Sorry to hear of your problem. I`m presuming here, that you were at Valencia when the flight was cancelled. Been doing some digging and that was the time the UK copped for some very heavy snow, Bristol being very badly affected. According to reports on Pprune the runways were closed on the 6th/7th Feb and again on the 9th, with crews struggling to keep them open in between. The De icing rigs would have been at full pelt and almost certainly unable to de ice on demand thereby causing delays. This may well have had a knock on effect on crew hours, especially if your aircraft could `nt have got to and from Valencia before they went out of hours. There may also have been issues with snow clearance on the runways at this time. Hence the two stories you have been given, may well be correct.
In these circumstances, all airlines, tend to cancel flights and I`m afraid all you would be entitled to would be a refund of your ticket. No airline will pay any knock on costs I`m afraid.
They are also not obliged to give you answers to the questions you have posed, although a more accurate and detailed response would have been appropriate in your case. Sorry I cant help further but there may be others that can..
Does anybody know when the Easyjet Gatwick flights are released for October/November? You can book Bristol but not Gatwick for some reason. Looking through the question/answers section I can't see a named release date. Any ideas?
Laurence,
Great thanks for that Gower.
Easyjet have just released winter flights from Gatwick, just booked
on 7th February 2009
departure time 17.15
Dear Paully
Thanks for the reply. I wanted to send you a PM but couldn't "¦..don't know why, the service wouldn't let me.
Actually I was in Bristol waiting for the flight to Valencia.
You are right, the weather in the UK had been really bad, but the day of my flight it had been sunny all day (strange for the UK) and as I said before , my flight was scheduled to leave at 17.15.
When I checked in, about 2pm, I was told that the flight was on time and this was confirmed by several staff in the departure lounge. I asked for confirmation because there was one other Easyjet flight delayed (but only one) ,that was going to to Barcelona . That had been delayed for several hours but other Easyjet flights were leaving Bristol with no problems.
We were called for boarding at 17.00, but 20 minutes later we were told the flight was dealyed, but the plane was 'on it's in bound journey'. Then we were told it would be delayed by 2 hours. Just before our flight was cancelled, about 8pm, the delayed Barcelona flight was called for boarding and subsequently left.
Myself and other passengers were suspicious as up to the point it was cancelled, we were always being told that the flight was on it's way in and we would be definitely leaving.
We had our suspicions that our flight had been used for the delayed Barcelona flight, which made sense because our flight was the last Easyjet flight scheduled from Bristol .
Also, I was told on two separate occasions at the airport that the cause was 'crew running out of hours' not the reason that was given to me 10 days later by their customer help department.
This is why I would like to know what plan was actually scheduled for my trip and when/where it was next used. I appreciate that this will probably be impossible!!!
But thanks again for taking time in looking into this.
Regards.
Martin
Its Difficult To Find As It Was Quite A While Ago (When You Consider The 100's Of Flights Easyjet Have A Day)
I Think The Flight Was Due To Be Operated By G-EZEP, As It Fits The Pattern For Every Other Flight (EZY6065) Operated After The Incomming (EZY6104),
As Far As I Can See This Flight Did Not Operate To Barcelona That Night, (But With Out The Barcelona Flight Code, It Is Impossible To Tell What Did Operate It),
The Next Recorded Flight I Then Have For G-EZEP Is The Following Morning Operating To Grenoble-Isere Airport, France and then Operating A Later Flight To Geneva (08/02/2009),
The Fact That There Was Much Snow Accross Northen Europe Would Have Meant That Aircraft Were Probably Not At The Right Places Which Then Causes Problems With Crew Hours.
Airlines Normally Then Try To Operated Flights They Can With The Crew They Have To The Places The Aircraft Are Needed.
Sorry To Hear You Had A Bad Experince With Them (Mine Have Always Been So Good, Lets Hope It Stays Like That For The Next One)
Gower
Thanks a lot for looking into this ......really appreciate it.
Where did you go to get this info??
With respect to the Easyjet plane (not) used for my flight, can you tell when it landed in Bristol & when it took off the next day to Grenoble? This would be useful if I have to supply them with more info.
Thanks again.´
(I´m not able to send you a PMessage, do you know how I can do this?)
Aircraft are tracable via ACARS that myself, GowerL7 and others use.
Assuming G-EZEP was the aircraft in question, it operated the following around your dates:
7th Feb: EZY6103 (logged @ 15:53GMT)
8th Feb: EZY101R, EZY2610T, EZY6103 (logged @ 1235GMT), EZY2153G, EZY2164.
As GowerL7 mentions, the aircraft looks like it got stranded on the day or your flight due to weather and other factors.
I get the impression that whatever information you throw at Easyjet, you'll not get anywhere with them as they'll use the 'circumstances beyond our control' line. To be fair, there's not a lot that can be done. When there are problems like this around europe, aircraft are moved all over the place to try and keep delays and knock-on effects to a minimum. Some passengers win, some lose.

As Darren Has Given You In The Previous Post Thoes Are The Flights That That Aircraft Operated Around The Time Of Your Flight.
As He Also Says, You Will Probably Not Get Very Far With Them, And You Have to Think Is It Worth It, (Phone Calls, Your Time etc..)
Here Is The Reaso Why You Cant Send PM's
There is a minimum post count requirement. This is to prevent someone joining purely to spam our members via PM. There is also a minimum post requirement before you can post links for the same reason.

I also noticed their baggage terms seem to have changed with regards pooling baggage. It seems their max bag weight is now 20Kg?
"Each paying passenger may take one standard piece of hand baggage, dimensions 55x40x20cm. The number of standard checked-in hold baggage stated for your booking must weigh no more than 20kg in total. The 20kg hold bag weight allowance (per passenger) does not increase with the addition of further hold bags. Extra weight may be purchased during the booking process. Additional charges payable at the airport will apply if you exceed the pre-paid weight limit".
cazzholly,
I've tried that Gower! I went to their FAQ on API and followed the instructions. I was supposed to click a link on my booking page to 'add document info' but there was no link, just a link to add extra baggage or speedy boarding! I've emailed Easyjet to find out why there's no link.
When you get into my bookings click on view I think its half way down page add API
It's definitely not there
cazzholly - I was unable to add it to my booking either, it was definitely not there - I thought I was going mad,!! in the end I rang them, it took about 4 minutes I used this number 01582 700036.
Sak46, many thanks ... I'll give them a call on that number. Pleased to see I wasn't the only one who couldn't find the link!
I did try that number in the evening but just
got cut off, so i tried during the day and it was ok.

hi, im just wondering if anyone can tell me if there will be in flight entertainment on oir flight to majorca on the 28th june from east midlands and also on the flight back on the 5th july? we depart about 6 in the morning going and depart about 10 am on return. and is our family of 5 (4 adults 1 child) likley to get seats togther? thanks
IFE Is Not Provided On Easyjet Flights Operated By An Airbus A319. Seating Is Chosen When You Get On The Aircraft, So If You Are There Quite Early You Will Be In Boarding Group 'A' and Will Have Pleanty Of Choice Of Seating
