richg,

The A332 and A300B4 have a similar capacity so Monarch often swap and change if needed. I can check what's used on next weeks flight to give you an indication of what it'll be. The economy section is pretty similar on both types so you'll not notice much of a difference.

Richg, I can tell you that both your outbound and inbound flights are down at the moment to be operated on the A330. The only reason they would change is if a problem arose with the aircraft you were due to fly on.

thanks for the help, once again darren.

wiggleworth, yes your flight is still down to be on the A300.

To give you an idea of Monarch's time performance at the moment:

the week ending 3rd June 09, 75.3% of their flights departed within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure;
the week ending 27th May 80.7% of flights departed within the same period.

The more recent slight dip in performance however was due partly to the failure across the computerised check-in system at LGW on 29th May, causing many flights (not just Monarch) to be delayed on this day.

I can say though that the A300 has been performing quite well recently and hopefully you shouldn't have any problems :tup

cool, i last went on a monarch a300 back in 92 :really , as these are getting on now, how long does monarch plan to keep these 4 flying

At present there is no timescale for the retirement of these aircraft.

It was expected that these aircraft would go once Monarch received the B787. However, since the arrival of this aircraft has been delayed until at least 2013 at the earliest then we can expect to see the A300 around for a little while yet. You may already be aware, but this is a good workhorse for Monarch and allows a lot of passengers (361) to be carried on both short haul and long haul routes. These days it is generally used for short haul charter flights but can also be seen on some ZB scheduled routes. It also flies to Goa during winter months and will often be used as a substitute aircraft whenever the A330 or 767 goes tech. Monarch has done a very good job in keeping this aircraft working so well for so long.

richg,

Even though there's a premium cabin on the A332's, they are normally sold as extra legrrom seats on short haul flights with basic service, ie no premium service.

Hi! i have mentioned previously that i am flying from luton to Tenerife on the 26th of July, i was just wondering whether monarch have Luton based A321's - that generally operate out of Luton or whether they just mix the fleet around various airports. If they do have based aircraft i would very much appreciate knowing which 321's they were.

Thanks :)

MON3478/9 have been operated by the Airbus A330-200's, the exception being 29th May when an Airbus A300B4-605R operated it.

nickappel,

ZB894/5 are operated by a range of aircraft (A321-200) and are rotated for maintenance. For example, G-OZBP, G-MARA, G-OZBF and G-OZBH have been used since the start of the summer season.
