roys67,

welcome onboard :tup
LTN-ZTH-LTN (TOM5214/5) are operated by a Boeing 757-200. You'll find further aircraft details on our What Aircraft? guide. TOM were top of the punctuality league table in 2008 and curently in second position for most punctual charter airline.

roys67,

I'm afraid not. The aircraft are rotated on an almost weekly basis for maintenance. If you can give us your flight details, ie when you are traveling, we can give you an indication ofthe aircraft currently based there. The registration is almost irrelevant really as they're all the same inside. As you are probably aware, the fleet consists of former First Choice and Thomsonfly aircraft following the merger. Apart from the colour schemes, the only difference is the seat design. The Thomsonfly birds have newer generation slimline Recaro seats fitted when they receiveved the Boeing Enhanced Interior pack a few years ago. Although they have he same seat pitch, they give you a bit more room with the slimline frames and the seat pocket being at the top rather than bottom of the seat infront. Thomsonfly aircraft operate out of LTN in the main, but FCA ones are sometimes used.

Hi

Flying Tom 144 Manchester to Cancun this Sunday 02.08.09.

Previous posts suggested this will be a former FCA plane. Is this still the case or might the aircraft have rotated.

Thanks

MAN-CUN-MAN (TOM144/5) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER unless there's a technical problem with the assigned aircraft and an alternative aircraft is brought in.

nato8835,

Your flights are operated by a former Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304/ER, and it should be G-OBYJ.

Wow, what a topic this is with all the information.

We are due to Fly Manchetser to Sanford on 20th August on TOM114, and Sanford to Manchester on 10th September on TOM115.

I was looking on the Thomson website hoping there would be copies of the In flight magazine, details of what Films they are going to show etc. (just so I dont have the same film taking up room on the iPod Touch).

If anyone can give me links to where I can get this information, or details regarding these flights (meal choices in Economy and Premium Economy (may upgrade)) that would be fantastic. Apologies if this information has already been posted on this Thread - but 160 pages so far - whoa!

Dave Page,

Thomson don't publish their inflight magazine online like Thomas Cook do. However I've posted the July / August IFE listing on page 134. The September / October listing won't be released until the end of August. You'll also find meal information on pages 137/8 I think it is by BY-TOM-AMM-FCA.

Hi,
Just to let you know if flying in October, you can now phone to pre-book your specific seat numbers. I've just managed to book ours for our flight to Mombasa & managed to get 20A & B (Hopefully if I've remembered correctly from Darren's advice these were the overwing exit seats!) for both the outward & inbound flight for £20 - bargain :)

gobofraggle,

Did you book them as extra legroom seats? Row 20 offer extra legroom on certain aircraft, but not all. Extra legroom seats over the wings are on rows 20 or 28 depending on the specific aircraft assigned on the day. If you've booked them as standard seats rather than extra legroom, there's no guarantees and probably won't get extra legroom as you've not booked extra legroom.

Hi Darren,
Yes, we'd booked extra leg room seats at time of booking the holiday & the lady on the phone said this was showing on our booking reference. I asked for the overwing exit seats & she confirmed they were row 20.
She did try & get me to go for 14A & B saying they were the best seats, but I had a feeling they would be the ones near to the toilet, so I declined those ones :)

gobofraggle,

You made the right choice! Row 14 doesn't have a window as it's where the air conditioning and wiring is routed!

You kindly let me know that my flight LGW to Taba on Tuesday (TOM 726) was coming in from Pula Croatia (TOM472/3). Do you know what the flight before the Croatia one is so that I can track it? Leaving for the airport on Monday afternoon as staying at hotel night before and just wanted a general idea.

Also, do you know what the meals on board on as we have booked adults and 1 child meal.

Many thanks for your help

NicS,

The aircraft operating your flight should be operating LGW-SID-LGW (Sal, Cape Verde, TOM544/5) on Monday before going on to operate the Pula flight Tuesday morning then your flight to Taba in the afternoon.

Your outbound meal will be Chicken Pomodoro (chicken in tomato sauce and mash, with mushrooms) your inbound should be sausages(no pork) and leek mash.

The outbound meal is better than it sounds and actually beat Emirates and Virgin Atlantic recently

(if you go back to page one there is a picture of the chicken pomodoro)

i'm not sure about the childrens meals,

Think they get Macoroni cheese(with tomato sauce, not cheese) on the way out and Fish Fingers and mash on the way home.
