Flight Only / Airline and Airports

Their policy is that EVERYONE gets 20kg free allowance for carrying in the plane but there is charge per bag for handling at the airports

Hmmm we may have stumbled across something very interesting . I did read that link but hadnt noticed that only 1 hold bag between 2 had been purchased  . You are quite right Kedi/Steve.

If it's not that way why would anyone pay for hold luggage for their family when they can just take the one case?

So it would appear that the 5 of us could get away with 2/3 very heavy bags as long as each doesnt go over 32KG and that the charge we pay per bag is nothing to do with purchasing a "weight" and only a handling charge.

We now need someone to test out this theory for real, Can someone do that before we are due to fly next month please? ;)

Well hubby and I are flying with them on 5th june but so far i've not booked any hold allowance . Was going to try and attempt the hand luggage only with online checkin but so far I've always bottled out and added a hold bag a couple of days before . :rofl

Ok, this is the reply I got from Easyjet:

Dear Mrs Ecer,

Thank you for contacting us.

I understand your confusion about the hold bag allowance on this booking.

Having checked the records, I can confirm that the total allowable weight for the 3 bags booked in this booking is 80 kgs. This means that you can divide the weight of 80 kgs in all the 3 bags booked. Please make sure that no single piece of hold luggage exceeds 32 kgs.

For more clarifications, please click on the following link :

I hope I have been able to answer your question fully, if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be more than happy to assist you further.

Yours sincerely,

Does anyone know how Easyjet are collecting API for Turkey. We are travelling in August . Can't find anything on thier web site and the booking does not ask for it like it does for Spain.
Thanks Marg

Might I ask why you think that API is required for Turkey? I've not heard a thing about this, and I do keep informed on this type of thing, so please educate me! You WILL need to pay £10 per person for a tourist visa when you land. Please make sure that this note is clean and not scruffy. The Turkish authorities do not give change!!! So make sure that you get a good £10 note for every member of your party! And have a great time!!

Came in for Turkey on March 4th 2009. Just google API Turkey.

................. which I promise you I did, and got a load of odd results about API maps; Christmas Turkey and people on face book ................... none of which got me any further with this thread. I'll try again and if I'm the one doing something wrong, I apologise profusely in advance.

Well I tried again, and entered Advance Passenger Information Turkey rather than the acronym you quoted. And lo and behold, a couple of references from OAG and BA.

This is from the BA website - mods I hope you will forgive this ............

Now I suspect that most of the information can be gained from interpreting your booking details with Easyjet, especially if you check in onllne, or can be collected by the luggage drop or check in desk when you arrive at the airport, before travel. Unlike the US, there is no time limit before departure being quoted for the airline to pass on this information. And not all this info is necessary - note the contact information.

I hope that this helps a bit - and that this information can be easily obtained from your passport at the check in desk and will not take a long time to type into Easyjet's computer system, which again will appear on the information submitted to the UK Government. Anyone know why it's the UK government taking such an interest in people's movements because it also applies to flights to Malta. Usually it's the destination's government who are interested in who's entering the country. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

We are travelling to Turkey in August and we have been asked for it. I haven't given the information yet as I am waiting for my daughter's new passport but we have up unil 48 hours before we fly to do it.

that 2 people can pay for one bag and fill it to the 32kg safe lifting limit

without wishing to be too picky ... but it doesn't actually say 'paying for one bag' it says 'taking one bag'.

However, having done some research ie making a 'booking' for 2 people but changing the baggage selection from 2 to 1 it does then say 1 piece of hold luggage up to a maximum of 32kg. Well done that man !!!!

Had to email my details to Easyjet and they have confirmed they have added them. They are advising if you want to add it at the airport which they don't recommend you need to be there two hours before take off.

Re API to Turkey
Had to send details via e mail and they have confirmed that they have received them. they do not advise waiting until check in but if you decide to do this you have to be there two hours before. They do not have the facility to scan in it has to be filled in. When you consider that many people are not aware of this there could be a large number of people filling in the info. Like times and tides Easyjet wait for no man or women.

Can anyone help?

I am trying to find out more about a cancelled Easyjet flight, details below
Flight 6065 from Bristol to Valencia.
on 7th February 2009
departure time 17.15

On the day in question, I was told by two different members of the Easyjet staff that the plane was cancelled due to 'staff running out of hours'. Now, having spent many weeks and have sent many emails trying to obtain compensation from Easyjet but now they are telling me that the problem was due to ´de-icing´and I am not entitled to any compensation.

I have asked them to support this statement by answering the following questions:-

1) WHERE THE PLANE WAS WHEN THE DE-ICING PROBLEM OCURRED (BRISTOL?)
2) DETAILS OF WHEN THE PLANE WAS NEXT USED (DATES, TIMES, POINT OF ORIGEN AND
DESTINATION)

But they responded with :-

I am sorry you are unhappy with our previous response, however, as you have been
previously advised we are not obliged to disclose such sensible information.

As the previous agent advised, we are only able to provide the official documents sent
by the airports only following the requests of the aviation authorities, who would be
dealing with this issue on your behalf, therefore as soon as you will obtain proper
documentation, it will enable us to continue investigating your claim.

I have sent an email to the AUC but they are taking 10 weeks before they will reply.

Is there anyway that you can help me find out the answers to my questions?
:) :) :que
