I confess that we do a lot of shack hopping and don't keep going back to the same one but we enjoyed the food at Ganesh and we didn't get pestered. Probably call again in Feb.

Walked the Calangute and Baga beaches today. Building is going on but not at the pace I would have expected, also shacks that are well on in the building seem reluctant to put the shack name up. I'm not 100% sure that it's all over, the draw for the licences seemed fair but all the successfull holders have just built on their usual site, not the one allocated to them as per the order from the High Court up in Delhi. Will they get away with this? who knows, I,m off on the Emirates flight to Dubai on Tuesday but I'll watch what happens from the posts here with interest

Will be in touch with Ganesh tommorow, so will post what else he has to say about the positions. He does seem confident that no more hassle is coming his way, but who knows..
Good to know Ganesh is up & running. Hope he has a good season. All being well we'll be back there around March/April next year.
Let's hope that there's no more hassle for any of the shack owners, they've already had an awful start to the season. It would be really hard for any owner to have to take their shack down and re-position it.

hi jph77 - Ganesh's shack is on Candolim beach right by the monstrosity that is River Princess. we always use his shack, such good food and lovely courteous staff
can anyone tell me if the big bananna is up and running

I have to say for the 3 weeks we were in Goa the shacks not being there made no differance at all to our holiday... we still has great days on the beach lovely food where ever we went it was just the same as any other time we went cant say I missed the shacks at all ....colleen

Big Banana was trading from their old site and had sunbeds out last weekend but there was only the two main supports for the shack in place.
You could get drinks and they were as doing the famous steak burgers and chips, probably other food as well

Jolly Boys, another popular shack near Paradise Village, also got their license and are now up and running!
Debs, I saw Francis several times at his other place. The Big Banana wasn't up when I was there, as has been said just beds and operating on a limited scale but they did win the licence lottery so hopefully they are building as I type or even up and running by now. Francis hasn't been well so not sure if you'll see him out and about much as he's taking it easy and recuperating at the moment. Fizz
Does anyone know if bayview shack in Candolim got a licience and in its same position.
