Thanks Darren,
18 is the furthest back we have the option of so we might have to go for that one and hope for the best as I really don't fancy a seat without a window! Do you know how far over the wing row 18 is?
Cheers
rachyh77,
That's brilliant, really helpful, thanks so much! :-)
I am probably not making myself clear. Please click on the link you provided and you will see it states that premium passengers now get 20KG hold and 7KG hand. I know in the past it has been 23 and 7 but I think this may have changed. Like I say just read the link and see my point?
Cheers.
According to Thomson/First Choice website the Premier hotels are still getting 23kg so maybe the webpage that Darren has linked is incorrect?
I have my First Choice flight tickets for Holguin in Premier and they state 23kgs.
Hope this helps...
Best wishes,
Tracey
Each customer is entitled to check-in allowance of 20kg and a maximum 7kg for hand baggage (max. dimensions: 55cm x 40cm x 20cm).
This is only applicable to Premier and Premium upgrade customers.
Click here for more information on Premium seat upgrades"
That to me says if the part about the premier is wrong, so is the part about the premium upgrade. It is quoting exactly the same allowances as for a standard hotel or ecconomy seating. If there is no difference why make it a seperate paragraph?
Even if it has changed, if you booked before it changed, then you would be entitled to the allowance that you booked.
That's the strange thing the paragraph IS different as it states standard is 20kg hold luggage and 5kg hand
The paragraph for premium states 20kg hold and 7kg hand.
I know it seems like I am banging on but I would not like anybody to be caught out by this. The importance for me is the extra baggage in both hold and hand.
As I said before, if you booked before it changed (if it has) you will get the allowance you booked. I booked the premium upgrade for March over 12 months ago. The fact that the allowance for the premier collection hotels is still 23kg makes me think that the webpage is a misprint.
Ok the sentence would NOT be the same as the baggage for premium is 7KG Not 5 KG like standard
The only change made seemingly is the hold allowance from 23kg to 20kg which is the same for premium and standard alike the only difference now is that standard is 5kg and premium has stayed the same at 7kg.
I am happy about my own allowance being 30KG but for those booking now it may be worth checking this.
I hope it is a misprint.
"Customers choosing to book a Premium Seat (on selected flights) will enjoy an inclusive check in baggage allowance. Premium seats include a total of 30kg baggage allowance (a maximum of 23kg can be checked in to the hold and up to 7kg can be taken on board)."
That's for a flight only booking. The link for package holidays takes you to the page we have been discussing. Another reason I think there has been a misprint.
I too spotted that page and like you say a possible misprint.
I think I am "sensitive" to this as I would have serious issues with allowance if I was caught out as the stuff my wife and I carry is firstly valuable and secondly a massive reason for choosing Goa as a destination...I think I would go cold if I had to leave stuff behind or worse have to pack any hand luggage equipment in the hold!!
Misprint seems likely but for those with certain luggage requirements may want to check at time of booking.
Hi. Asked a few weeks ago about the aircraft for Tenerife South 05/12/10 TOM 4794/returning from La Romana 19/12/10-cruise charter. You kindly replied informing me of the possible aircraft being used. Having read that there is still a problem with 1 longhaul plane,do you know if we are likely to be affected, and if so will we be informed that there will no longer be premium cabin available?
Hope you are well?
Having read through, I see the injured plane is still out of action, and taking longer than expected to be mended? I imagine this is having knock on effects, but I think if I remember correctly, you said they change the configurations of some of th short haul to long haul which would help minamise disruptions. Has this happened yet? I know you wont know the answer till a couple days before, but just trying to figure the odds of losing our premium when we go to Mexico on the 3rd from Gatwick.
Cheers in advance
Your flights are unaffected as far as I'm aware. If there's a change, you'll be notified by the airline / cruise operator.
Darren
Some aircraft are redeployed with the change of season. This happens every November and May as more long haul aircraft are needed through the winter months, and more higher density aircraft / less long haul are required in the summer months for short / mid haul work. If you haven't been notified of any changes, there's no change to your flights.

I've just recently returned from a Thomson long-haul holiday and we upgraded to Premium on the flights. The luggage allowance was 23kg in the hold and 7kg hand luggage (although they didn't weigh the hand luggage).
On their "My holiday" personal webpage that they do it stated that we still only had the original 20kg of hold luggage allowance so I phoned the helpline who confirmed that the allowance in Premium is 23/7, and that the correct figure would be on the tickets when they arrived.
And on a slightly different note, in my opinion, the Thomson/FCA Premium package is very good - it has converted an extremely nervous flyer into a long-haul convert!

I notice TOM074 departure from Gatwick to Liberia is expected to be 6hrs delayed today.
Since I'll be on that in a few weeks time I tried to find out where it comes in from and whether that caused the delay.
But I cannot see any large delay on an inbound TOM 767flight.
Can anyone help with info about where it comes in from please or why it's so delayed?
I'm one of those strange folk who like to check this stuff.
