Hi Susan, please PM me your booking ref and I will look at the booking for you.
Your baggage allowance with Jet2 is 22kg. We get an inclusive price from Jet2 for airport check-in and one checked bag, which as it is different from the Jet2 web policy, so needs to be carefully explained. The lower limit was for older bookings, when Jet2 had a lower allowance. What is confusing becomes more confusing when airlines change!
I have removed the 17kg stuff as it is no longer valid. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Steve
thank for the help steve
just wondering if you've read the pm I sent you last night. I'm not sure if there have been problems on the TR website as I'm trying to find a package holiday to Cancun. Nothing whatsoever was coming up last night for the whole of the month of May 2010 but I've noticed this morning that quite a bit of availability is showing. However, the hotel I'm after isn't coming up. Can you tell me if it's all sold out already please?
Thanks for your help, Shirley
Steve - can you tell me the promotional code which is valid on holidays for 2010 please?
I am thinking of buying accommodation on Travel Republic as it is the cheapest but I am concerned about what people are saying about fake promotions! I was goingto book before the end of July in the sale but if the price isnt going to change until after it would suit me better to wait a week.
Do you think the price will stay the same anyway. It is for a week in Salou!
Thanks for any feedback,
Lorna :-)
Steve would be the best person to answer that for you but I'm not sure he's around much lately I've noticed a couple of us have posted a query which he hasn't responded to.
Cheers for the reply Shirley! Any joy on a discount code?
Steve's hardly going to give you discount codes, when he works for TR you usually get them when you have previously done business with them. However HT members will usually pass them on, only I have not seen many around lately.
Dave.
KKala, Never mind what you have heard about TR if the price suits you after comparing other companies, Book it.
I have to say Steve is pretty fair. I have known him to help many Ht members out (myself included). I'm sure you could try him out with a price match. Send him a pm to see how you get on.
i agree with what shirley as said....steve is a decent all round guy
I have already booked my hotel with TR but I am considering arranging airport transfer. Has anyone booked through TR for this, were they ok and did the transport turn up? I have heard many stories about people left stranded and out of pocket when their taxis haven't shown up. I will be travelling by myself. I am always shattered when I get off a plane, and want little hassle as possible.
I did think of getting a taxi from outside the airport, but being a female on my own I was worried about being over charged and I am travelling late September and when I arrive it will be getting dark, 7.45 in the evening. Also I have looked at the various transport sites and it doesn't mention my resort which is La Cariheula, which is near Torrelominos.
Thank you
Dawnie-Rob
Going to be booking with TR again for next summer, every year they work out the best for us. We were going to book early but I noticed that the apartments I usually book aren't on the website, infact hardly any hotels/apartments are showing for June 2010 in Marmaris. Do they go up later on? To be fair I usually book in January but thought we would book early but can't find our apartments. A quick search on TR website and they are still listed but can't be booked
If you book a flight with Travel Republic does the price actually include hold baggage? Flights would be with either Thomson or Thomas Cook as they are the only airlines which fly to Monastir from Stansted. TR's flight prices are slightly better than LowCost, but LowCost include baggage allowance, whereas if you book direct with Thomson or TC hold luggage is charged extra. At present I'm simply keeping an eye on prices but want to compare like with like.
When booking with TR luggage is not included, this needs to be added on at the pricing stage.
Hays Travel does include hold luggage, may be worth a look. Although it's usually
cheaper to book direct with the airline.

Thanks Caz. It's really getting confusing. How on earth luggage can be considered an optional extra on a forthnight's holiday I'll never know.
I agree that this trend to treat checked-in baggage as an optional extra is a right pain - I've just had to cart home to Scotland a huge amount of paperwork from a recent 2 day work meeting in England but it's going to have to be posted on to a colleague based in Dublin. He flew over with Ryanair with only hand luggage and it would have put him way over their luggage allowance and he would have had a huge price to pay for excess baggage if he'd taken his with him!
I recently booked flights to Tenerife with TR and the list of flights generated after I put my date requirements etc into their 'search flights' tool, specifically stated whether the quoted price included a checked baggage allowance or not. So I would say that if it does not explicitly state that luggage is included then I would say that you can safely assume that it doesn't. On those flights were it wasn't included, it was flagged up very prominently at the next stage how much it would cost to add 'checked baggage.
As for it being cheaper to book direct, I found that in this last case it wasn't. Our flights are with Jet2 and flights booked direct with them DON'T include checked baggage and there were other 'add-ons' too. I don't know whether this was a mistake on TRs part or not but because TRs price included baggage and they charged a lower credit card fee than Jet2, it actually saved us £120 in total flights for 3 people. I held my breath waiting to see if the price was honoured but I've now received the tickets and which clearly state that 20kgs baggage allowance is included and we've not been asked to pay anything extra. So mistake or not, TR have honoured the price originally quoted on their website.

It seems we now need a degree in logistics to work out the best way to book a holiday and I for one am getting fed up with it.
,if more people were to use such companies then the others will soon learn.... but some people never will they still believe a 10p flight is the cost whereas you still have to pay all the airport and flight surcharges which any sensible person See's as part of the flight cost
