Regarding the All inclusive at the don toni: Just come back - Apparantly (Now bear with me here- it gets confusing - it certainly confused me)- You can upgrade as soon as you get there for the full 14/7 nights, or for the remainding time you have left .For example if you have been there 10 days- you can upgrade for the rest of your holiday (Not for us- we just wanted the odd day)- if you want to upgrade for (Lets just say 3 days)- it has to be the last 3 days of your holiday-(Upgrade for 4 days - last 4 days of your holiday etc...) the days have to be consecutive (sp?) too. We decided one day we would go all inclusive for 2 days (Of our first week)- but obviousely we couldnt. We sent our lad down the second week with 105Euros (15Euros per day inc snacks)- so he could go all inclusive (as we were spending a fortune on him: with hot dogs, slush, cold drinks etc...)- again this was refused- all three of us had to go all inclusive (Which I can understand to a point)- but nothing about this is mentioned on their web site- it just has the daily prices for all inclusive. So for anyone wanting the odd day, or want to upgrade their kids- Im sorry to say- you wont be able to!!

Regards

We have looked into upgrading at the Don Toni. It does actually say somewhere in the conditions (page 3 that if you upgrade to all inclusive that everyone on your booking must upgrade.

yes that is right.all members of the party must upgrade.been like it for years.its stops just the one person getting drinks for others.

We tried going to another hotel one year in Salou (yuk) and had the worst holiday ever. Was meant to be 3 star but was nothing like the Fiesta hotels...the only veg they ever served were sprouts and carrots!!!No yummy ratatouille, roasted aubergines and tomato and mozzarella salad! Just couldn't wait to get back to Fiesta and have fun again and a proper holiday!

Couldn't agree more on the meeting people every year - we made great friends in the Algarb when we used to go in June. Sadly I now work in a school so we have to go in August but my 16yr old now has quite a group of mates that he can't wait to see at the CDT. Bringing another family this year so hope they enjoy it as much as we do!

Just over 4 weeks to go to our perfect two weeks...
A tip if you are going to Ibiza and want to go to the top of the old town...
We get a taxi to the top, about 10 euros I think (ask for 'la catedral par atras') the cathedral by the back...and you then walk up through a tunnel to magnificent views of the harbour and PLaya d'en Bossa and don't get knackered by having to walk up!! You then have a leisurely walk down through the cobbled streets and old town to the harbour. Have a Burger King or Macd's for lunch then get a boat from the harbour back to PLaya d;en Bossa, walking along the beach back to the hotel. it's a lovely day out and if going to Ibiza you MUST visit the old town! Enjoy!

Hi morh- I must have missed that- does it also say that if you want to upgrade- the days must be consecutive- and that you cant upgrade in your first week,(Unless you upgrade for all the days you are there), and that if you just want to upgrade for the odd day or 2, it has to be the last remainding days of your holiday?

We just wanted to upgrade on the odd day or 2 (and not be told what days we could upgrade)- was I being so unreasonable?- in wanting to go all inclusive on the odd day- as we didnt want to be tied for the full holiday!

thats funny because the plam beach hotel in june was doing a deal for the last 4 days of your hols.cheaper than normal.but its not cheap to stay in p/b.

Hi bellybally

NO you are not being unreasonable. I know many all inclusive hotels do let you upgrade for a day or two at a time but unfortunately not this one. It does say in the conditions that everyone on your booking must upgrade, minimum length of stay 5 nights [always including end of your stay]. I can understand why they have this ruling as lots of people would abuse it. We will be upgrading for the 2nd week but will be out and about the first week.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed your stay there. Would appreciate hearing about your stay. For example, what was the sunbed situation like, queues in dining area and bars etc. etc? Also is their a mini bar in the rooms? Entertainment at night? Any other info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hiya morh

Hotel lovely (Email and ask for your required room)- I asked for 3rd floor overlooking beach Or Pool. I got room 208 which overlooked the pool, and beach! Are you staying in the club or hotel?

Funnily enough the pool at the don toni hotel has no sunbeds around it :que , but has a nice grassy area which you can lie on. The swimming pool at the club has plenty of sunbeds and umberella's BUT you have to be up very early to get one- (Luckily for us our friends are early risers- so put our towels down for us :)

No mini bar- a nice average size room- hairdryer in bathroom- no kettle though- so if you like a cuppa- might be wise to take a travel kettle.

Queues can vary regarding all inclusive- sometimes busy, other times not so busy- just pot luck really!

Only stayed in hotel once for entertainment- they put a show on every even, and have entertainment on prior to this for kids.

Daytime activities brill- and omar is great! Archery, killer darts. cocktail game, killer pool, gladiaters etc...

Prices: 3.30E Pint lager
1.80e soft drinks
toasties, hotdogs, 3E
slush puppy 2.50E
small water 1.70E

Mealtimes very very busy- after the first few days, we went down at 6 for evening meal (6-9.30), and it was great, no long queues!

Waterpark great we really enjoyed it 10E for kids (Up to age 14), and £18 for adults. Can buy tickets at hotel for 9E (Kids), and 17E (adults).- and its literally a few mins walk away!

Hope I have covered everything, will do my review sometime over the weekend

Hi,
Just returned from the Club Don Toni and would like to add the following to what has been said:-

1] Food is fabulous and varied with something for everyone.
2] Entertainment is just the same as last year with absolutely nothing at all on a Sunday night.
3] The Entertainers that were there this year were, Lizbeth who looked after the kids club side of it.Anna who looked after the Teenagers.Paco,Omar,Matilda,Carla and Lex were the other and all were very good. The only complaint was that only Adults were only allowed most days to play the Cocktail game and some of the games were rubbish.
4]Chris the entertainer from Belgium is off sick with a back injury he received whilst performing Moulan Rouge and I don`t think he will be back this season.
5]You can upgrade to A/I or Drinks only for a minimum of 3 days which has to include your last day.
6] The lager that they are serving at both the Club and Hotel[Cruzcampo]is vile and most people I spoke to were of the same opinion. Some were even adding Kas Orange to it to make it taste better. It went flat as soon as it was poured into a Glass and you were better to get it in a plastic cup as it seemed to keep a head better.
7]The beach bar has been rented out to someone private this year and you will be unable to play Beach Volleyball,French Boules etc. Also the music on a Sunday went on very, very late so if you are allocated a room close to this be warned. It is also very expensive with a drink averaging 7 Euros.
8]Queues in the dining hall are terrible depending what time you go to eat. They have closed the restaurant above so everyone now has to eat in the one restaurant which is causing a few problems.

Thanks for all the updates on the DT and CDT. Shame about Chris, hope he recovers soon. We will miss him! Sad about the Beach Bar too, let's hope they can't afford to run it and all is soon back to normal!
Seems odd about the restaurant too. Let's hope that by the real height of the season in August when we go that they will have opened both of the restaurants.

Still can't wait to go again tho!!!

they do get a night off thats why.

chris is one of the best reps really.i was in the algarb nearly two years ago (oct )before gps took over.and he did a show for 26 people that were left in the hotel.and 26 people stayed in all night to enjoy.his boss did not what him to do anything for the lastnight.but he did.what a showman.we had a right good night.

yes some of the cocktail games are really daft.but fun to join in.what do you have to lose.nothing.and if you win (like i used to).i gave my drink away..shame about the beach bar.i am sure they could have found somewhere to play beach games.if that is the case you should have nipped down to palm beach and played.

Have I got this right? It sounds as though they have closed a restaurant. So is there only one restaurant between the Club and the Hotel. Surely not as each building has approx. 300 rooms. If this is the case I can imagine there will be queues.

Any info appreciated.

I'm going to stop reading - going next Wednesday, I had already started to come to terms with my beloved beach bar not being part of CDT but hoped the rest would be up to usual enjoyment. Will have to wait and see.

All in all Hillbankdee did you enjoy your holiday?

for anyone who is going here is the hotel from above.use the slider on right to pan out or in.you will see airport is not far away.to the left a bit of hotel.or play about with map and get the picture of how small ibiza is,plus you can view all resorts.

just move your mouse over map

Might as well add my name to the Fiesta club started on the last page. :D

In the last 3 years I've done Tanit, Milord, Don Carlos and Don Toni (3 times) - in my view there is just a single thing wrong with all of them except one:

Tanit - bit crowded round pool and for evening entertainment
Don Carlos - seem to change their policy every 5 minutes on whether or not they accept kids and in what months!
Milord - bit of a trek to San Antonio
Don Toni - perfection!!! Already been twice this year and currently plotting another visit for late Sept. :D

PS Just to clarify once again for anyone who is interested, there is basically only one single difference between Don Toni Hotel and Don Toni Club - the Club rooms are right round the big pool and entertainment area, so convenient but noisier, whereas the Hotel rooms are 2 mins walk round to the quieter hotel area. But all facilities are shared so otherwise there is absolutely no difference. ;)
Only one teeny weenie complaint from me from my visit a fortnight ago - during my whole visit, they never once had whole cold prawns that you peel yourself - they had them in May so not sure why they've gone now, did I just miss them somehow? Otherwise my weeks in May and a fortnight ago were spot on, and yes the ents team is particularly brilliant this year.

prawns and some fruits are on when in season
