed in a part of the hotel where there is nightly entertainment.
