I went away for 4 days and stuck more or less to the plan, no rubbish or alcohol etc. When I came back I had put on 1.5kgs (about 3lbs) in 4 days. I was furious and went about chuntering all day and nearlly ate the chocolate cake.
2 days later got on the scales and had lost 1.75kg - unbelievable.
Now decided the tape measure is the best thing to use or the black skirt hanging behind the door!!!

Is anyone using Wii fit to get weighed on? I find that when I do the the Body Test I weigh one weight, do some step exercise then do the body test again and it is lower. It happens every time. OK get weighed when I have done the steps seems to be the thing to do but I just find it annoying when it is my "weigh day" and I don't have time to do the steps.

Hi everyone
Hope everyone has had a good week. :D Again I have followed SW 100% so I hope to see a loss on Tuesday - I think I will be a bit upset if I don't. Weekends were my downfall but I have eben got 'my head' around these.
Want to get back into target and then concentrate on getting to lower end of traget by end March and then a good April (lighter nights - out walking or cycling should all help). ;)
Have a wedding to go to on 2nd May, planning our summer holiday to Cyprus (never been) and another wedding at the end of August - have a weight in mind and would like to achieve it - but I do know if I toned up a bit more I would also look better.

This thread goes back a couple of years. Has anyone lost weight and kept it off or is it a cycle of slimming for Xmas then slimming for holidays?

Oh for the constitution to be stable all year round eh? :cheers

Well I don't think I have posted in here for nearly a year when I lost weight managed to keep it all off for the year still weigh 9st 8lbs. Done mainly by having soup at lunchtimes and eating a small dinner in the evenings and cutting out the junk in between and drinking lots of water.

When I first started posting in this thread, I was 4 stone heavier than I am today. I guess that means that I have kept the weight off. I have fluctuated a couple of lbs up and down over the last year or so and overdid things at christmas/new year (well November through January  ) when I went up almost a stone (it was so worth it though ;) ). I have been back on the diet since February almost 100% and have lost all the weight I gained over christmas :D, now just want to get to my new target and lose another half stone for my holidays in June (I never did get to my original target weight).

Hi everyone

Haven't read through the hundreds of posts on here but I can say I have given dieting for the summer a shot......unsuccessfully! Well that was until last year- I highly recommend the Paul McKenna book called I can Make You Thin. Sounds a bit cheesey but I lost a stone last summer and I still ate everything I wanted to! I have just read the book again having put on 5 pounds over winter and have already lost 4 pounds in the last 2 weeks! Its all based around the relationship you have with food and tuning into when you genuinely are hungry and when you're just craving. It comes with an NLP CD as well which is also really useful. I highly recommend it to everyone!! Im aiming to lose another 6 pounds over the next 5 weeks ready for my holiday :sun2

I have Paul McKenna's cd's and watched his recent television programmes and I like what he says. I have taken my time eating and enjoying every mouthful and stop when my appetite is satisfied. I have lost weight although not a great deal.

I draw a line at the tapping though, especially in public.

I found those Paul McKenna CD's in the local charity shop and do you know I have not heard them all the way through :D
I have heard all of the tapping one but not the one where you count down the numbers and the one where he just talks to you. Found that they are the best thing for insomnia and if I wake up during the night just put the player on and can't remember where I got up to.
I am not doubting that they will work but I will never get to find out!!!

I can highly recommend 'I can make you thin' as well! I've lost 16lbs since the beginning of 2008 and have managed to keep it off. And all this without depriving myself of any of my favourite foods. I have to try really hard not to laugh at the CD as he sounds like a cheesy porn star at times!

The CD is a bit cheesy but I swear it has the desired effect. Whenever I find myself craving I just play the CD and the next day Im all sorted again. I am one of those people who strongly beleives the mind is very easily influenced so maybe I open myself up to it alot. Everything he says in his book makes sooooo much sense and you really can eat all your favourite foods- as long as you take your time and enjoy it and only eat when you're hungry! One of the best tips I think he gives in the book is to learn to tune into your body to judge when you really are hungry, vs when you're thirsty, vs when you're craving! I also realised that I used to eat far too quickly and not take the time to enjoy what I was etaing or giving my tummy chance to tell me I was full. Its a worthwhile read- only takes about 90 mins to read cover to cover and could be a lot cheaper than a diet and a lot more pleasant!! :cheers

Well I'm back!!! Havent been on here for a long time but now that we have booked our holidays I need to have lots of inspiration. After reading the last few posts I am going to mix SW with Paul McKenna as I forgot I even had the book+cd. My mam and sister have joined SW again but I work every evening so they are going to pass information and healthy b bars on to me. Our holidays are booked for 28th June so I need to get a move on!! Anyone got any nice recipes that have not got onions, sweet corn or celery in them?? Have discovered the vanilla muller light with chocolate and it is gorgeous my sister said they are free and there is an orange one too!!! Is this true??

Hi Lordy.

Yes, Mullerlight have a new range of yogurts. There is a vanilla with chocolate bits, an orange with chocolate bits and (my personal favourite) cherry sauce with chocolate bits. Just beware though that although the vanilla and orange are "free", the cherry one is 2 syns (well worth it though IMO ;) ).

Well done on all the losses everyone.

Sarah :)
